check for dust also!
i start getting occasional artifacts even at 133 fsb, also i just noticed that when i play music, it plays for a second or so, and then just stops.
i just flashed the board with the latest p4p800-e bios (1010.001 beta) and the exact same thing happens.
could it be that my board is     ed?
-edit- i just started prime torture test and rthdribl to test like bcn asked, cpu at stock (13*133), going without problems so far.im going to report back in an hour or so.
Chipset is probably overheating. If vAgp is greater than stock [1.5V] then set it to stock [1.5V]. If that doesn't help, then removing the chipset heatsinking and using some decent thermal interface.Quote:

You're welcome. Had the exact same problem. Was only in DirectX 7/8, not in 9 so I figured it would be the chipset ('cause 9 is pretty much all vid).Quote:

its fixed, that is what matters most to me. you seemed to be right on the chipset overheating thing, because now it doesnt artifact.
heh
Just extending my "w00t I figured it out"...:P
Guys whats a respectible OC for a 770 on air using the P4GD1. I can't get past 182MHz FSB (2.92GHz) but from what I've seen these cpus can achieve upwards of 3GHz "easily" have I just got a pap cpu or is it the board thats more likely at fault?
PS vcore is @1.6v !!!!!
2.92 is still quite respectable.
cheers wwwww, once I've done some testing I'll fire it into ur database  Was hoping for th big 3.0 but guess I'l have to wait for a very cold day to come round, or water coolin' :D
Hi guys. My friend have a combo Celer 1,4 Ghz + P4P800-VM.
Max stable oc is 2100- 150 fsb.
I tryed another cpu 1,4 GHz Celeron only different code.
The same results is 2100 mhz.
I think 2100 mhz is verry low to oc this cpu.
Its possible bad mb for oc ?
you're maxing the fsb of the chips. the celeron ms can't seem to get above 170 without a lot of work.
150fsb though.. . thats odd. try upping the vcore
What kind of results are being getting on 730/740/750 on extreme cooling
Itching to go for some Mach 2/Dice fun but can't afford any of the higher range chips
This is a little low for Celeron M, but it depends on stepping.. C0 versions are better than B1's (usually).Quote:

My 2 Celeron M's hits FSB166 (M350) and FSB170(M360).. that is 2.16 and 2.4 (stock air cooling).
Neither of them will respond to increased VCore...
Your friends P4P800-VM has no option for increasing VCore in Bios (I have the same board in one of my Celeron M rigs).
sorry, i dont got time to read entire thread...
but the problem is:
i got my PM 780 yesterday and the oc is quite nice.
2900mhz with freezer 4 + TT Volcano 12 fan @ min rpm and 1,51v
it was pi stable @ 2980mhz too.
but the problem is that when i oc with clockgen the pci and pcie clocks goes
to sky.
i boot with 133mhz fsb and start rising fsb..
i lowered the multiplier to 12 and hit 242mhz fsb.
but then pci freq was over 60mhz and pcie over 180mhz :D
it was pi and 3d stable but it didnt find PS2 ports and only
thing that worked was usb mouse :p:
so how can i overcome that sky high pci/pcie freq?
it was easy with pm 740 cos then i booted @ 200mhz fsb..
but i cant boot pm 780 @ 17x200=3400mhz and i cant chage multiplier either..
any ideas?
also sorry about my bad english :(

raiden
:D how can i boot @ 200mhz?
then its 3400mhz, or mobo lowers multiplier automatically?
anyways, little testing wiht my aircooled system:
http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/8...cano6xo.th.jpg
cooling...
bench voltage was 1,62v for cpu
max superpi 1m:
3180mhz
http://img348.imageshack.us/img348/9...0mhz1os.th.jpg
crappy time because of 187mhz mem and that was just cpu testing
max 3dmark:
3100mhz
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8803479
just testing, again 187mhz mem phucks things up :p:
damn that i dont have my GTO2 yet..
max screen was 3300mhz with same voltage(1.62v)
but i didnt do it becaus i tried 3350mhz and it freezed during "save"
chilled air, cpu max temp was 50C
;)mmm ;)Quote:

its NOT ES, just 780 :)Quote:

Two things...Quote:

Secondly:
If you follow the links/read this thread (search for P4GD1) you will find that you have to set the PCI-E freq to FSB/2.2 to be able to use Clockgen over a certain FSB > 200. For 250 you will need 115 (or that about).
two thing that i already know :rolleyes:Quote:

cos then i cant boot @ 200mhz fsb.
dont get me wrong, i did oc my PM740 exactly same way as u wrote and it had no problems. but if i boot 780 with 133 or 166mhz fsb speed then pcie/pci freaq is normal but when i rise fsb with cg then it goes to sky high.
i i know that cg lies about clocks but that it dont recognize PS2 ports isnt normal. and it makes me belive that pcie/pci freaq is higher than dothan 740.
cos 740 never did that
