So I tried this mod just using a pencil and saw no change whatsoever, either the pencil isn't strong enough to do anything or it just doesn't work. Anyone with any suggestions is welcome to reply.

Don't you want a softer pencil so the lead (slightly conductive?) rubs off more and stays?
Ok, but didn't you say it didn't work for you too/

Hi all,
Does anyone know if the F11,F12 or F13a bioses fix the overclocked + standby issue for P35-DS3 boards? Id like to save some trees :)
While im here,
Is the FSB wall mainly decided by the cpu? Atm im running it at 388*8. My max cpu speed i can run stable is about 3.1-3.2ghz. Ive got a thermalright IFX northbridge coolerwith a fan as the stock thing was :banana::banana::banana:e.
Id like to run 450x7 or 520x6 but i doubt it would be possible with this chip.
jus wondering how i can check the voltage and temperatures for my NB and SB for my ds3r
on the ds3L rev 2.. which 3 pin connectors can control fan speed. i jsut bough 2 40mm fans for the n and s bridge (still in mail), just wondering if they are too loud if i can control them using the bios or soe other prog.
Hi all,
I've got a strange issue: the system below works fine with 2GB of RAM, but as soon as I add a third, it refuses to overclock--at all. If I enter setup and enable overclocking, but don't even change the frequency--that is, that I keep it at stock MHz--it will refuse to post, will reboot, and disable overclocking.
If I remove the third stick, I can go right back to my 24/7 overclock. Since I have 4 sticks, I've tried them all in various combinations, have vetted them with memtest, etc--it's not the RAM sticks themselves.
Have tried F4, F8, and F10 bioses; clear CMOS, etc.
Any clue? The RMA process will surely drive me to just get a different board, I think.
does it run with 3 sticks non oc options ok?? i have 3 sticks of 1066 in my ds3l now and it runs fine. post screen shows flex mode. i dont have it overclocked though, so its only at 800 but with 4-4-4-10 timing. is hte new stick same model as the old ones, are the chip density and voltage requirement different. ?? try a vdimm+.1 and run it at stock speeds. and see if its posts.
i notice you have a p35c, i think that means combo memory. did you accidently mix ddr2 and 3? u could try you ddr 3 chips tryign to run them at ddr2 voltage
Does the newer bios for the DS3-R have loadline calibration in them? I am running F7 with the rev 1 version and am wondering if this was ever added.
Thanks.
on my machine, when i make a change ocing in the bios, it will reset, have a long beep, not post, reset again, short beep, reset beep then post. Did you try giving it a few post cycles to let it figure itself out, or do u jsut do a jumper reset after 1 failed post cycle??
also, try dropping your cpu oc to its factory profile, then oc the ram. it may not like that high fsb even with a multiplier that keeps it in operating range. the lowest multiplier on my baord is 2. your at fsb 425x2 would give you a 850 mem speed. that migh tbe to much for your particular sticks.
Best bios for the DS3P + q6600 overclocking?
Thanks for that, I'm guessing you're right. Too bad. I have 2 of these and they have been very trouble free, but the vdrop+vdroop is killing me. 1.4625 in bios gives me 1.39-1.4 idle and drops to 1.34 at load. I have tried them with different psu's also, no difference. I understand the reason for vdroop, but it's just excessive on these boards.
