Vista wasn't that bad imo , it just got bad press from the beginning.
Maybe a few quirks which were fixed in SP1

Overall I agree, but I've had several Vista machines after a few years just randomly start loving to disk thrash for no apparent reason and slow way down. Just sits there grinding away doing absolutely nothing. Windows search and Superfetch both turned off and it still sits there grinding. I've never had a Win7 box do that yet.Quote:

my sossaman recently changed role (again) - no longer HTPC... it is now my pfsense box! :up:
Mine has been off since March due to job changes, moving, etc but I think I'll probably have it running again in a couple weeks.

I've got mine crunching for the challenge. After that I'm looking at using them as part of a small rendering farm. The 32bit restriction is a complication, but not insurmountable.
well I posted not a while back for a single 2Ghz CPU as I have one all by itself.. MM didn't get back to me.. if MM or anyone else has a single 2Ghz CPU to give you, I'll give you mine + some RAM.. you'll need to find the rest to make a complete rig! :)Quote:
