But it still bothers you, thus you are expressing your feeling/s.

Are you just trolling or just completely did not understand my statement? I don't care about EA or its security or piracy etc etc. Besides I'm already very gainfully employed, but thanks for the suggestion anyway.
That's true but there are stupid opinions. Many (most) people who purchase single player games probably don't finish them. Having a very late beta out in the wild a month before launch will invariably limit sales from such people because the beta is enough for them to occupy the limited attention they can devote to any single game. Instead of paying $50 at launch due to hype and getting bored with the game after a few levels/hours, they will pay $0 and get bored anyway. Still, the company is out $50 - i.e. the leak will impact sales.
steady guys

Most of the people currently downloading/playing the beta would have probably done the same after launch anyway so nothing lost there. What's lost is launch day hype which has now been replaced by leak hype. There's some population of people who have come across the free version because of all the (relatively) mainstream coverage and publicity of the leak and wouldnt have otherwise because they're not regulars on the piracy scene.
Can't find the statistic now but IIRC launch day/week/month sales account for a huge chunk of a title's revenue over its lifetime. If that initial rush of purchases is dampened by an early leak like this it could certainly mean millions in lost revenue.
id like to see some survey to prove that point before stating it. if its true then one can say that single player games are dead since MOST people never finish them even after paying for it.
not only is that factor missing, but many people would also wait for it to drop in price before even purchasing.
this is much more about the shock value of saying you have a beta you can play that you "acquired" rather than skipping the game all together and playing this beta. of the 10,000 people downloading this, i bet less than 1000 are lost sales.
Who said there are only 3 hours of gameplay?
Ive been playing single player for over 6 hours (on veteran difficulty) and still haven't finished the game yet.
And im generally pretty speedy at games ;)
Oh yeah - and its been pretty awesome so far. The graphics are great (lighting is very good) - cant wait to see what the final version looks like.
Here's one very recent survey on the topic - http://tbreak.com/megamers/18514/new...g-results.html
Add to that 15+ years of talking to friends and seeing anecdotal comments from random people on the internet and you can be sure that giving up on a single player campaign is not a rare phenomenon. It's not a new one either but it has gotten worse since we now have way more things competing for our attention so it's harder to devote enough time to one title in order to complete it. Single player games certainly aren't dead as a result though, people will keep buying them and keep not finishing them.
There is almost no reason for most people to ever buy a PC game at launch price or at full price.Quote:

Single player games are spoiled once you have played through them, and if you can't max it out you aren't getting the full experience. Why get ripped off? You can wait till you have the hardware to enjoy it properly as it was meant to be seen a couple video card generations down the road, and get the game for a fraction of the price!
Now if you've got the cash to have shelled out for a rig that can max it out, than no reason not to waste cash on the full price.
With a console on the other hand, I know I can run it full tilt the moment it comes out, so the pre-order or at launch purchase makes sense.
Any sort of high end PC game pretty much auto drops into the "wait till I can run it buy it cheap" slot.
Some elements from san andreas should have stayed but drunk driving(driving is better period)+euphoria+better iq = worth being called new.Maybe you want gta mmorpg w/256 player servers.Where you have to micro mange the avatars life like the sims but in 3rd person gta style.

Correction:
The United States was founded as a direct result of tyrrany. The singular time we've embraced Piracy was when the Sons of Liberty boarded British ships in Boston Harbor, dumping their tea into the water.
The British on the other hand funded and supported piracy for hundreds of years. If you wanted to rob French or Spanish ships, all you had to do was apply for a permit with the local British Governor and agree to give him part of the loot. hehe.

Wow. This guy is not only a math wiz, but he's a psychic as well. He actually assumes all these people who downloaded this beta would actually pay $60 for this game if they couldn't get it for free.
Everyone knows there are stupid opinions. Saying there aren't reminds me of the idiocy that has infected western culture, especially pertaining to how kids these days get "participation awards" and other such nonsense. The ideology of having no winners and losers that has permiated society will eventually lead to it's downfall.

I liked the first Crysis even though "Prophet" sounded like a self righteous knob.
Ah, privateering. But you know, pretty much everyone was doing it back then. During much of Louis XIV's reign, most of France's income (would be called GDP today) came from ransacking every ship that passed anywhere near Frech waters.
Fun fact!
a bit of history never hurt anyone

OT much? Seriously, none of this is related to the original topic.
What topic? Game got leaked, we all get to point fingers at each other over who wants to spend the least amount of money over a product not worth the asking price.
someone post some nudes in here to lighten the mood.
