Jut wanted to say how impressed i am with the dsl3 board i picked up recently after i had a second asus p5k(one was p5kr) crap out on me in a 1 year period.
With the p5k i needed 1.45v to get 7x500, and now with the exact same settings and all the other components the same I have a stable rig with only 1.3v. I thought my e6600 b2 was crap but it turns out the p5k are either altogeter crap or the ones in stock in my country are crap.
Amazing board for 90 bucks.
Any help appreciated (noob at o'cing cpu's)
GA-P35-DS3L Rev 2.0
bios F8f
E8400
Trying to get stable 3.6 with lowest voltage. The only voltage I added was to the cpu:
1.2625 in Mit
1.236 read in bios
1.216-1.232 cpuz
1.22-1.23 everest
memory 2.0
fsb 400
Does this look alright or should it be lower and maybe add to fsb or mch voltage or ram? everything on normal except cpu. Thanks

Hi guys,
Just wondering if the Thermalright Ultra 120 or Ultima 90 will fit easily on the GA-P35-DS3R board without having to jump through many hoops :D ?
Thanks, Danny.
I could use some advice. I have the following setup:
Gigayte P35-DS3L R2.0
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
2x1GB Corsair Dominator DDR-2 1066 RAM
Zerotherm Nirvana heatsink
Radeon 2900 XT
600 Watt Antec Truepower PSU
Windows Vista Ultimate
I can run 8.5*406 (3.45 GHz) without any trouble at stock voltages (with the RAM multiplier at 2.40, which actually puts it and an underclock at the moment) -- it gets through over an hour's worth of orthos testing. However, if I increase it to 3.5 GHz, suddenly I get tons of instability. I've tried upping the CPU VCORE a bit (up to 1.2 V after vdroop) and upping both the FSB voltage and NB voltage to the max available, but no dice. I've disabled C1E, TM2, and locked down the PCI-E freq to 100 MHz, so I can't imagine what could be triggering the instability (I'm running the latest beta BIOS). Temperature readings aren't absurd either (26 idle, 48 under orthos load until it errors out [consistently around 15 minutes] or the system resets [consistently shortly thereafter])
Have you ruled out all the memory issue yet? For every FSB/RAM speed update I'd see to it pass memtest86+ first. Let it go through 30 rounds of #5 test at least, and if you want to be extra sure, follow by 3+ more rounds of the entire test. Also you might want to check your NB temps now that you've maximized it's voltage.

Anyone know generally how far the DS3R gets with a Q6600/Q6700 in terms of FSB?
Stasio any improvements on the new bios for the P35 DQ6 board ?
hlonipla, all this bios F7E,F7F,F8A,F8B are beta.Last officialy bios is F7.
In F8A they fix bug for auto/manual enabled and Vcore.
In F8B MIT is on the first place(still testing).Notice (F8B) CPU temperature higher 2C.
There's a new driver update for the Realtek 889A, version 1.94...too lazy to post link.
Bump cause 100 pages is alot to have to sort thru for the info I will need about a p35-DQ6
Mysterfix, you are right.Me too cann't boot with stable setting in F7.Must increase Vcore to be stable.
I am also back to F7.
