Dothan overclocking thread

why in the name of lord i can't boot with my ati rage first time i was able to do it) but second time the screen shows nothing

everything works (hd,mobo..)

should i try with graphic card on pci-ex?

another update: im currently using my corsair TCCD based ram , because of problems with the booster and VX on this board. I didn't get what i wanted on SuperPi but i came close, also AM3 shuttered ALOT! But i got a 15K CPU score out of it :lol:

BTW GFX was @ 460/1250 and CPU vcore @ 1.5v

if it s first boot with p4gd1 and pm , you must flash with bios 1005 or 1006

p4gd1 + pm and stock bios = no display

take a p4 to flash

i flashed this mobo already with p4, i boted with p-m already i was able to reach windows, but when i have put everythig together (hd,cd-roms....) ...no boot? wtf!!

i had the same problem, its probably a driver issue, can you boot into windows in safe mode?

no beacause at start(when i push power button) my computer is working but on screen is nothing:slobber:

2x512Mb kingston old Bh-5

max. picstable: 3200MHz

best 1m: 25,5sec. (no tweaks)
cpu didnt need that much vc but i just wanted to be sure.

highes fsb: 270FSB

no vmods yet.
hope to get my modded mach1 back soon so i can go for 23 or even 22 sec. 1m.

Woah! That is sweet! I got my P4C800ED up to 290ish before apps started to flake. What were your bios and voltage settings?

Any other mods? I have vcore and vdroop only on this.

just 1.6v/ 1.8vagp and Vdroop mod

gonna put vdimm mod onto it today, MAYBE vcore ;)

My P4C-ED for some reason the fsb seems to max out at 270 even at 1.8v agp, with the multi and devider on it still won't go higher. Now I'm pretty sure the board should be able to go to about 290, am I correct? Is there any bios setting that limits fsb?:confused:

which tweaks do u use to get that low superpi times?

no tweaks, just fresh XP and nothing else, havent installed anything except what u see on the desktop

waiting until vchip mod and vcpu-adaptor mods are done to see how far it can go!

I get a 25.167S @ 2879MHz, 221FSB. Make sure you boot @ 200FSB, with pat on, then clockgen up. Installing a ramdisk, and running the program off the disk also helps a lot.

i got this beast to run 2.857 1.575vcore in bios :)

In which aplications Dotchan has adwantage over other procesors. I mean, if You prepare p4p800e with dothan configured that it does 1M in 25sec.
Well There are only old tests & comparations. I am thinking if that kind of platform is steel a good idea to use it for games? Could it be using as a graphic station with Fire Gl? Is it a good Idea?
How about MAYA, CAD.....

Nice chip!

Can use a bit of refinement - I get 25.9 @ 2.75GHz - perhaps a higher FSB and a divider? Got mine at 305FSB 6:5.

i've had the FSB up to 315MHz, i've tried alittle of everything high ram speeds high fsb's this seems to give me the best results, so far until i get my VX back from the RMA :) Also what mods can i do on this mobo and tweaks for windows please :D :D
