Nice bclk and uncore! Any chance you could post settings for that speed? I'm guessing skews became crucial at that speed, I've managed 220 stable.
i love this board also.doing some quick tests to see what vcore
is needed for 4.5GHz on my new 980x,and so im impressed.:D
i know its not stable,i'll run blend after i hit the lowest vcore.

i love how this cpu at 4.5Ghz just demolishes all the everest benchmarks.
will do some benchmarks soon to see how well the chip does:up:
and then i will experiment with the unlocked multiplier.see if it requires
less vcore for similar frequency using a higher multi and lower bclk.:D
thanks sergio.i got lucky again
thank you much zsamz:DQuote:
omg you hit the cherry
well here are some benchies at 4.51GHz
with cinebench,i still dont know why it reads at 4.3GHz like the 920's using the turbo 21 multi.but i have the 980x set to 21 and turbo off?

Wow, that's nearly 20x better than an i7 extreme 965 on the AES bench! Even these lower end UD boards seem to push out some amazing stable clocks. Mine will be under water asap, ned to see what this i7 can do. So far (on stock cooling), I've managed 3.7GHz with 1.152vcore and (I think) 1.39vtt. This is with 218x17 and has scaled 100MHz with 0.05v, so if it continues to scale uniformly (particularly on h20), then I should be looking at 4.1GHz on 1.25v, 4.3GHz on 1.35v, and 4.5GHz on 1.45v.
I'll post a screenie shortly...

Two weeks ago!!
Got it under water within an hour of getting it home. Alas, I was at work, then out to watch the England match followed by some drinks, so I just ran a stability test with the pre-saved 3.7GHz profile as above:
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...037GHz1744.jpg
After I got back (and admittedly a little drunk, but capable), I ran into this:
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...205x211640.jpg
Well chuffed so far - a 9.5sec SPi1M stable system - I knew these i7's were good, but wow, so efficient! Vcore isn't tuned down, but just want to run past the large FFT tests and save this profile, then see what more I can get out of this beauty!
Can't pass from second run on linX even on STOCK SETTINGS GOD DAMMIT!!.
But i can reach nice scores on 3Dmark 06

Hi guys, my problem with 24/7 oc wasn't the MB, one of my sticks of ram have problem :(.
this weekend i will ry to post some 24/7 but with 2x2GB for the moment, also i'm looking for 3x2GB kits from G.Skill, trident or ripjaws maybe.
Regards from Chile.
I get a nice config for 24-7 :D.

Nice CPU clocks, but I'd like to see someone push some Elpida Hypers on the UD3R. I can't do jack with either my UD3R or my UD7.
wow, just 1.27v for 4.2GHz! And such a low QPI/VTT as well!
I'm going to settle for 4.2GHz too, nice round number, and still works out as a much faster system compared to my Q9650 at 4.4GHz - and to have a sub 10s PI 1M stable with lower volts all round is nothing to complain about by a long shot!
Anyhoo, here's a shot of my stab at a good PI run at just 4.76GHz - still waaay too hot to try anything harder, my water's running luke warm when idle :(
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...HzPI1M8596.jpg
Temps are definitely the limiting factor, I'm on air reaching 80ºC running LinX at these settings, outside ambient close to 28ºC, room temp...34ºC
Venomous X is a great cooler but isn't miraculous!
I just bought a ud3r (rev 1.6) and set it with an i7 920 and a Zalman 9500led cooler.
After a lot of reading and less effort, i achieved what you see in the attached screenshot.
I only changed
QPI/clock ratio (x36)
Memory multi (x6)
uncore (x13)
vcore 1,17500v
all other voltages are stock
I am satisfied with 3,8ghz.
I don't like to have my ram underclocked though.
I have a 6gb Adata kit rated at 1333mhz - 8-8-8-24(1,65v-1,85v). As you can see from the ss, i have my ram at 1200mhz - 7-7-7-20 with 1,5v ram voltage.
With the above settings if i put a multi of 8, then my ram will run at 1600mhz, that is way too high.
Can you suggest me any other combinations of multi/bclk that will allow me to run my ram close to stock frequency and timings, without raising my voltages a lot?
or maybe
As we speak about a gaming rig, do you think that i should leave it as it is, because i will not notice any differences by raising the ram frequency ?
Thank you!
Astrachan - try this to help find ratios: http://overclocking.gogar.com/corei7.cgi
What is the difference in Rev 1 & 2 of this board please? I can't seem to find out any information on the web.
Thanks!
Thanks for the help! =\
Wow, you guys get sweeeet OCs! I just got the board and popped a 930 into it. I only have the Corsair H50 for cooling but Im hoping for a decent OC anyways 0) I would like to keep HT and Turbo Boost on tho. HT is not that important but I like the idea with TB alot so I will see what I can come up with.
@Anemic,keep us updated with your progress.if you have any questions
theres a lot of folks here that can help you out:up:
i will have a new W3520 soon so i hope i can achieve a nice 4.5GHz OC
with it like my 920 and 980x.im sure it will be a breeze with the x58A-UD3R
this board has never let me down, great OCer for sure
