We all have different talents and skill sets, that is what makes this place so great. Here one can learn from people all over the world and have a chance to ask questions that only the internet and XtremeSystems make possible.
Being an HVAC technician I have seen many talented people in many different trades. But what makes people good at what they do is also what gives us such strong feelings about things. We all see things from a little different perspective and have a chance here to show someone else a new angle on the subject. Some here have sponsors and do very nice work and others do equal builds but have not been approached by sponsors, yet. :)
Life is way too short and there are so many things in life to get upset about and this is not one of them. We all have a New Year upon us and a chance to put old differences aside and practice our passions together. We all learn from each other and even the senior builders will see something new in another's work.
So lets lift our glasses in toast to the talented people that make up XS and to the builds yet to be imagined. :toast:
Can I file your name under phase change d00ds? I have one person who does them for me but could use other refrigeration people in my cyber-rolodex. I get people across the country that ask me about doing builds and working on stuff like phase change units (just because I have pimped one before). It would be good to have people I can refer out to (including people who can do good water-cooling builds and all).
+1 QFT
I'ma noob. Been building rigs since ~92. A hobby to me and nothing else. Never got bored with it so I keep building 'em. Still gots my copy of Widows 286, loose leafs and all. That and a whole shoe box of 386's, 486's, co-processers , P4's and RAM chips that are useless 'cept I cant throw anything away... you should see my pile of motherboards
Just started this liquid cooling stuff so I come here and pick yer brains. Most here in the LC section are sincere and really do help out noobs like me w/ out pushing their preferred parts by name. Martin comes to mind  I get a kick outta seeing some of the works of art posted in this thread :D ...
Here's a build I've done a few years ago, Vapochill LS, Watercooling on 6800GTX SLI's, Abit Max3 and gfx cards heavily v-modded - this was at a time I was chasing Fugger in 3dM01/3dM03, if memory serves, I was number 5 to 7 in the Hall of Fame for a while :) Fond memories.

Here you can see the infamous VTT mod I performed on the Max3 to get competitive clocks - I think I had the 3.4Gig EE Intel Extreme CPU at something close to 4.95 gig - very high for that period in CPU history.
It was giving the then CPU of the time, AMD's, a very big run for their collective monies :)

Rofl at DarthBeavis :)
Yeah, hardtubing's nice in any setup, but it's difficult to do maintenance on if required....that system there was just a benching rig, I always enjoyed having a decent system to bench on, considering the "caseless" systems the other benchers were using - it's a nice difference....
Anyway, one of these days I will do a nice 15mm hardtubing (copper) setup in my HP Blackbird case....right now I am doing a quick Li-Li A20 with Asus Z7S/dual Harpers etc....Feser 480, MCP655, et al.
Having fun :)
Here's another system I put together for benching, with my 2nd Vapo LS - this time round, I used normal tubing - the gfx cards on this was later liquid-cooled too.....

realistically the only difference between an amateur and a professional is that a professional gets paid for his work.
That would mean that all of us that build systems for others and charge for them are professionals.
Now does that mean that I and someone like Cyberdruid or mcoffey, etc are in the same league? Of course not.
Like everything else in life there are different skill levels and interests.
I can be perfectly content to sit back and enjoy their talents.
No feeling of collapsed ego because they can "do it better"
I did cabinetry and mild furniture building as a hobby for maybe 10 years.
Pretty good at it too.
Then I sat down and looked at some pieces built by Brother Esau here.
If you want to talk about talent then ask him to show you some of the pieces he's built.
Museum quality and I am not exaggerating.
A true master at work.
