On my P5WDH I can safely ignore any ASUS software and readouts. I'm still in build mode for the P5B dlx, but I suspect the software's the same.Quote:

yes, there are some small resistors- just like when removing the heatspreader off an Opteron. I used a very small screwdriver and just got it under the very edge of the heatsink. I rested the screwdiver on the blue PCI-E slot and pried very gently.... hold a credit card under the other edge so it doesn't :banana::banana::banana: when it comes off.
Piece of cake man :D
I just put some as5 under the nb, took off the tin cover, and put a chipset fan on http://svcompucycle.com/kd1204pkb1-3-86.html .
So did you take it out of the case and try the same ps or a different one?Quote:

Hey, a friend of mine wants to build his new machine based on the P5B-DLX. The thing is that he just recently bought a new 250GB IDE-drive which he intends to use to install Windows on. I know it's not the optimal solution, but will it work if the CD-ROM and the harddisk are both connected to the JMicron-port?
No i left the mobo in the case. Disconnected all 4 fans. Took out my hd tuner, soundcard. Still using the same power supply. Does this mean one of the rails are :banana::banana::banana:eD?Quote:

I remember a while ago that asus probe was alerting me to sudden drops in 12 V rail. Maybe this was a sign of what happeend. I'l ltry to run some stability tests and memory tests to make sure
Or something shorting it...
Well a way to test it is...
First get a dmm, put the system under load, orthos, 3dm2k3,5,6, grab one of the 4pin molex plugs, put the black lead into the black wire hole, and the red lead into the yellow wire hole. Check the reading idle/load. IMO, if it flucuates too much, I'd get another ps.
Got my Audigy 4 yesterday, and jeeees does it make a difference!
Boot is 3 bars, going through windows is how it should be with a Raptor, installing stuff is quicker, sound isn't disrupted when reading temps/heavy HD usage.
My view:
GET A SOUNDCARD!!!
My PC is just godly now :D
As far as the 1x pci-e problem goes i would like to add that 804 bios fixes it! :woot:
That was the only downside of this m/b and now it gone! I'm a happy man! :D
If you would, please.. What voltages are you running on the nb,sb,fsb, and what pci frequency?Quote:

where can I get the GPU core temp and frequency plug-in for MBM-5??
I'm using a P5B-Deluxe and a 7900GS.
try using nvtemplogger monitor for your card.
check FCG post for the mbm pluginQuote:

Sounds like frequencies are cut off and then some weird little chirps start. I really don't want to go back to the 4570 driver because of the slow boot times, so I guess I'll just play it in Vista with the default Mircrosoft drivers (much better!).
I had the same issue.Quote:

I had to do that more than once though.
works fine now
I think I lost my p5b dlx.
It shutdown while surfing, and it never booted up again.
When I turn it on the fans spin up 0,01 secs and then the system just shutdown...
Too bad
1. If I select VDIMM above 1.9V, the system is not stable, blue screen at windows loading. The ram is cold, it is not of the memory this problem! Help peoples!
2. Vcore is DROPING! 1.5V = 1.41V :slapass:
1.6V = 1.51V :nono:
Please help me! I'm with the last bios from asus.com (0804)!
Whats wrong? Is this board crappy?
No, the board is not crappy.Quote:

When I set 1.55, I get 1.54...
as for your vdimm problem... not sure about that one
And so I'm now with P4 (540J)..
Also the system restarts TWO TIMES before boot EVERY TIME I start computer (or after restart)... ??????????
And where the heck is the pencil vdrop mod! And can I damage the board with pencil?
