First test with 2900XT Crossfire in 3DMark 05. Cards are on stock cooler doing only 880/990MHz, 35k should be doable with more gfx power.

dam this is a nice score, cant w8 until u break 35k
wow...2900 is realy showing some power there...and on stock coolers:toast:
IMPRESSIVE SCORE KINC!
One could wonder what it would be on 2x16x PCIe board and cards under some cold...
Kinc you crazy bastard... Keep it up. :)
I wanna see 35 ;)
I know you can do it, if you won't I'm certain elmor will ;)

nice
compare to top of 2005 orb
8800gts sli 30045 3dmarks
8800 gtx sli 32966 3dmarks
8800 ultra sli 33605 3dmarks
the latest drivers (7.6) should give it a boost =)
hd2900xt 3dmark2005 score super good
don't worry there is always 7.7 etc. lol
awesome scores as always kinc. no doubt they will go much higher soon.
anyone else getting stuttering in 05 firefly test? costs me a bunch of frames right as it starts it is 145 then stumbles drops to abot 40 and back up to 100 plus. i wind up with 1000 frames in first 10 sec. but occasionally i get 1350 in first 10 seconds with no stutter but it isn't repeatable?
also in cpu test trolls lair frames drop to single digit when trolls are on screen but i get awesome framerate when they arent.
so i think there is some major improvements coming in future drivers.
yes... in Firefly 05-06, and GT3 for 3D05... a big stutter folowed by a big lost of fps... strangely at this point of the bench, the fps should be same.
I have the same problem. I have a fealing it decreases with higher PCI-E clocks, but it is so random that it is hard to know. Also LOD set to 15 seems to help against these slow downs.
I have the same stuttering. Default and increased PCI-E levels. So far it doesn't seem to be hampering scores significantly.
elmor and I have been benching a few days now struggeling with a bad QX6850. So we went back to P5W64 WS Pro and the good old QX6700.
Finally over 25k with 2900XT Crossfire :)

Very nice result Marcus! :D
Is that the max the cards can run or is there some headroom left? The CPU is a great clocker for a QX6700. Even a Q6850 could not be that much better.
Alot of headroom :) Just need the software to run it. 5050MHz should work with this QX6700 on P5W64 afer some fine tuing of the voltage and temps. A good QX6850 for Blitz Formula SE or Blitz Extreme (with micron chips) would be the best. Blitz is really tight, the performence is quite alot better than 975X boards.
Nice job Kinc and Elmor, I can't wait to see what you can do with the new gpu pots.
Congrats Kinc! I'm even more anxious now to try '06. :D
say kinc and gautam what are u useing for cf OC'ing ?
Congratz guys!
As always amazing job
PS. Is that run on Cat7.7? And what operating system is now best for CF actions??
Great :toast: ... as always ;)

Clocks via bios. Voltage by the vmods shamino explained in his R600 review. Still waiting for new catalysts to fix the CF oc problem. If there were a way to disable the 2d to 3d switching like with R580 it would be posible to use the latest atitool for overclocking cf.
