[ Project ] : Altair | A Lian-Li PC-P80, dual loop, all internal build

Heh, I was just typing out an new update :P

So the system is now complete with a few changes:

I've decided not to bother with the UV lighting as it is going to make the internals of the case far too cluttered.

I had some minor problems with algae in the reservoirs which you can read more about here (including how I got rid of it).

The final task that is left is to get some really nice photos of the case put on here :P.

I've tried and tried with my camera phone but they just keep coming out blurred. The lighting at this time of the year is terrible as well so all the photos look dark. If anyone has any tips on how to take good photos with a k800i camera phone I'd be in your debt :)

I hope to get the pictures up soon and officially close the "build" section of this project.

I bought mine from Performance PC's - good place to get things like this.

PT Nuke will take care of the algae. I've never been a fan of the silver strip. Personally I'm skeptical that it doesn't do a damn thing.

True, but I'd rather pay more for the better service you get from PPC's.

Nope, I meant Performance PC's. Always been really good for me.

I've never used Frozen CPU so I can't comment on them.

The things you've made are amazing, the hard work, the passion, just everything. Good work, you have given me a great idea, how to surprise a good friend of mine and help him make his rig as special as he deserves to be :)

As a quick update, I'm waiting for a sunny day when i can take some nice finishing photos but it's rained so much the past month or so.

I cannot wait to see the final pictures :)

Hehe.

I'm going to be moving house again soon, so hopefully I can get the photos taken then :)

Quick update:

Just about finished my move to Cambridge, UK.

Will be getting my comp and everything else shipped down in a week or so and I should be able to take the final photos then.

I may even put the UV lighting in :)

Thanx for your worklog eponymous it has been very helpful with mine, even tho im still Cable sleaving.. the Pictures are VERY helpful to a first time Watercooler :-)

I read the worklog several times and I liked the simple and smart ideas used in the project and the outstanding level of attention to detail and execution that you put in the build. The attention to detail, the simplicity and the flawless execution has come to define the casemodding that is practiced here and has pushed it to the rank of a fine craft. I have to say that XtremeSystems is the best place in terms of casemodding.

I'll be posting the final pics soon as I've taken them and sorted through the best ones. They aren't as good as some of the pictures on here as I only have a camera phone :)

Ok guys, so after a long wait, here are the final pics. I've not put the cold cathodes in as I think it's going to clutter the inside too much and may look a bit tacky in this particular build. I really like it as it is :P You'll notice I've added a DVB-T and DVB-S/S2 card to the system for Freeview / Freesat :)

Many thanks again to all of you who've supported and helped me throughout this (long!) project. it's taken over a year to fully complete this project and there were times when I thought it would just stay a pile of unopened boxes forever.

Ground is ground, whether it is a different lead on the same power supply or difrent leads from difrent power supplies.
myself I run dual power supplies and power my video card from both power supplies.
