The 10/05 i think.
But the latest one is not bad at all.
couple of question before i wanna get this board..
is dfi bios flashing hard? i mean can it be easy as asus? go into bios then flash from thumbdrive?
2nd...how well this board can peforme againts bliz.....damn i wanted this board blitz...is just that i cant find it elsewhere here at local shop...so i really hope this dfi can be as good as blitz...not to say have to be better than it..
DFI doesn't support flashing from a thumbdrive natively, but there's a guide out for how to do it

No need to complicate.
Just dl WinFlash and the bios you prefer, do the flash from your desktop and restard.
Then delete if you like and you're set.
How are these in crossfire is it worth going to a x38 or should i stay with this motherboard with the performance difference!
The only advantage Blitz has is for liquid cooling in start.
Pre-made wc block and not much more.
Otherwise on air DFI is somewhat better or even.
anyone have the Corsair Dominator 8888's ?
willt he DFI boot up directly with the ram in it or do i have to do the usualy ram swpping since the SPD of the 8888's is set to 1111mhz 4-4-4-9 and requires 2.4v
it will not boot on any other setting. not that i have seen
i did see windwithme did 1200 5-5-5 @ 1.85v which is just @#%)%* insane
i would LOVE it if my kit did that.
some one needs to update the original post of this thread to denote "best known bios settings"
this board is way way too complicated. and frankly reading thru 99 pages of people blabbering when only a few pages are important.. well.. is rather silly.
someone take charge and do that.
i have no issues learning but this boards isnt designed to just jump into it. you have to know wth your doing.
I have the 8500's Dominators and you just select divider in bios and it starts @ 1066MHz from the start.
I imagine setting the 8888 won't be much of a problem.
WinFlash doesn't work with Vista x64. Unless a person is prepared to get someone's board going again they should not be recommending the use of WinFlash. With a stable system, flashing from Windows is fine. But a hint of instability will most likely leave the board in a non-working condition. Flashing from a USB stick works well.
That's funny. I thought i wouldn't make problems.
I used WinFlash even when doing o/c and it worked fine.
I agree it's good to use USB but it's not necessary.
actually the 8888 only have 1 SPD value
1111mhz 4-4-4-9 and that requires 2.4v
if the baords cant boot at atleast that right from the get go then it wont work.
thats why most people have to use some other ram, set those settings. save and exit the bios then shut down. swap the ram then the 8888's will boot up.
i've tried 800 5-5-5-15 and they wont boot. the ram for whatever reason jsut refuses to boot
thus the whole required swapping.
maybe it was just my P35 DS3R i dont know ???
Hi everyone quick noob question, I run @ 3600mhz x 400.0MHz bus on my P35-T2R with no problems , I know it's no great feat but I am completely satisfied with it. The bios is the shipping version that came with the board and the board is one of the first shipped so I know it may be showing it's age but again no problems. Am I cheating myself by not staying with the most up to date bios beta or other wise? Also is they a program for me to see what the bios version# is on my board at the moment?
Thanks
What you guys think is a Safe 24/7 CPU voltage? around the 1.5v mark?
@2000army...
I had issues with my X-Fi only working in the PCI slot just below my 8800GTX, so I just ran it there for the time being. Then, when I had the rest of my issues sorted I removed it in the device manager and shutdown, and removed the card, restarted, shutdown, then re-installed it in the bottom slot and rebooted, and everything is fine now.
A bit of a PITA, but worked :)
quick question for you guys
who would get the x38 if dfi would trade you your p35 for an x38 for free
Somebody wants the DFI X38:D
somebody ordered the dfi-x38:D but dont want another x38-dq6 lemon
brother i felt the power of the x38 chip and its like a padoras box
my only problem i had with it was os dyin in 3 days max
hey maybe was my ram cause it died on me 10 days after i went back to p35
but hey i think my little biatch p35c it a ramkiller 6 gigs of mushkins so far @ 2.26v
but you dint answer my question lol
btw you almost made me go to the dark side when i saw memory bandwidth lol but i had a chukkle with lestats comment
