Again Hardware?
...A little less mental disorder forced me to buy a new monitor. So far I possessed 20 "LCD Samsung 2053BW, your precious time TN. Many would have decided to upgrade to a 22-24" IPS would not be unreasonably bad, but ... I bought a TN panel again. Specifically, 24 "FHD 16:9 BenQ 2410XT. Submission paint is not perfect, I've noticed as a total outsider, but I was tempted by a 120 Hz low inputlag. And all for 9200 CZK. I could have easily otherwise decent IPS PA series from Asus for a much lower price, or quite acclaimed LG 235P (about 5000 CZK).

Adjustable + pivot and image/resolution interpolation are a great bonus, I will use 120 Hz as a former professional player of QIII, now only occasional Quakelive game. The monitor is also very stable design and hilarious, at least, this plus.

I replaced the original paste Coollaboratory Liquid Pro. It will soon cool new AMD CPU AMD FX-8350. Meanwhile there is still ticking decent bit FX-8150, which gives 4800 MHz with only 1.44V stable (most needs at this frequency and 1.48-1.55V or even reach).
Not only FX but benchtable testsystem requires heavy RAM, G Skill 2666 11-13-13 are ideal especially for Ivy Bridge.

Mate, you know the 2666 C11 contain Hynix chips, right? If you want Samsung get the 2600 C10 models of Trident-X.
-
I have Samsung 2400 c10 TridentX, so I wanted now somethig higher :)
-
Have you benched yet your new ram with your new FX ? Formula-Z i guess, or not ? :D
-
only 2400 MHz Tridentx with air...but maybe at Monday with LN2 ,-)
-
Patiently waiting for screenshots... ;)
-
to time only this with AMD stock liquid.. and TridentX 2400 modules at air

Great....2480 10-12-12-31....What was your top with same configuration on CH V ?
-
about the same...But I was conservative in dram voltage, max 1.7V
-
what g,skill tridents do u recommend for CHV +8120?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231589
do you use the 2400mhz memory divider in the CHV bios?
was considering a good 2x8gb or 2x4gb kit to replace my 2x4gb mushkin 2000mhz kit ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820226188 ) they dont seem to OC very much ;(
can't decide on either 2133 or 2400, was just wary on which ones work well for CHV with fx-8120.
-
I use the first one. 2x 4GB.
-
G.SKILL Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C10D-8GTX

got these guys per yur recommendation ;)
hopefully they are samsungs chips right?
excited to get to testing, hurry up newegg!
-
Some this chip are with Samsung and some Hynix :).
-
mine arrived but I think both my sticks are DOA
red dram LED lights up on my crosshair
tried every dimm slot single/double no boot not even post?
gonna try a different mobo tomorrow before I send them back for rma
any ideas?
-
Hmm they worked in my friends fm2 mobo but only at 1866 and after alot of restarting
Still boggles my mind that they didn't even post on my Crosshair
-
at Trinity with 2T?
So, do you have the same TridentX? And C5F board? You must try DOCP profile and load it. remmeber, you must increase CPU/NB voltage a lot. And DRAM voltage 1.65V will be ok. I tested it before at "old" C5F and with FX-8150...no problem.
-
I have CH5 and 8120
And same gskill tridentX 2x4gb 2400 kit as u
Tried in saber tooth 990fx booted at 1866 fine but anything higher no post also doesn't have 2400mhz mem ratio.
I'll try my ch5 board tonight again but otherwise these are going back
I'm just gonna set mem ratio to 2400 and all timings to auto
And I'll try DOCP
I'll set mem volts to 1.65v
And CPU/NB to 1.2375v
That is if it will post lol
I'll update later tonight
-
Update Bios on the Sabertooth? Mine does have 2400 mem setting..
-
I got 1503 bios for sabertooth 990fx mobo
But that machine has a 1090t
I really just think they are bad
I'll try CH5 and FX chip tonight
Btw the sticks I got are single sided with xxxx15000 serial
So most likely samsung
-
ok got it a little better....2133
Oese yur right there is a DOCP 2400 profile on sabertooth
http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...identx2400.png
http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...identx2400.png
DOCP give me 2 profiles for 2400
#0 2401....
#1 2399....
note: not worried about cpu clock at this moment, just trying to make these work at 2400mhz lol
so there is hope as last night i was ready to pull my hair out
if theres anything ive learned from overclocking is slow and steady baby steps
however i havent gotten it to boot anything over 2133.
edit: yah this is max i can get stable on the 1090t with air cooling...anything over 2133 doesnt post....
-
I think, 2400 DOCP must be fine with C5F (and FX of course).
-
-
1252 is very nice! I got in hyperpi "only" 1224 :-)
-
tbone8ty,
did you try 1090T on CH Formula V, or with 1605 Bios ? Or is it optimized only for FX ?
flank3r,
any results from your new toy ?
