Is there any way I can change PCI-E frequency from command line for either clockgen 954123 or 954119? I tried creating file like on cpuz website but it did not work. Tried PCI-E , PCIE, it simply won't change

FSB is changing just great but not PCI-E :(
And 954123 version does not accept file as argument :slapass:

cpu max 1m stable mhz seems to be 3180-3200mhz with 1.68v and air cooling, no matter what multi i use for cpu and i would really like to bench
12x267 or somthing cos i know that my bh5 can do even more @ 3.6v
no matter how many mem sticks i use, problem is still same, there is a wall @ 250mhz fsb
any ideas?:(
ill ask frank about the pciE thing, winterwind, did you increas the pciE speeds?
maybe your cpu just cant reach speeds above 250fsb?
and about vdd maybe you used a bad ground to meassure it?
PCIe is @ 117mhz for 24/7 and system wont boot if its any higher:(Quote:

your board is either damaged, or your vdd mod is bad, or your multimeter is bad...
i think your chipset mod doesnt work, no extra chipset voltage, hence no high fsb and pciE speeds are possible :)
I have finally got my xs edition p4gd1 up and running. :D My 3.3 voltage seems too low. It drops to 3.25 under load according to asus probe. I have an antec 550. My 12v and 5v are both reading ok. Are you guys using 24 pin power supplys? I am using a 20. I can only run 116 max pcie freqency. I also have a p4gpl-x and I can run 120 pcie with it. I even booted from the ite controller and still had a max of 116. Time to get out the voltmeter.
YAR!!! Found my prob. Twas my chipset volts and RAM voltage. :D So very very happy now that she's booting up at 2.81 comfortably. Lol, beware the tight DDR timing, she can be a such a cruel mistress! Experimentation tis the key. Still can't get clockgen and CPUID to work properly yet though. Hmm. Also it hits a wall @ 166 FSB, somethin to do with the RAM, once I get that high, it gives me another value in my frequency settings, for whatever reason seems to wanna run at PC2700. Hmm :S, oh well getting there with this board anywayz. Thanks Saaya, it's really been awsome.

yeah rthe p4gd1 is really buggy... its supposed to be a mainstream board but its more like a low end oem board if you ask me... the bios settings are really really basic and its veryy bugged, especially the memory divider and pci and pciE lock thing is annoying :/
just like the pentium m, this board is only usefull for benching or gaming :D
i asked franck about the clockgen startup pciE setting, he says he will launch a new version of clockgen soon and he doesnt support the old clockgen...
i suppose the new clockgen version will have an apply pciE setting at bootup thing then :D
not sure though... and franck is busy, so it might take some time :/

Sad to see but I have to say good bye to P4gd1 because my dothan died. Its core is so fu**ing fragile. I had absolutely no problems with my 5 AMD cpus with IHS removed but this is just nuts. Its crushing a bit at corners every time I mount a cooler. You can't see any defects from 1m, only if you closely inspect it. And Intel ofcourse won't RMA it because of physical damage.
Decided to wait Yonah/Conroe/Merom dual cores.
Or is there a chance to RMA it? At least my local Intel partner did not accept it for RMA.
said new kiwi, for any CPU without IHS, I recommend to use melting glue (use a glue gun) to place 4 drops of glues at four corner of the CPU organic package, use a flat heatsink to press them so they will be same height as the die. it might be a bit hard to do cuz the glue hardens fast when you install a heatsink onto it... :eek: so do it one by one is what I did to four of the CPUs of this kind, no one have been damaged a bit since then :)

Yeah but I did not have P4 heatsink which would fit good. I have reattached IHS on A64 using AS5 and silicone adhesive. Someone said I could make a copper IHS myself or at least give it to some PRO who would make it for me.

That is about the highest I can go to. I'm not sure which setting to try next? I rather not touch the vcore if at all possible. Do I adjust vdimm or pcie settings. I wanted to use my Raptor 74GB on higher PCI-E speeds also, so I bought a SiI3132 based PCI-E SATA controller.
This have to be one of the most troublesome card I ever laid my hands on (since I tried to get some old ISA NIC's to work in Linux :P). I used hours to find a BIOS that would make me boot from the Raptor and worked with the Windows driver at the same time.
The 7.2.23 BIOS would let me use the SiI3132 in Windows, but no way it let me boot from it.
The 7.3.05 BIOS would let me boot from the controller, but no way it would work in Windows 2000 or Windows XP. The only driver it wanted to install was the SiI3124 driver which resulted in an instant restart. I had to flash the board from DOS because no driver worked in Windows.
But when I came to the 7.2.20 BIOS the card worked like a charm. The 7.2.20 BIOS isn't even listed on Silicon Image's site, but got it from some Taiwanese or Chinese site. I'm currently testing the board at 127.6MHz PCI-E.

Is it just me being think, or why is it that my RAM can't run in CAS# 3 but fine in CAS~ 2.5 and 2? I'm tryin to get High FSB atm and my ram tops out at 270MHz, so I was hoping to get more wit hslacker timings. However when I set the CAS to 3 the machine won't POST. Kamerat, I notice you got it to work on this mobo, was it a case of simply setting it or did you have to monkey about abit?
would i want to use a pci-e sata controller, or pci controller.
i already have a sil 3114 4 port pci sata controller... should i look at getting a pci-e one.. or wait till they are a bit more mature?(for performance)
wont high pci-e clock mess with the controller? or does it have an indipendant clock like the pci cards?
I think the reason is BH-5. Never got BH-5 to run CAS 3 on this board or any of my Athlon 64 setups.Quote:
