Its sawed with small tiny circular saws.
Wery precise and time spending machining.

Sure it looks similar. But don't Apogee, D-tek, Sapphire, Flow, XCPC also? Perhaps even more...
EDM with a wire can't be used in a such geometry and you won't be pleased to know the price and time consumed to do that with a 3D graphite matrix using EDM.
A typical circular saw milling cutter (and more probably mounted on a train with several of them to make it quicker) is far enough to make such channels (not very deep). Nothing difficult.

Not knocking your block at all and I completely agree with you about most blocks on the market being based on previous designs. Performance increases in todays blocks, it seems, is achieved mostly through advances in manufacturing and/or through combining elements from existing designs rather than true design breakthroughs. Even the Heatkiller block I linked to is basically a Whitewater with tweaks. There's certainly nothing wrong with having a new block that out performs the previous generation at the same or better price. Perhaps water-block design has reach a plateau, but as a water-cooling enthusiast I am still hoping that a truly innovative design is just over the horizon.
BTW, I'm a great admirer of the workmanship achieved on all your blocks and best of luck with the Supreme :up:
Eddy, that midplate confuses me. I personally don't see how it would aid in the performance of the block. Mostly I just see it adding heavily to restriction. Could you explain how it works?

You beat me too it! I was looking for that pic. I remember seeing that one (or one very similar) and thought Eddy's mid plate looked a lot like the one Watercool uses.
I've been very impressed with Watercool's blocks. If Eddy's block performs anything like it he will have a winner on his hands. :up:

Yes I have noticed some backplates have too small holes.
As 7499richard have written there is simple solution.
Drill them to a bigger hole 4mm diameter, or use existing hardware that you currently have.
The M4 screws are 60mm long.

Regarding the mid plate.
We are using different jet plate for the reselling version. Much less restrictive, but only a slightly worst performance.
We eill also offer a different jet plates for extreme performance and one for high-flow.

The blocks comes out from production this week, so we'll start shipping as much as we can evenly to everyone.

How long until we can expect to see these blocks down here in Australia? I know www.flabbergast.com.au has quite a few EK chipset, mofset and GPU blocks, but so far no EK CPU blocks. Any word on if they'll be getting in the new EK CPU block?

I use server/workstation boards with dual sockels, I normally run dual loops with each CPU, Will the extreme with your high-flow plate performe on par with Apogee or Fuzion regarding flow?? Will 2 on series give me good performance in both CPUs???Quote:

We had problems trying to find good company for polishing and chroming.
We got one now. Because of that we will start sending the blocks to resellers and distributors on Thursday.
Please be patient while requesting the blocks from your reseller.

Regarding the jet plates :
will both versions be included with the block?
On the backplate issue... am I the only person who drills thru the mobo tray and passes the mounting hardware thru both the mobo and the tray?? Completely eliminates mobo warping. If downforce causes warping, then I use spacers between mobo and tray.
Annoyingly yes, but s'no particularly big deal until yer mobo tray ends up looking like swiss cheese. All depends how often you change guts vs how often you change case. Personally, I always tend to change everything at the same time.
