Oh yeah i forgot to ask earlier people using a P4C800-E is it worthwhile using better cooling on the NB? Such as water or maybe a small pelt

Things I've noticed so far (all tweaks in bios) 1023.x beta latest one in the german FTP:

- CPU boots into DOS 2.880 GHZ @ 1.6 (bios) vcore with stock heatsink but is not stable thus the weird FSB + RAM RATIO to keep CPU and RAM @ near their max. Not memtest stable.

Temps are ~ 65 C!!! I need a WC or better HS here. Looking at the Sonic Tower now.

Maybe need DROOP mod.

- Ram at FSB 200 1:1 DDR400 2.5-3-3-8 (stock rated settings) generates memtest errors in test 5 and 6. RAM can actually clock to ~ 230 DDR but errors in the same test. Is this normal or is my ram faulty? AUTO DDR Voltage.

- Should I drop ram speed down to find best 2-2-2-5 setting? I had to get it down to 166 FSB (DDR 333) for the aboves settings to be stable @ 2-2-2-5.

Is there a DOS based cpu tester I can can to burn in my cpu? What settings should I use?
I think I need better ram?
Do I need a better NB heatsink?
Recommendations for a SB heatsink (I don't see any mounting holes)
Windows based test or tweakers I should use?
Other tweak recommendations appreciated.

booted at 200fsb with turbo and pat ram at 2-2-2-5

p4p800 se with vdimm mod
geil one bh5 @3.3v
it will do 240 2-2-2-5 at 3.3v but i need my booster mod working before i can go any higher.

If you boot at 200FSB on the p4pse you don't get AGP/PCI locks - try booting at 199MHz - you get your locks and you still get full PAT.

i dont get locks with a ati 9250 but i do get them with a 6800gt.
but will try and see what it does.
I thought pat and turbo at 200fsb was differant settings than when at any other fsb plus you dont get the correct ram speeds so i would only have 333 instead of 400 , 500, 533 at fsb < 200.

Oh

PAT and turbo at 200 is the same at 200 or lower. 201 and above is slower.

at 199FSB, 266 = 1:1 and 333 = 4:5

but yeah if you get locks with the 6800gt it should be fine.

would setting ram latency to 11 in 865 ram tweaker be the same as pat and turbo at 200 ?
this would help with my 9250 quest for #1 spot in 3d2k1

Not exactly. DRAM latency parameter 11 set in i865 tweaker is fast, but its no substitute for a straight 200MHz 1:1 boot. The board sets some parameters that aren't within our control unfortunately at 200 1:1.

Cpu is stable prime for 12H at 2765Mhz v core 1.55V

I took my IHS off now coz it wasnt stuck and now w/o ihs i can't get good temps with my 7000alcu :S

i will reattach the IHS tomoz and see what I can do

oh and I also took back my 3dmark01 wr with 6800LE @ 2927mhz

I actually got 33723 but it wont publish coz i CGed after opening 3dmark :(

twas about, well i dunno really, my little thermometre is weird, if i select OUT it says about 7'C, if I select IN it says like 13'C so... lol

full PAT.. theres no gaing me running a higher fsb and partial PAT because I have to loosen to 2.5-2-2-5 as I only have 1gb ballistix atm

Hmm just whacked my 730 in for the first time and i'm getting temps around 50C

Still at normal vcore and stock heatsink

what kind of temps are other getting or is the p4c800 likely just reading high?
