"V2" Koolance *Dual D-5* Bay Reservoir! (RP-452X2)

Phil maybe I missed it but why are you not using the entire reservoir? Also if you were going to only use one side why did you choose the side that has previously had bleeding issues? Just curious? I read in your previous posts that you wanted to do the pumps in Series. Did something happen to one of them or was this just simply a test to see how well the new revision was set up for bleeding on that side? I have the same 1.3 version and currently am just running one D5. I have the reservoirs joined and have the pump placed on the opposite side that you do.

This is just a test to evaluate the bleeding efficiency of this product

Ahh Thanks... I will be adding another pump here soon. I was going to wait until I bought a LGA 2011 board and CPU but now I am thinking about getting one before I do all that. So far I like the reservoir though.

Im not sure where to install a single pump as on http://martinsliquidlab.org/2011/02/...x2-rp-452x2/4/ he installed a single pump on the left side from behind view but it looks like that with rev 1.3 its now on the right side ?

id say the right hand as you face it. ive got v 1/3 but running seprate loops and the one on the right bled faster than the one on the left,

Currently I am only running one pump and that is how I have it setup with the pump on the right side if you are facing the front of the reservoir. I believe Phil tested just running one pump on the left side to see how well the new bleed kit worked and it looks like it works very well. I would still go for the right side though IMO until you add another pump.

My Rev 1.3 have the preinstalled "Block of Plate" on the right side if you are facing the front of the reservoir thats why i installed my single pumpe on the left side (P2 marks on the RP-452X2)

In rev.1.3, the pumps correspond with the same side as their reservoir. The left front reservoir uses the left rear pump. In previous versions, these were swapped so the left front reservoir used the right rear pump. We flipped them to make things a little easier.

If you're only using one pump, I'd say use P1 (side without the bleed pipe). But every system is unique, and some people have an easier time bleeding P2.

I'll be using a single pump and I'd like to use the whole res (that is with the long plug removed) on a rev1.3, would you still recommend the P1 side?

Just finally got around to filling my loop, a rev1.3 with a single pump in p2, and it is not sucking any water. Super paranoid that it's been running dry now. :(

you did remove the long bolt/nut thing that keeps the res's seprate and fitted the shorted one in didnt you?

left it running all day today, appears to have cleared the air out... made a s.hitload of noise in the meantime though!
all good now.

yep happened to me as well, both pumps made a heck of louad sound for the first few hours

The pumps can be quite noisy when bleeding, but all is well for my case. Took around 3 hours to fully bleed.

It's gotta go somewhere :). We still debate among ourselves which RP model and side is easiest to bleed. It really seems up to the individual loop and user.

I currently own rev 1.2 of this product and have not been very impressed. I have a strange issue with the bleed kit. On the right reservoir (the one with the bleed kit on this revision) it looks like bubbles are getting stick behind the acrylic insert and not much water is actually making it to the reservoir. Very little water is seen shooting out of the small hole on the top of the acrylic piece nor is much water being pulled through the pipe, I can tell, thanks to the smaller bubbles during initial bleeding. As far as I can tell the acrylic piece and the pipe are properly inserted.

At one point the bleed kit did work as described, but after a few installs/cleanings it appears that it isn't working as originally intended. My question is, is this a sign of a pump issue, or is it a reservoirs problem? The flow rate in the loops is great as far as I can tell.

If the pumps are fine, I think I'm going to replace my rev 1.2 with 1.3 since bleeding the loop appears to be more painless. Also it looks like the baffles on the left res on 1.3 have been redesigned/improved, which is a huge bonus.

This product has been so bitter sweet for me. Incredible space saving design, but the annoying bleeding, and now my weird issue with the bleed kit have made me want to get something else. But, really my only option, is another RP-452x2 and just hope newer revision is better.

OP was updated with Rev.2.0 pics. The path design is now based around our RP-401X2, so no bleed kit is used. Our 180º serial pipe and acrylic bypass are now included for Rev.2.0. The user manual linked on our website describes installation and combining of the reservoirs in better detail.

The front stainless steel plate (of 3 shown) has a G 1/4" plug below it. The plug is simply removed to combine the reservoirs:

Just to be 100%, without a doubt clear, this will work with any D5 right? I have one (a d5) from dangerden from way back that I'd like to use with this and a new Koolance pump as well.
