If Gibbo's saying then there's at least a bit of truth in it....I don't trust a single thing from AXP1800, even about nV cards.

And I would like more proof, please....one etailer from the UK (sorry, but if Europe doesn't get any, I don't give a :banana::banana::banana::banana: ) isn't particularly sufficient as what's been understood so far is that the reviewers in Ibiza (all 90 of them or something) got to take home an X1800XT (or something like that).

Frankly, I'm only curious because I want to know when I should start packing up my 7800GTX so I can sell it at a decent price :stick:

Yup, I think NVIDIA did raise the bar too much High with full availability from day one. Hope ATI manages atleast half of it. Also prices better be in line with features and performances. Paying loads of money just to get 860/1900 and not real world performance in games means Foolish/Stupid and not Xtreme. Also Xtreme benching may be different from what many of us do at home. But then we all are humans and have our weakness :) to get better/fast things.

Wow Troman, you must be psychic, I didn't know an ultra could beat the 1800xt.... in fact I don't even know for sure what the scores are on an xt. But you also seem to know what the scores are on a card that was cacelled will be. Can you fill us in? "Throw me a frikkin bone here"

The Ultra was rumored to be the 32 pipe 90nm big brother of the gtx...but seeing that the R580 (ATI's 32 pipe card) wouldnt make it to stores before spring/summer 2k5 (ATI Shareholder meeting), nvidia decided to cancel it...at least afaik.

At any rate, none of the big companies are ready to release an update to their high end line without an update to their low and mid end. Remember, ATI might be behind in the high end market, but its (hopefully) bringing the nex gen low and mid end before nvidia.

I hope they fix up the RV530 too, cos for $200, i can already get a GTO which can do ~4500 in 05, so a jump to 5100 isnt a big one.

Agreed Perkam, I was thinking the same thing, unless there is something I definitely need in the x1K line up that GTO2 is looking like the deal of the century

No actually Troman, I asked YOU what the scores are on all these cards, since you stated as a fact that the mythical Ultra (yeah the one that was never made) will beat an X1800XT (that's the card not released till tomorrow with no certifiable benches yet), I figured you must know what these scores are?

I just went back to 60hz for approximately 1 minute (i have a good old CRT) and I wanted to gouge my eyes out. It is really bad, at least for me. I really really hope ATI fixes this problem with the r520...

but here's my prediction for the r520 launch : I think they are going to do what Nvidea did and just have everything available--x1800s and the crossfire motherboards @ launch... But we'll just have to wait and see...

As for the mobos, they are just "sitting" in the basements of the shops - at least here in Greece - for about 2 weeks ready to hit the market with a sign....If I'm not wrong, the DFI ones.... ;)

But if you overclock x1800 what will happen :).
There are other things in x1800 that can make people sell their 7800GTX :).
