I have a quick question regarding the F3 5000+ chips. Are these built specifically with the smaller cache or do they simply have cache disabled? I can't see any results in this thread but does anyone have any experience with them? I have my eye on what I think is a ACBVF 0650UPMW with a batch number of 0055. What could I reasonably expect out of a chip like this at ~1.3V?
If it is an F3, I would believe you could hit 2,8 / 3 GHz, maybe even more, but there is no guarantees. About the cache question, I really don't know...
Saw the database updated. The last 4 letters on my CPU is VPMW, so the full stepping is;
X2 3800+ CCBVF 0706 VPMW
Below is my 24/7 setting. Biostar 7050-M2 with on-board video.
Load @1.312V

A great HTPC setup (up to 720p, though unfortunately 1080p would require a discrete GPU)
Ok my 2 month old new 6000+ CC8F-0720XPMW did 3.55@1,58vcore all day with Air or 3.6 on water@22ambiant room temp . So i went on the hunt for another new one and have found several NEW CCB8F-0728GPMW in SantaClara Microcenter! there are a few 0726XXX ones as well and they even have new bathces for 5600+.Sorry i forgot to right the 5600#down !Im in process of redoing my water loop and changing the fluid ,then ill see what my NEW one will do . I shall keep you all informed. This is the highest stepping i have ever found on 6000+ ,i believe its higher Batch than the Kick A$$6400+ tested above! Im lil new to the batch number game but ive been cool picking chips so far....
Note :if you call Microcenter they will read the batch # overphone for ya too!
I will be keeping the IHS on this one and will be shaving it down to 1/64th of an inch for core support .Also there is only a 1c differance between shaved IHS and No IHS on my ApogeeGT. Then i can use a Bow method on it with out crushing Core. My old 6000+ is bare but can only be used with a flat WaterBlock :yepp:
Curious ocing wise, for stability... i usually run 250x13 @ 1.375V with ht link 5x250 (1250) all works smoothy... After hours of prime 95 with dual threads i get 50C load on both cores... this is with a 8800gtx in loop on a zalman res!
Temps wise i think before OC my cpu would get 49C so only added 1C temps wise.... Amd max cpu temp is?
My ram @ 800 setting give me pure 1000MHZ ram.. my ram is rated @ 1066mhz mind so i thought for 24/7 use could get the cpu fsb to make ram 1066mhz i think its around 260 or something.
Max is around 60c from AMD for 6000+ 125watters and 65-70c for 5600+ and below 89watters:up:
Even around 55c-58c is good overall for high OC and High Vcore ,do set a Oc Temp limit and dont push it past the limit too many times if you want Cpu survival:yepp: I say too many times because this is Extreme and Extreme has no limits :up:You are safely below the AMD Max, no worries bro:yepp:
my 5200 loads 45C at 3180@1.39Vcore. amb is around 25C, dont have thermometer in room...
i have to redo my wc loop, i have 8600GT+NB+5200+ on tripple rad...
woll make that rad cpu only. and second for gpu+nb
im stable at 3300@1.55Vcore, but temps seem hight to me (55C) if i turn fans to full, i can go to 3.3@1.52V so it looks like im temp limited here
finally done it.
core speed 3.405.1
multi *15
bus 227.0
ht 908.0
volt 1.488v
how can i show cpu-z val on hear
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=237574
6000+ @ 3578mhz (255x14) with 1.47 Vcore : HTT @ 2554mhz (255mhz x 5 x 2) : DDR2-900 @ 1022mhz (800mhz divider) 5,5,5,13,2t - All air cooled :)
Okay seems something is holding me back as i can use stock volts all way upto 3450mhz but over that around 3.5ghz sudenly even upping from 1.35 to 1.6 no changes... still wont stable in windows.. this is limit of the CPU or ive hit a wall if so how big 100mhz 200? :(
But still im happy with:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=237569
Thats with Bios v1.565 (Max mobo allows)... actuall Vcore is 1.6V mind...
There is a 0.2V offset i could use but wouldnt wana do more then 1.6v otherwise might perm damage CPU
what are your temps like on the two cores?
Mine vary enormously :( Not good sign for OC
I've checked the seating of the HSF..no probs there.
The X2-3800 I had a while back ran like this....and clocked badly (2550mhz MAX under WC at 9c idle:eek: )
The X2-3600 I replaced it with went to 3ghz on stock HSF and 1.52v but the cores were like 3c-4c difference all the time.
This X2-6000 runs upto 3670mhz so far albeit a tad unstable (completes Pi 2M and little more) ....core 0 is fine it's core 1 that bails. I'd like to have seen where it might top out with equal temps.
Temps wise on both cores, 30/30C idle... upto 45C load
This is on a Zalman Res :D
Your core temp differences seem very odd?, corrupted ur chip allready or voltage spread unevenly who knows
Im running 24/7 usage:
3250@ 1.4V with Mem 1000Mhz (5-5-5-15).. and mobo 1250FSB.. gives supurb stablity and to be honest while gamming i dont think id notice another 250mhz on core would also mean mem divider lowered resulting in lower ram:(
Try uping your CPU to NB volts.......This makes Cpu lil more stable above 3.3Ghz and set your memory timing (TRC) to say around 24 ,,this helps the memory controler when using tight timing... The X2memory controler likes higher TRC ,at least on my Deluxe it does with Patriot 6400LLK running @1000+mhz :yepp:
I have a 5200 on the way: CCB8F 0721TPMW
Will post results as soon as I have the chip.
It will be air cooling with a Scythe Ninja at the moment. I may switch to a Thermalright cooler at some stage soon though, for the better mounting mechanism and the possibility of removing the IHS.
If I can get near your ~3200Mhz for daily running then I will be happy? What cooler are you using and what temps does the chip run at?
im using custom (read cheap) water cooling on cpu+gpu+nb.
load is 47C right now
this chip goes to 3.4Ghz at 1.4V but is not stable, need 1.55V to be stable :(
but hey, ~3.2 is really good.
in comaprision to 3Ghz brisbane i had, this thing flies...
sad that theese are soldered to ihs. it least i think....
i've seen some destroyed X2 on another forum. All was "Copyright AMD 2006 R" and it was 5200+ non EE version and FX-62
there was a tumor that all that is (C) 2006 is soldered, but my brisbane (C)2006 wasnt. so i really dont know for sure, but better be carefull.
mine is 24/7 stable a
3172@1.39V
3211@1.42V
3300@1.55V
Hey mad man, whats your watercooling setup comprise of?
Whats full load temps i.e with prime or dual super pi??
Ive fixed my instabilty problems got my CPU-NB mobo volts @ 1.4 and rock soild @ 1250FSB!! maby this is what was holding me back from only getting to a crappy 3525mhz @ 1.6Vcore on cpu??
My load temps 45C with prime 95 dual threads 1hour in.. mobo seems cool to the touch with good airflow.. reads 38C whateva that reading is lol
And lastly when can we get hold of 6000x2 89W editions??... or will be able to get phenom sooner??
Apogee (non gt)+mcw30+mcw60+actiontech tripple rad(little bit smaller than mcr320 but higher density fins, sicce micra pump. according to flow estimator ~1.15GPM
but i have too little time on my hands, i have to redo my case and make this a cpu only loop +separe loop for gpu.
Orthos cpu test+real time hdr i get 47C (46/45 for core 1/2) on cpu, temp probe near rad intake reads 28C. idle is 35C
and i have to lap the cpu, omfg, too much to do...
i hope that with lover temps, i will get higher with same volts. I have my cpu loaded for whole day, so i dont want to run 1.55V all the time. dont want to pay for that power...
