Hey guys, what do the "pull ins" do in the transaction booster? I have them set to disabled, what happens if I enable them. Is that a good thing?

My question of the day,,. Should I buy a Q6700 for $250 or the Q6600 for $200~?
Overclocking a Q9450 on a P5Q-E to 3,2Ghz. Just wondering if I should finetune any of the following settings, anything that shouldnt run on auto? So far they are mostly based on what I could read in this thread from others with a similar setup, and elsewhere.
RAM is Mushkin 1000Mhz.
Temps seemed to stabilize at 60 C during Prime95 in RealTemp (A bit high due to running fans on a really low speed, but not too high I guess, considering I wont OC any higher. Only around 2-5 C higher than @ stock)
CPU Ratio Setting: Auto
FSB Frequency: 400
FSB Strap to North Bridge: 333 (Don't know whats best here, just picked what others with a similar CPU/overclock had)
PCI-E Frequency: 100 (I can see many set it to 101. Does it matter?)
DRAM Frequency: DDR2-801MHz
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A1: auto
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A2: auto
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B1: auto
DRAM CLK Skew on Channel B2: auto
DRAM Timing Control: Auto
CPU Voltage: 1.2 (giving me 1,184v in CPU-Z which was stock voltage as well)
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (0/2): 0.630
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (1/3): 0.630
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.52
FSB Termination Voltage: 1.12
DRAM Voltage: 1.8
NB Voltage: 1.12 (should it be higher?)
NB GTL Reference: AUTO
SBridge Voltage: AUTO
PCIE SATA Voltage: AUTO
Edit: sorry, typing error for NB voltage, its 1.12.
Save your $50 and invest in a good CPU cooler or better RAM. My Q6600 hits 3.0Ghz easily on stock voltages (9x333), but if I push it I can reach 3.6Ghz (8x444). Right now I'm sticking with 9x333 because the system runs a lot cooler when I'm not pushing the voltages to the limit. This is on a P5Q-E with air cooling, so the Deluxe might do better.
How much voltage does your boards need for 500 fsb stability on wolfdales?Mine needs 1.32 for 500 and 1.38 for 525

going back to bios 0803 from 1103
1103 has some bug
fsb from 500 to 600 I set fsb volt to 1.36/1.38v stabil
Can the fan connected to SYS_FAN be controlled through Fan Xpert?
Hi, looking to change my 4gb kit, but im kinda torn between 2 different kits at the moment, could someone please advise if both kits are compatible with these boards and which you would go for:
Kit 1: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...8500CL5D-4GBPK)
Kit 2: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=8&subcat=817
My 8400 needs 1.28 actual (1.30 in bios) for 24/7 8x500. I just put in an 8600 and really haven't tried to find that point yet. Still trying to come to grips with 9x500 or 9.5x500. I didn't have much time last night to play with it. I do know it is running at 8x500 with the same 1.28 with no problems, Just don't know if it needs that much.
MartinWhat kind of bug do you see in 1103? I am curious as I have only used 1102 and 1103 and want to know what might be different in 0803.
I have a problem with my P5Q-D, whenever i flash my bios to anything other than the original 605 bios the newer bios gets corrupted when the board has no power going to it and i have to restore it to the original bios
can i do anything to fix this or is it hopeless
thanks

strap 400 bug in bios 0803/1103
can not read/start from stramp 400
Any1 got Q6600 @ 500 fsb primestable? If so would u please share your settings, thank u!
I have got mine to pass 1133mhz, PL8/Strong, SRC Enabled, Mem OC Charger enabled, 1.96v in bios. I like this kit but it barely failed PL7/moderate and PL8/stronger, I think I could up the voltage or maybe just try enabling pull ins and lowering the twister a bit. Do you know of a good free program that tests ram speed and performance for Vista64? Ill keep you up to date:)
BTW, with the "Pull Ins" when I go to enabled them do I turn them all on or just the ones my ram sticks are in, or does it matter?
I just use Everest Ultimate trial version, it gives Read bandwidth and latency, good enough for me.
In fact, if you can enable all pull ins, that means you should be able to go lower on PL. It's an extra tweak after you found lowest PL. But we all know sometimes things don't work exactly as they are meant to. ;)
I have got PL8/Strong to pass with Pull Ins. I have not got PL7 to pass with them disabled but I have not tried PL7/Light or Lightest yet. Would PL8/Strong with pull ins do better then PL7/Light without them?
I ran some tests with Everest and got an average of 8950MB/S Read and 56.9ns Latency. Compared it with Pull In's turned off and then turned on there is not much difference at all. Was getting average of 8940 and 57 with pull ins disabled. I am about to try to pass PL7/Light

Hey Leeghoofd, I'm not familiar with vPLL but should I be manually setting that to one up from minimum (1.52vPLL) for an older E6300? (2MB-Conroe), currently I have that option set to [auto]
Also has anyone else substansiated jVidia's findings in regard to the board over-volting when left on auto? . . . could they be tied in to his specific board? . . . are we just assuming all boards act in the same way etc?
Thanks in advance for any helpful replies! :)
Well there have been several users that had about the same findings as Jvidia... there was one report that with the last bios the ram overvolted less , yet on my board it was unchanged...
Lower is ofcourse always better mate... but with 65nm you can pump volts... 45nm is more fragile and itchy about tweaks... anyway set it to 1.6 and test, try to go as low as possible... ( min is 1.52)
Hope you can do at least 450FSB daily mate
1.26 here mate for 500FSB and 1.36 for 600FSB benches... but it depends heavily on the CPU too... with my other E8400 I need about 0.02 less... but that CPU needs more FSB Term voltage and more Vcore... this is why it's so hard to give some settings to anyone... CPU (quad, dual core,...), Mobo , Ram amount, FSB, Ram speed used,... all these things matter...
Have you tried to reapply the TIM ? is that NB getting some good ventilation ? I got a big 20Cm fan blowing on the mobo...which cools NB and ram nicely..
Good luck mate
After all your efforts, so many different CPU's, it's maybe time to ditch some of ya hardware... crappy PSU, RAM ? cooling ?
