Well, I keep getting these unrecoverable hardware error bluescreens from prime that don't make sense. I've never gotten errors like that before so I don't know if it actually is the cpu or if something else is screwed up. I wish the temp diode actually read below 0 because it just says 0 for me, but the bios reading is -10C at the stock speed of everything and stock voltage.
And yeah it is pretty funny that you got the same stepping when you live in ohio with me.
I got mine from the local microcenter.
Dumo, could you post your stepping and the motherboard you're using?
And for people to post later on, please remember to post everything to make it easier on me when I add you to the list.
Edit: I think I may have found the problem with high multipliers. When I booted up with the 18.5x one AOD would get completely screwed up readings of me being at 4.5ghz instead of the 3.7ghz I was actually at. Hopefully setting the multi through AOD won't do the same thing or it'll be time to complain for a new bios.
Old guy did you pack the cpu socket with dielectic? I had that problem the first time I ever used phase, It was condesation jumping across pins because I didn't pack the heck out of the socket with grease.

Guess demonkevy666 has found a good batch from what it seems so far 2 3.8's stock volts is very impressive.

Another CACVC AC 0849DPAW... that makes three of us.
@ chew - I might try that eventually, but it never gave me a problem before. I keep the underside heater on with a little power to make sure it evaporates or something like that.

Ditch the heaters, and get some eraser and pack it in the backplate and front plate ,around the socket and all around the head :up: and pack it with grease trust me I lost the MMC once without it, chip became a 754 single channel...........It's fine without for some testing but 24/7 is a No No.
If I set 1.55v in the BIOS I can run 3.9GHz with AOD. 3.7GHz is the limit with 1.45v for me, so it looks like I made a good guess there.

I am going to keep experimenting with 3.9 for now. I need some more voltage tweaking to get it stable.

3.6ghz is no go on stock volts, trying 3.5ghz now.
I'm on air, vista 64 bit here.
been benching with generic cpu bench. simple yet it puts full load on the cores quickly and load @ 3.5ghz stock volts.
idle 36C load 48C.
old 9850 idle 3.0ghz at 1.475 volts 44C load 57C.
I'm just doing small fft's atm. I want to find a base point before adding voltage into the game.
Edit: I might also need to do some windows updates. The computer isn't connected to the internet so it doesn't have any updates other than the drivers I ported over.
3.6 is working now oddly enough. Stock volts and all. So now I get to complain to Asus that I want a new bios so things stop screwing up...

Good to see more chips getting tested. Do you guys like being able to download it in a word document or is it about time for me to convert it to a gif so it can be viewed on the page?
2.1.5 is what I have installed currently. Windows is my only non up to date "program". And I will work on getting the list converted over to a gif over the weekend.

That stuff never works right. It makes you sign into google first, and not all of us like google accounts.
Dynamic PNG is the way to go (not gif).
