Folks here are getting away from the facts of this and all that does is cloud the subject.
Points:
1) RRR was banned from here for shilling for other sites.
Think about that for a minute please.
It speaks to character and his agenda.
A desire to promote himself and make money and/or free parts by constantly promoting certain companies.
Take the time and read his posts here yourself and you'll see what I mean.
This wasn't a vendetta by me or anyone here towards him.
The action of banning him was purely in the interests of seeing the people here not be pushed to any one company by someone with an agenda for doing so.
2) The mass bannings, 32 of them to be exact
This took place because of actions by one of RRR's members: Worthy.
He posted a disgusting homosexual picture in Ashraf's birthday thread with Fugger's face photo chopped into it and then went back to RRR's site, posted a screen shot of it there and the "group" all came in for a good laugh over it.
Then another disgusting pic using chopped pics of Charles and Vapor was posted at RRR's site by Joel himself.
After viewing comments there that said to me they were coming to post those here and also to crap the threads in the LC section it was decided to "get rid of them" for the good of XS.
I then spent over three hours going threw threads in the 'It's a surprise show" threads at RRR's site and made a list of the people who were posting what I call "Hate posts"
and those 30+ people were banned here as they seemed the ones that would be coming to post that crap here.
That thread has been edited extensively by Joel in the last 24 hours but I have over 30 screen shots taken before he edited them out.
After the bans were done there were at least two more postings here of the pic done by Joel and they were immediately removed and the posters banned.
Then there was a post by KaptKrunch on RRR's site soliciting people to do a DDOS attack on Xs with XS's IP and info posted there.
As to B*P-Vincent and Bits-Power that is and has been Fugger's call not mine.
He saw something that evidently set him off and thats between him and those involved.

Now you read all of the above, add in that those that know me know ALL I do is with the best interests of this site and you tell me if you think we overreacted.
We had two choices;
1) Stand by and ignore this and hope he just went away.
That wouldn't happen.
Your dealing with a megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur who thinks he's God's appointed person on earth on the subject of water cooling even though as far as I can find out he's never even completed one water cooling build.
2) Take preemptive action and remove the potential disruptions to this site and that is just what was done.

The stuff they are posting is also a clear violation of their ToS, I personally have enough info to send to their ISP to get the site pulled if I really wanted to. I personally couldn't care what they say about me as it's only words and honestly, I've seen 6th graders with better insults. I just sit back and laugh at their folly.

let's not dwell on a past and move forward...
and when on these forums, ignore the tone in which the message was delivered... look beyond it and read at the knowledge behind the message...

mods, i'm sure you will do what you deem fair... and in cases that it does not seem so to the public, we will voice our differences and as with this case, i hope that you continue to hear us plead on behalf of those who cannot voice their pleas...

Preemptive banning's? Thats a new one :shrug: Does this mean I am gonna be banned because I am a member over there and might step over the line someday?

That is what I've tried to do with my post above and in post #71.. To say to the members here that this is what happened and why we took action and that action needed to be taken because of actions of posting filth here, seeing that the people at RRR appeared to be setting up to do more of the same and then after the fact seeing people there enticing others to bring a DDOS attack against us.
I don't go to that site daily looking for crap. I was sent info in a PM that "Dave, you might want to see what these guys are planning" and once I did passed that info along to Charles.
I spend my time here with friends and honestly, sites like that have nothing to offer..
They play to the children who get a kick out of being able to post four letter words and the mental cases that are so unhappy in their own lives that the only joy they get is in holding others up to public ridicule.
More to be pitied than hated in my opinion.

I don't think anyone disagrees with the bannings. But blocking the name of a product? Effectively putting it in the same class as an expletive? I think that one speaks for itself, and even though I don't believe that was the intention, that's how it's gonna come across to a lot of people, and just be downright confusing to others. Elegant it is not.

As I said above, that was Fuggers call not mine and I had nothing to do with it.
I can understand why he did it at the time but I do agree with you that it had the wrong effect and I have said that to him.
Had it been my call I'd have banned the guy, emailed his company and told them he was no longer welcome on the site and done deal.

My thoughts exactly. If it was Vincent acting on his own, then there is no need to ban the company as a whole. If he was speaking on behalf of the company, than i can understand the B P ban.

If it was as bad as you guys are saying it is, I hope all the info was sent to B P.

I think everyone can get over the bannings. I mean if they were bashing your site and posting inappropriate pictures then its understood. If you felt it necessary to do pre-emptive bans on possible troublemakers so be it.

However filtering a companies name/product is just low IMHO. Especially when its a company that has brought valuable products to all of our lives/hobbies. That and its mentioned in every other post in the LC forum.

Your treading a slippery slope for filtering out things you don't like/agree with. Where will it end? Please just remove the itspower filter so we can move on.

You think they are ludricous and thats your right to do so but what I saw differs with your view on things and since you are a member at RRR maybe that speaks to why you appear to be so interested in this thread.

My actions were taken because of the posts of those individuals not on any feeling I had.
Had I not seen hate in their posts then they wouldn't have been added to the "list" ..
It wasn't arbitrary and it wasn't everyone on his site as is obvious as you are still here as are many others.
