Big thanks for help :)
Anyone why would i7 2600k not getting to above 5.02Ghz with any voltages, i can give 1.6volts, 1.65volts or 1.7volts and it wont go to 5.1ghz.
Its cooled by phase change.
I have also i7 3770k and same thing happens with it, wont go above 5.02Ghz on same board, i have posted screenshots from bios settings in previous page.
i7 2600k will do 5Ghz 1.380v and i7 3770k will do same with 1.390v.
no not 1.6v is a bad cpu ;)
Bad cpu, how come? Last time i tested on other board (Giga Z77X-UD5) it went to 5.4Ghz with 1.5v.
Problem is only with this motherboard and not with Giga.
I might replace this board with Gigabyte later if i cannot find solution for this problem.
Some Hynix CFR PBC action :P
Kingston HyperX KHX1600c9d3/4GB
Cost: 40€

Hmm
You probably can not run the speed at 5GHZ an 2800MHZ ;)

Thats 1x 4GB you need to buy 2 ;-)
I buy in a local store.
I didnt had time to play with them, since my last post.
My 3770k + M4E P67 isnt able to boot at 5ghz last time i try...
Was with some G-Skill PIS 2300mhz ics PSC that was doing 6-9-6 2133mhz.
Already sold them.

Hi guys!
I am thinking about change my MB to this asus MAxiums 4extreme or extreme-z. Im owner of a nice 2600k which works perfectly 4500 at 1.24v 24/7. I had MSI p67 gd65 but my mb is dead so i need a new one:) Tell me plz is there any difference in OC between extreme on p67 and z67? Price is almost the same so which to pick?;)
I would not recommend Maximus IV Extreme-Z for overclockers, i had 2 of these boards and bowth of them stop at 5Ghz. Gigabyte and MIVE P67 will do 5.4Ghz without much of problems.
But for 4.5Ghz MIVE-Z is ok.
Difference betwean P67 and Z68 is that Z68 supports :
1. Integrated graphics support
2. Use of Quicksync for video transcoding
3. SSD Caching
Hey guys how are you? Has anyone try the new BIOS 3603??? I need some help here, I buy this board and this is my first time using a 1155 platform. Can anyone help me to get a basic overlock???
Thanks guys :)
yes I use it
@Sharko google is your friend. This guide is a good start: http://www.techreaction.net/2011/01/...idge-v0-1beta/
sepol thank you very much for that guide!!! :)
i will recive this beauty in 2 days, im curious which bios is best for OC and most stable? i know that its individual thing, but there are some good ones and bad ones? any tips?;)
My bowth MIVE and MIVE-Z boards are running fine with latest 3603 bioses and 3770k and 2600k cpus.
MIVE running 5.2Ghz @ 1.425v (3770k) and MIVE-Z 4.9Ghz @ 1.40v (2600k) and theyre running pretty much all the time video encoding, no stability problems so far.
I havent noticed any differences in stability betwean the bios versions for bowth boards.
