Well I switched to Vista x64 and added two more 1GB sticks. I am using 4 x 1GB now with zero issues. I am using two kits of Mushkin 996523.

When I get the BX2 I plan on putting high quality thermal paste like I always do on the NB & SB. How are the sinks attached on the DX2 it doesn't look like standard plastic pins.
I've been waiting for Auzen Vista x64 drivers. Have they finally released it?Quote:

Fits perfectly. I had to raise my fan a bit so that I could populate the first dimm slot, but yeah, it fits in there just fine. This info is also on the scythe site.Quote:

Has anyone had a problem with this board killing ram? It seems the 2nd blue slot is killing ram like its job for me. thats the 2nd stick of dominator c3 that its killed, the other one runs fine.
Vmch was at 1.5v and the fsb was 1.4v 3-4-3-7 2.4v just dropped the last timing by 1. What is with this board its a new board too as I had to buy a new one because last one had bent pins after. hmmm
the supposed dead stick will still boot, but soon as I use memtest it racks up about 1000 errors right after it loads and starts running the test.
It fried one pair of Crucial Blastix PC8000 at 2.32v 400Mhz 3-3-3-8 for me after running 2 or 3 weeks.:(Quote:

The new replacements just work fine under the same condition.
You need to measure Vdimm by a multimeter if you're really skeptical of the board. There is a post in this thread showing how. But, I don't think it's the board. If it is the board overvoltage, you have no chance to boot with the defective ram again.
I think it is the memory manufacturers to blame. They simply bin the D9 chips too aggressively, leaving less room of tolerance.:slapass: On top of that, you overclock them.:)
thanks god for your sig i was still waiting for my graphics card to arrive on my doorstep then i saw that your sig had a 8 meg pci graphics card so i found THE ORIGINAL Radeon PCI all in wonder and plugged that sucker in and started setting up my computer while i wait for the graphics card to come in on tuesday.Quote:

GPSeek, dude we seem to have the same setup. May ask how u got yours stable at 3.6? I've been breaking my balls but so far no joy. What are your BIOS settings for that OC? Cheers mate.Quote:

However 1 of my sticks of memory is dead
Cheers bro, but still no joy. :( I'm starting to think my CPU is a dud. Anyone else running a Xeon made in the Philipines? Batch number starts with a 7 rather than an L.Quote:

I'm getting really pissed off with this rig, no matter what voltage i feed the CPU (even 1.6V in BIOS) I cannot get it to 3.6
With my QX6700 I could go to 390 FSB, but my temp were reaching 70 (on Intel TAT), so I turned it down to 350 FSB. But it was no stable, so I decided to run at 266, and instead turn up the multiplier to 13x. Also, at 350 it needed 1.5V, and I was afraid the QX6700 will not last long, so I run at stock.Quote:

How did your QX6700 run?
It seems that thus it is… too many guys saying the same in many forums:mad:Quote:

the damn slot 3#...This is the reason for which I use value ram and very low voltages and defaults timings...:(
My xeon is L631b115Quote:

I think it killed one stick of my Ballistix too.
The strange thing is that when I put it in I don't get 3 beeps but hdd light keeps flashing instead and nothing happens.
The other stick used to boot at 1.8v, but now i need to use cheap ram to get into bios increase the voltage and only then it boots.
for how long have you ran your combo? I have ran my combo for a month or so and none of my mem has died.Quote:

I have been running this combo for about 5 weeks now.Quote:

thanks all (especially gtj) for your help. everything is up & running great!! my first build & it was relatively painless. running at 3.0ghz now. I will get it up a little more, when i have more time to test it.
the only thing im noticing is my computer is randomly coming out of sleep & then getting hung up with no video... I think this is a Nvidia driver issue (supposedly fixed in latest bios). but im not sure why my machine is even trying to come out of sleep mode.. nothing like getting woken up at 3am to my computer booting up... with all those damn blue led fans in there, its like im getting visited by a ufo.
Bummer, I was hoping you have some sort of beta driver you're willing to share.Quote:

Thanks for the link. Nice reading.
No problems with any slots here. I use 1 & 3 out of habit.Quote:
