Drop ya OC to eg 4ghz and see if you got any instabilities then. Would be better to post the CPU and voltage settings too...only thing you can try here is to loosen Back to Back Cas delay setting to eg 6 - 8

R2E Bios 1504 - http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/view...d=1276005&da=y
But I know what jet to throw in the eyes immediately after the BIOS flash ;)
Bios 1504 for the R2E is here also since the first link and account exceeded its daily download limit.

Is it possible to flash RIIE bios onto RII gene?
@bito, sure thing. This works for me, you may have to adjust your memory setting if your using a different speed ram.

Why would you want to do that, as the layout is similar ? Gene II's 0809 got the same options as 1502 ( I even think the REII bios was based on the Gene II's )
Time to check each dimm seperately. Also post ya settings here... and I wouldn't advise you to flash biosses when you seem to have an unstable rig even at stock speeds...
there seems to be alot enabled
doesnt that underclock the cpu

If you load setup defaults and re-enter your values in bios 1502 or 1504
Epu phase control will disappear. I wonder if that was the main culprit for the cold-boot problems plaguing some users......
I've reset the CMOS after 1502 and I had to enter my values again as the old ones were gone. Still have EPU Phase control. Never had a cold boot problem people described here either. Mine was related to Vista 64/BIOS problem. It wouldn't shut down properly to S3 to begin with after a single warm boot.
Hmmm...I could have sworn it was gone in 1502, I guess it might have been 1504 where it disappeared. Both bios came one after the other but I'm sure after 1504 my EPU Phase control is gone(I checked just to make sure). I'm glad sleep mode still works in 1504 as iin 1502. I also have never had the cold boot problem but I'm sure Asus is on the right track now. No one has replied back saying it didn't work(for those who have the cold-boot problem).
:D
with the 1502 bios I think I had the option EPU II phase control
I flashed the 1504 from 1406, all my settings were saved and I didn't have the option EPU II phase control
I loaded the default settings, then put my settings and no option EPU II phase control too
is better than this option disappeared then?
Confirmed , using 1504 . When i loaded setup defaults and restarted the epu controll was there. But when i loaded my oc profile it disapeared. But i dont mind since it's set to full phase if you dont touch it.
edit: found it. When you disable Cpu power limit the epu controll disapear. When you have it on enabled it's there in both 1502 and 1504.
hey guys where do i start overclocking never done it before
my projects and specs http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=213418&page=2
thanks in advance
davep watched Your project, well done  but it will be a problem with overclocking..... You do not have any cooling on the QPI card. It can be a very strong heat, by causing instability when overclocking. You must apply a small fan on this card ;)
I contribute that to this excellent motherboard and a great CPU and a crazy friend with spare ram.:DQuote:

Funny thing is in Intel Burn Test I stablized at 1.34v. Here's the kicker at 1.34375 bois, 1.33 CPU-z it has run everthing I've thrown at it.
