1. can you give me any suggestion to get 1T with my Vitesta 600?
2. I flashed bios 510-3 and 510-1 because I read on other forums 510-3 is for TCCD while -1 is generic. Here I learned that 510-2 is for TCCD, can you confirm this? Anyway with 510 I was able to get 1T @ 260 only setting 3-5-5-11 passing MemTest+ but definitely smashing performance into thousands of pieces....My PSU is an Enermax Noisetaker 600W v2.0, if this can help.

From my experiences the 310 official bios isn't that great, the 310p works much better. 510-2 is not made for TCCD, it's made for BH-5/UTT. However, several people have got the 510-2 to work extremely well with their TCCD (not me though). I'd really try the 414-3 if I was you, it's been with my TCCD. If nothing works then you can always fall back on he 310p. And leave the RAM in the orange slots. Hope this helps.

Thanx - but unfortunately it didn't help... this is so strange, because the gap between Memetest and Windoors usually isn't that big (Memtest ~275; Win ~245)

I have several questions :)


1st. My G.Skill's 4800LA (TCCD 440 Brainpower 808) are in the orange slots, I changed the position (keeping it in the orange slots) and got only WORSE results. Should I try the yellow slots? People usually say that the yellow slots are better for high-voltage modules.

2nd. I had a Venice 3000+ LBBLE 0516 (terrible, 2.4GHz and 1.5v), now I'm with a LBBLE 0515 (nice overclocker, 2.7GHz and 1.475v).
But its memory controller is a bit different, in the old 0516 my memory stabilized at 300 2.5 4-3-6 1T with 2.7v, now, for the same result, it needs 2.8v. Any tips?

PS.: Old Venice = 300×8; New Venice = 300×9

2nd - It wouldn't be that hard to believe that even though the old Venice was a bunk overclocker, the memory controller could have been slightly superior. My 0516EPKW needs 1.72v for 300x9....less then desirable...but using anything OTHER then 1:1 offers no benefits.

Looks like I'll be switching to an LBBLE 0517APJW right away, so hopefully the mem controller is still pretty decent, but I'm basically looking for closer to 1.4-1.5v for 300x9 instead of 1.7v. :rolleyes:

Now I realize that with the new Venice I need more that 2.8v to stabilize my memory =/.

With the old Venice, 2.7v +5v (~2.76v) was enough, now with this Venice I need 2.8v +3.3v (~2.9v).

Can I use it daily without problems? Is this safe?

You'll be fine...no worries. That's still not really THAT much voltage to be running through it, there are plenty of people pushing more then 3.2v through their ram /w Venice chips and they're doin' fine...go for it. :toast:

I can't flash bios 310p! it says bios is of wrong type! anyway, I spent all the noon trying to stabilize these adata pc4800 @1T. The weird thing that is driving me literally crazy is that they are not stable @ 1T even at default speed (400mhz, that is 200...)!!!! How is it possible??? On MSI they were @ 1T all the time even @ 260mhz! At the end of the day I still get stuck with official bios 310 (with bios 510-xx I can't get my two Maxtor 300Gb SATA HDD recognized on boot after a power off). I am going mad, I think I will crash this board or my adata!

my board is drivin me nuts right now. After switchin several times between TCCD-based Ram and other sorts like BH-5 and TCC5, it simply won't go stable anymore at anything near normal level.

My BH-5 were doin 250ish before and my TCC5 260ish - now they won't even clock more than 210.

Same with the TCCDs. Can't move em to be stable at 260+ - which ain't no problem at all for those stix. They 've proven to do that before.

Oh well, time to RMA that dang DFI. By surfin thru a german board I found out that some more DFI users are experiencing those problems with this board. so i guess u shouldn't switch RAM too often. :slapass:

Did you change the CPU between tests?
I mean was the TCCD stable @ 260ish with the cpu you are using now?
Cause it might be the mem controller. Give it a thought.

Nope - still the same old Winchester from 2004

But that still might be possible, since the iMCs CAN be damaged by high VDimms. At least back in the old days of NC and CH. I might try a small Venice and see how it works. Thanx :toast:

I doubt it though - since the BH-5 and the new TCCDs (I just got em a couple of days ago) all won't hit anything at normal level.

Has to be the Board. I'll get another one or the new Abit with 3.55V VDIMM.

this guide is awesome. i had to use 2.5-4-3-8 to get my plat. rev. 2 tcc5 to work, but 300 fsb is nice.

i got 2 my goal of 70k on am3 with 1 6600gt with these :)

and here i just can't stabilize my la's at 300 2.5 3-3 no matter the bios i try it's so far away from the stability... when i get into windows i receive a wonderful BSOD :D

Try more voltage (2.9v and above), see what happens. If you tried everything then I guess this TCCD won't do the speeds. Increase Max. Async. Latency (value ~ 9ns) and Max preamble read to 5ns. (~ 5.5ns)

If this does not work try 2.5-4-3-6 1T. The Trcd has a great impact on stability and offcourse some loss in performance by 100-150Mb/s bandwidth. (depend on CPU speed)

LA's are rated 2.5-4-4-8 2T DDR600. If they do 100% stable 2.5-3-3-7 1T then you have a pretty awesome kit.

Thanks for your opinion, it's going to be very important for me.
I'll try what you're saying, one thing that's different: my memories / my memory controller simply hates Bank Int. off. I get MANY errors in memtest compared to Bank Int. on.

Wierdass problem after using this guide. Here's the story:
I was getting stabilty issues (ram faults, used stock cpu clock - 300x6) memtest86+ was clear of errors for 1/2 hour. I left it and at the 100 loop I got a double error, same in 114, 138 and 142. I let it finish 150, when I did I have 8 errors on memtest.
The wierdest thing is when I was playing GTA I lowered the HTT to 200 and kept the "tweaked" memory timings, and boom the game crashed several times.

Timings I used:

These are the settings I used to get my GSkill LE stable at 308Mhz, the biggest thing was changing Tras, with Tras at 7 I was getting about 1 error every 4 passes of Test 8, with Tras at 8 its perfectly stable.

So I've been trying to get stable with my A-DATA DDR566 2x512MB
with lower timings than the stock ones (3-4-4-8 @283) and I've
done it at last after many many reboots and memtests :)
So I have the sticks working stable @285 2,5-4-3-7 1T
now with my Venice 3000+ 1:1 @2565.

I hope I'll manage to reach 300 stable so if you have any ideas
please let me know.

Thanks mate Dave! I will try these settings as soon as possible.

But the problem is that there isn't any option in BIOS (I use the 310p)
to select a DRAM voltage of 2,85v (that is normally the voltage that
my sticks need to work!)

So until now I've been using the 2,80v (which result in 2,78v) and the
2,90v (which result in 2,92 I think and the sticks don't like it really).
I know sooner or later I'll flash a newer BIOS as 310p, but is there
some BIOS where I can select DRAM voltage more detailed? :confused:
