Ah crap, I'm just about to order...haha, is the Opteron 170 really worth getting over the 165?? It costs about $100 more....before someone responds I've probably already ordered it by then.

I just ordered the Opteron 170!!! I'm so excited, haha, hope its worth the extra cash over the opteron 165. Will be a proud new owner.

The x10 multi is well worth the extra $ IMHO, you wont regret buying a 170 :fact:

I don't agree with that. The only thing that matters is final MHz. If it was an
8x at 400HTT stable, I'd take it. I'll take the fastest of the two, 165 or 170.

hi, welcome to the forum:toast: .. i was folowing the deluxx forum, and found out that most of you guys are running vpmw's @3ghz..since i dont know german, i'm wondering if any is having 502xx batcher there, coz i'm wating for mine and i'm dying out what he will do..my upmw is creeping out at 2850mhz with 1.55V (its 434L and 029 batch)..

Well, I got my new opty prime stable for 11 and 1/2 hours with 1.525 volts at 300x9=2700. Does this seem pretty good? It's definetely better than my current which gets stuck at 260x10=2600 with 1.475 volts. I was hoping for something that used a little less vcore

Thats with Defaultcore of 1,35Vc in the Bios. You can get with yours aruond 3000Mhz +-100Mhz.
No Chance man in the moment we are all still looking or new CCB1E0550VPMWs.
No or not much available in Germany.
only here are some good ones but very Expensive no nick.
they are shipping in foreign countries.

i cant find the vpmw's on that site, only pretested - 1 hour of prime is not stable for me at all:nono:, and the prices are way to high..well i hoping for 3 ghz with my vpmw, already have upmw @2850mhz..

did you try your max oc, prime stable? what batch do you have?

Wow, they are proud of them tested puppies. I tried to translate into english but couldn't. Does it say they do dual prime and for how long? Does it say if they used the stock cooler?

I have the same one. I just primed for over 24 hrs @ 300x9=2700 with 1.525 volts. Stupid core 0 failed about 10 minutes after that mark:slapass: I probably could get it to do better, but I'm concentrating on my new one I just got.:cool:

165 0550 UPMW at 3.0ghz, 1.65 vCore on single stage. I don't think the memory controller can handle anything over 275. System was unstable with memory speeds greater than that. Haven't had the chance to tweak the memory at 250Mhz, so Im sure it can run faster. Just wanted to find the max speed of the chip.

With water cooling you should be able to push this chip alot further than me. All I have is air cooling currently!
