I would be there's no need - Martin does some good sound testing I've seen up on YouTube :) Good thing you know exactly what testing equipment I have and that I run a business using a lot of this gear. I'm not interested in testing for other's benefit nor do I have the time. When I come across negative aspects of components it's natural to want to post more information about that than posting my love for some components which doesn't really benefit anyone; even less so than when I find things wrong with components and post.

Ah, well it feels like a less dense and cheaper top then unless that's just my experience ;)

p.s - Penguins, strange enough... Martin just posted within my 40-45db range there I found with my setup using the MCP35x on full blast. I guess I SHOULD do more testing ;)

if you're saying that there is less material therefore less cost, then yes, but there are also things like it's not a giant rectangle with a volute and g1/4 threads, it requires more time to be machined because of it's a smaller size.

the real question is, which has better performance? the 35x with ek top, or stock custom top from Swiftech.

I don't know the exact stuff you got, but I can guesstimate that you have a sound meter, whatever that's called for real :) what do you usually test for biz?

Something I just thought of, this pump was more or less designed for the 35x res to go on top, and might help with the weight to noise ratio. :shrug: jus an idear.

edit: I'm comming from a DDC-1 so it's prolly quiet to me haha.

there is honestly not a big difference between the 2 tops but the MCP35X gives the highest pressure between 0.5 and 2.5 GPM (which is a very realistic range of working flow rates for 95% of the systems)
