My NB is burning hot. i.e. if I touch it with a bit of pressure for more than 2-3 seconds it will hurt
I will try applying AS5 this weekend

Won't that make it hotter since it should do a better job of moving the heat from the chip to the heat sink? Wouldn't you be better adding a fan to it or a bigger heat sink?

Yeah, your right. I think a fan is in order here
Here are some reading about all subtimings

Thought I would ask the same question here that I did under my ram thread. I currenly have a GA-EP35-DS3P and 4x1gb Transcend 1200+ sticks of memory. I can get it to run at 1200 by only using 2 (Either Set) but soon as I add the other 2 I can't seem to get it stable over about 1066. Anyone have some settings I could try to figure out this problem.
Thanks

Anyone herd if they are going to release a bios soon with .5 multi's for wolfdales?
DS3 has support for NCQ in XP ?
ncq requires ahci mode. officially, ahci is only supported on the ich#r's in xp. At least for the p965, so I'm not positive about the p35. But there are modified drivers that bring ahci mode to xp without issue.
Hey everyone,
I am having an issue with my P35-DQ5 v1.0 where if I increase the "CPU Host Freq" in the bios it is not beening set when I boot the machine.
eg, When I set the "CPU Host Freq" option in the bios to 400, after reboot looking at cpu-z it is only showing 266 default.
Now all of my memory timings (CL, tRCD, TRP & tRAS) are set to what I selected, which is on the same bios screen. Same with voltages.
Now I made sure that the C.I.A.2 is disabled. Does not matter what Performance Enhance I use.
This has only started to happen when I applied the F7d bios. Since then I have tried the latest F7 bios and also the F6 but still the same issue where the fsb does not reflect the bios settings.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Cheers
Wally
Has anyone run higher frequency rams other that 1066 on a P35-DS4? Id like to run something rated a little higher than 1066 dims. Anyone?
It's because you run FOUR of them. The motherboard OFFICIALY support 1066 and that is what you can expect. And when you run FOUR DIMM's it a lot hardef for the motherboard so running 4 dimms at 1200 is a lot of strain and as you have noticed, it doesn't work all that well.
I have tried it myself with my 1125 MHz RAM's and it didn't even go stable at 1066 and THAT I would have expected though.
See above, as long as you run TWO sticks you can go VERY high. I have rached DDR1350 with Crucial ballistix. So the actual RATING of the DIMMS are not important at all. Just the fact that higher rated DIMMs are just higher rated and you can expect them to perform higher. It will still be an overclock for the motherboard but not for the DIMMs.

Hello,
I´ve have just resolved my problem with E8400 an P35-DQ6 ... the cpu was damaged, but not physically...
Now I have new E8400, and everything is working... CPu shows 9x333 by post, EIST is working fine...
Also that wasn´t the problem with mobo, but with the cpu itself...
I have another problem with stability by overclocking, when I wanna go above 400Mhz FSB, the system is very unstable...itīs freezes or I often get BSOD...
Iīve tried worse memory timings, increased voltages (CPU, memory, FSB termination, moery voltages and others)...
CPU E8400+ P35-DQ6 (F7f), if I go at 3600Mhz (1.225V), memory timing 4-4-4-12 + extreme @2.1V, the system is very stable in all aplications...
but when a set the FSB at 425Mhz with the same memory timing as was at 3.6ghz system isnīt stable...
-than I have tried memory tim. 5-5-5-18/standard/+increase voltages (CPU 1,3V by 3.8ghz)...but it was useless
-If I tried E6750 at 425Mhz FSB the system wasnīt stable too... but a 2 month ago Iīd used that E6750 at 8x450Mhz a there was no problem...(BIOS F4, F6)
-Iīve thought, the BIOS is the problem, also I tried version F6, but itīs have got the same results...
-Any idea, where can be the problem? I think, there is something wrong with mobo from certain time...
Thank
If you heatsink is hot then heat contact is normal. Using AS5 or other won't give any benefits. But be calm: Tcase max for Intel P35 is 106 °C. ( http://www.intel.com/design/chipsets...nex/316968.htm )
F12B (for p35/ds4) support .5 multis, and its working fine ;)

Any 0.5 multi support for P35-S3 Rev 1.0?
I use to have an Asus P5B-Premium Vista Edition and with this board I could bring back from suspend on S3 with the remote, even could turn on the PC just using the "Vista Edition" receiver and configuring the MC Remote button.
Now I got a GA-P35-DS4 and I know that is mostly impossible to turn on the PC with the remote but at least I would like to bring back the PC from suspend.
I remember with the Asus board when I suspend the PC the usb devices stayed on, but with the GA-P35-DS4 it doesn't. I guess that when I suspend the PC it turn off the R/C receiver, how can I configure it to make it stay on?
BTW, WOL only works if the PC is off but it doesn't when is on standby, is this normal?:hm:
Thanks
ICS of DS3P?
look at the PLL chip on the motherboard.. it should say it.
on the ds3r it's a ICS9LPRS587EGLF
New bioses for P35-DS4 and P35-DQ6 in StationDrivers
What's the best BIOS for DS3R?
Is one of them more stable then the others or what are the advantages
Anyone have the DS3R with a Q6600 that has been able to OC higher than 450Mhz? I can get it to boot at 450Mhz x 9 but it fails in Everest. I put my voltage to 1.6 but because of the Vdroop it is actually at 1.56 which doesn't seem enough to make it stable. I thought about 1.8, but figured that would be too much of a hike in voltage and since there isn't anything to select between 1.6 and 1.8 i am kinda stuck at 3.6Ghz. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Utnorris
