this is my result with 4.2Ghz (without tweaks and single-channel!)

Nice result Chri$ch!
I just hit order on my Ud5 and 920...
No, its ~58% OC :D (2.66 * 2 = 5.32Ghz = 100% OC ^^)
Vcore is a bit high for the speed imho, running 4500 air at that speed.
4ghz stable at 1.25v
3400mhz @ 1.120V ( air, Intel boxed cooler )

Chrisch, nice result but you need more efficiency :D

Nice CPU, my 920 need 1.36v for stable (prime) 4Ghz :(
hehe, i have only crap memory -> need a good tc kit :D
Edit: my first SLI test on GA-EX58-UD5 (8800GTS G92 SLI)

i donīt know because i have no tri-channel kit :(
I did 4080 MHz with the 920 and Corsair Dominators shown 6 posts above, that was with 1.5V though which may be a bit uncomfortable for most of you.
Can someone give me a hint.
I have a Gigabyte X58 Extreme (F3 bios) & i7 965 & 2X 1gig Corsair 1800C7.
On an X48 my memory has done 1960MHz @ 7-7-7-20 2.1v
But on this board I can't get it below cas# 10 @ 1600MHz
Currently on BCLK 133, memory 2:14 1860MHz, uncore on 28X. Vtt 1.50v. IOH core 1.30v
I set cas#9 & it posts with cas#10.
Nevermind, two days of frustration & it turns out it just sets cas to 1 higher than what you set in the bios. tRAS also.
Bios set 7-7-7-20. I tried setting cas to 6, but no post. Any chance CPU-Z is just reading cas# wrong?

Whats the best memory to be using, I was going to by a 6GB Kit but didnt want to rush for the bad overclock memory straight away, any ideas?
For what i read the locked versions need a bit more voltage to establish the high bclock, don't think its realy needed for cpu speed.
this i can do @1.39v with a proper fan at my true cooler, room temp 22C , no case.

Had 3 of them 2 where a bit less, not much but 2 bclock lower.
Chri$ch how can I switch 130W TDP protection on ex58-ud5?
Thanks in advance :)
can we use any ddr 3 ram with i7 or something special like triple channel ?
Currently 3.81 GHz here on a 965 using 158 Bclock.
The P6T automatically raises vCore if you leave it on "Auto" and raise the Bclock. I passed 12 hours of Prime95 with Asus' auto vCore of 1.42, so I'm experimenting with lower vCores to reduce temps which were edging over 70C.
Failed at 1.25 but it's passing at 1.30, yay!

What do you guys think would be best for achieving a 24/7 4000-4200Mhz on air stable?
I checked hwbot and noticed that the 920's get capped at around 3800 or so while 940's and 965's are neck and neck at 4200-4300Mhz. I was thinking the 940 would be my best choice. Mobo will be a Rampage II formula (if DFI get's nothing out in one month).
What do you think?
Able to hit 3.8 GHz on a i7 920 on a gigabyte x58-extreme.
Using air cooling (TRUE 120).
Vcore 1.375V
QPI 1.260 V
190 FSB
8:2 RAM
36x QPI
16x uncore
Temp max: 56 C (good airflow)
One thing I'll say is that bringing the uncore multiplier below 16 made it so I couldn't even POST past 3.5 GHz.
I'm also running into a weird situation with RAM (like a previous poster here), where it adds 1 to the CAS latency in CPUZ.
