My CPU makes me mad. It is the cause of me not being able to hit high clocks. I can't even get my CPU at 2.2GHz and clock my RAM at 250FSB. This really sucks.:( What is a good Skt 754 CPU to get?

I HAVE FINALLY DONE IT!!!! :D :D :D :D :toast:
512x2 @ 270!!!!
I have gotten 300x7.0 with a 9/10 Divider giving me 270FSB @ 2.5-4-3-10.
I ran MemTest86 and I got no errors during Test #5. Thank god!!! What was funny was that MemTest86 said my RAM was at 300FSB but it isn't. Here is a screen.
EDIT:
And here are my other bench results..
SuperPi: 41s
3DMark03: 7,223 (441/375 *GFX has more in her I know...*)
hmm, would these sticks take me to 285-290 on an asus p4c800dlx fully votl modded?
Well these sticks kinda top out at v2.9. After that they get really really hot. If you are going to do so I would run a fan that pushes some good CFM on the RAM.Quote:

Awaiting my replacement from RMA....
I really hope to do 300MHz stable.
How long would it take to get it ?
No idea.
OCZ confirmed that they got mine yesterday and promised me to replace it as soon as possible.
Next week i guess.
Nope, no pics unfortunately. I am sure I can get it to 250 or thereabouts, but I think I am nearing the limit of what my clawhammer will do on air. With my multiplier set to 10x I am edging close to 2.5GHz. Timings are set to 2.5 3 3 10 and I am getting roughly 3800 in sandra and 35 seconds in SuperPI. I tried going 3 4 4 10 briefly and got 250 bench stable. Not sure if it was 100% stable though as I switched back to 2.5 3 3 10. I got some more bandwidth out of the memory according to sandra, but I lost time in SuperPI.Quote:

I want to get back into gaming and all. When I feel like it I will mess with it some more. But today is my last day of my vacation and I am not going to have anymore time to mess with it at all.
Run low timings and you get simliar results i guess in games.
No need for this high fsb i think.
I am also wanting overall performance though too. In everything. Really I am happy with 250FSB. I just want alittle higher CPU clock...
You hit the nail right on the head that's what i'm aiming for myself. I love to bench but i like games even more. As long as i can get my new sticks of bh5 to 250+ i'm happy. I was going to drop the money on some g.kill OR the 3200el rev2 but they're around $280'ish and for $100 i got 2 sticks of Kingston bh5 which i thought they didn't make anymore but it's all over atm. I'll probably break down and get some 3200EL in a month or two once i upgrade again but until them i'm happy.Quote:

Anyone get the new OCZ PC3700 Rev3 yet?
JNav89GT and I just co-authored a review on both the GOLD 3700 Rev.3, and Platinum 3200EL Rev.2. It covers the memory's peformance on an Asus P4C800-Ed and Socket 939 platforms; http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&articID=229

keithsuppe@gmail.com write me if your ever bored and want to hear me babble more.
What timings did you run at 265fsb on the rev 2 ram in that review ?
Nvm just found it.
2.5-3-3-8
ibid
You wrote Cas 2.5 4:4:8 @ 265mhz in the review.
Did you try 2.5-3-3 ?
I can do 275 on this, but its just one stick.
Think i buy one more just for fun =)
i got 2x 512MB OCZ PC3700 Gold rev3 here, tested 1x 512MB stick of it on my DFI NF3 250Gb did 275mhz 2.5-3-3-8 at 2.8v very easy, the last 5-10mhz for 280-285mhz 2.5-3-3-8 took alot more tweaking and a bit of vdimm to hit it... so i'd say 275mhz 2.5-3-3-8 is easyQuote:

Would be helpful to read them.
You do good "reviews" with much info, very nice of you!
I posted general mem info specific to DFI NF3 250Gb here http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=142 but in depth memory results will be posted later, still getting the feel for the DFI settings and how different ram interact with this board :)
You havent tried any other tref then 200mhz ?
200mhz for me lower bandwitdth alot.
I rather use 166 7.8us
nah haven't tried tref yet heh
