Thats me
I definitely need a strobe. Thinking of getting an SB-900. I've agreed to do some portaits for a friend, a strobe would help a lot.
Here are some simple autumn colors:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3513/...25040739_b.jpg
Model = Nikon D90
Lens = Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G
Exposure Time = 1/640"
F Number = F8
ISO Speed Ratings = 200
Exposure Bias Value = ±0EV
Flash = Off
Focal Length = 35mm
And of course, nice facial expression ANP. :p:
I guess its because lot of guys here are more than average photographers. :) Not me, tough..
And about getting decent shot.. hmm.. when I want to shoot something, I shoot quite a lot pics.. different views/angles/focal lengths.. etc. and then pic some best. I donŽt plan a lot.. just shoot. But thats me, its probably different for others. :) Anyway you are doing nice pics..
Cause my G1 has some "issues" to get focus in low-light (which makes shooting in woods a lot harder) .. I tried something different.
Btw. does it seems oversaturated/undersaturated to you? Or is it "ok"? :) All criticism welcomed ofc.

And bit of PS work..
Mescalamba that shot seems like I can reach into it, thats the kind of clarity I am talking about.
Love it. Video is pretty good. I have to figure out how to use Vegas Pro so I can edit some video. I have a bunch of unedited stuff that looks pretty good at ISO 3200.
I tried my cousins 50mm f/1.8 the other day and hit rates were only about 20%.
Seemed like his lens front focussed quite a bit. I didn't have time to micro adjust it since I only used it for that one night.
He said he has never gotten sharp images from that lens either but then again he's more of a point and shooter with his XSi.
Also noticed that AF was super slow with it as well in dim light. The 18-55mm locked focus much faster in the same light.
Regardless I won't buy that lens just because of the slow AF.
he got a bad one elisha, i have not heard of anyone with slow focus or front/back focus issues.
mine is fine and fast.
spend the $90-ish, you wont regret it.
or spend the $400 and get the 1.4 model. or get the sigma 30mm f/1.4 like marin. i would go for the 30mm
mesca,,, seems abit under saturated, unless those are the closest to their real colors.
not everything has blazing full bright colors. especially things in the color range you shot, those are usually duller more subdued colors (browns, light blue)
it looks a bot hazy though over in the lower left corner, or is that just me? maybe some light flair?
if you have the option with the G1, bump the saturation up 1 notch. it will richen the colors without over doing it.

Yes, G1 has that option.. its pretty much capable doing everything that any "standart" dSLR can. :D
Hazy.. mm maybe result of adding some vignette effect in PS. :)
Undersaturated.. heh, ok.. IŽll stick with my +15 saturation in PS.. (its due aRGB to sRGB conversion which loose lot of saturation..). Thanks for response. :)
oh i see the vignetting, yes that might be all it is then.
send me the original if you can, jpg please, not raw, probably too big for my isp's email system unless it can be zipped to under 10mb.
