You still need to load the JMicron drivers for the IDE port to work, you can choose the RAID or IDE option when loading them. The latest drivers are located here - ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/

I have not had any issues with the B06 BIOS and lowering the multiplier. You need to have both Thermal Control and EIST disabled (C1E before loading the Beta BIOS).

Thank you very much for the reply. The problem is deeper, as the jmicron firmware does not appear during the boot sequence even though I have a pata dvd-rom attached to it. I have tried setting up the drivers you suggested and I get an error that no jmicron adapter is found.
As for the multi issue , I have all 5 options in the cpu feature menu set to disabled (tm, cpuid max, disable bit, virtual. ,eist).
I was wondering if all this could be attributed to a bad bios flash, so I flashed again with the parameters /py /sn /cd /cp /cc , removed the battery, left the cmos jumper in the clear position, and waited for a few hours. The results were still the same, no jmicron controller and no multi adjustment. This board has left me quite confused. As much pleasure as it gives me with the performance it has to offer, it gives me equall frustration trying to set it up as a 24/7 rig.
I would also like to ask if anyone could get negative temp readings on the cpu using any tem-reading-prog, since uguru is stuck at 0 deg and speedfan's readings are off the chart.

Execute Disable Bit should be enabled, the other four options disabled. As for the JMicron controller, go into the BIOS, Onboard PCI Devices, disable the JMB363 controller, save, and reboot, go back in, Enable the JMB363 controller, change the function to RAID, save, and reboot, go back in and change the function mode to IDE, save, shutdown, then restart. I have seen the BIOS get confused with the controller before. If that does not work, betting some how, some way the board is probably bad or the BIOS load could still be corrupted, might would like to go back to B02, verify if the controller is working, if not, RMA it.

Thx. This results are straight boot from bios, since I havent found any other software (besides guru) that can change the fsb (neither clogkgen nor setfsb worked).

To be fair i have D9, and ive never tested looser then 35, maybe i am loosing some huge overclockability..

just to tell everyone that i have a Q6600 on the QuadGT (beta bios 06) and i am in windows at 400 FSB, 500 Mhz on the memory speed...all four cores engaged at the moment with sandra burn-in doing the cpu test...core temps stay reasonable but that PWN phase 2 temp goes out of site every so often.

Is anyone using the Intel raid on this board?

I flashed to the 11.B06 bios and it takes ~3 minutes just to detect the drives, otherwise it seems to work...

So, if your Intel raid is working, what drives and bios are you using?

defintely not right about the detection length...i will eventually migrate to Raid but it will be a week or more before that happens...how many drives are you using for raid, array type and stripe size?

Load the original BIOS (use DOS/Floppy method with /py /sn /cd /cp /cc settings) and set all cpu/power management options to disabled. Use abit flash to load the beta 06, this will cure your issue. C1E is not available in the beta 06 BIOS and if it was enabled before flashing then you will have the multiplier stuck problem. Also ensure you set the JMB363 to enabled and RAID before flashing back. I have tried it on two different boards this morning that had your symptoms and it worked without an issue.

bios didnt fix the problems.

I have followed your instructions (dos flash to original , then flashed with flashmenu with all options enabled as well as disabled to b06) , but I still cannot manipulate the multi through the bios . The strange thing is that i cannot change the multi even with the original bios.
The jmicron still does not show up during boot, and my hd led is always lit.

I am using 4xraptors in raid 0, 32k stripe, and the detection time is minimal both on the original bios as well as the b06.

i'm a bit confused about the controller issue; will I have any problems in installing windows from a normal ide dvd-drive if i don't want / use raid ? if so, please tell me how ?

can confirm this also. unpacked a quad this afternoon. didn't even upgrade the bios until now. just dropped in the e6400 stock heatsink/fan, memory and pci graphic card. connected ide dvd and ide hd and fired up.
installing windows was no problem at all. all devices recognized by bios on the first try!

just played around with some bios settings, did some voltage measurements and run a first oc with 450MHz! funny temps in coretemp (82c/83c). didnt expect anything else. this baby is going on water soon ...

the interesting thing on this board is it overvolts almost everything. some voltages more than others. some voltages even under load! this might be another reason why this board overclocks so easy.

here is a picture just taken a few minutes ago...i had to find the correct voltages to hold it at 400 FSB...i'll publish 2 pictures..the only difference is the Uguru shows temps in one and voltages in the other:
