this board is disappointing it needed too much vcore on high performance water, expecting that factor to improve on abit immature bios's is not going to happen. This board is alot advert and hype.

This is not a "680i" thread, it is an Abit IN9 32X-MAX thread. Have you actually read through all of the IN9 32X-MAX threads? If so, you'd see that almost all of the users have stable boards. There are exceptions, of course, but they are very few. You are not being honest at all, you are simply being misinformative. Go on over to the EVGA forums if you want to post about how the "680i" platforms are unstable, then you'd have a point. This board is NOT an nVidia 680i reference board. Get it yet? Again, you are generalizing, and incorrectly at that!
Edit - I see that you don't even own this board. Maybe you did at one point, but your sig doesn't reflect that. Go troll somewhere else, maybe in a thread that applies to the hardware you actually own. If you do own itm then update you sig.

Truly you must have been speaking of yourself when you used the word idiot. You tested (supposedly) a "testing sample" for an entire day. Do you realise what a testing sample is? It is a PRE-PRODUCTION board ( I typed it in caps so it might actually catch your attention), not a RETAIL board. Go out and buy a retail board, test for more than a "day" and then report back. If you're not going to do that, then go bother others in the appropriate Asus thread, for that is what you actually own.Quote:

As far as me working for Abit, yeah, right. I work at a submarine base in Connecticut, a far cry from working for Abit. It just fires me up to have thread-crappers like you muddling up a thread where people who actually OWN the board come to help each other out. What you posted adds nothing.

Indeed Shawn let's try to stay on topic here the thread is used to find out what works and what doesn't , if their are workarounds yes or no,... maybe also applicable to other boards
I'm pretty happy with my Striker board, runs my hoped 3600Mhz 24/7, max stable FSB is 450 till now, don't seem to get to boot at 500mhz via bios, no matter what I already tried, but if this one is better in the long run i'm getting one of these to mess with. But I have to give Markymoo some credit as indeed the Chipset has it flaws ( but don't they all ) hope the A engineers can work something out !!

Yellowbeard. My memory works as well. I had it running at claimed specs but when I tried to OC the CPU I was having a hard time keeping the memory at those timings because running "unlinked" was really still linked in some way. My memory hz would change sometimes when I tried to raise the CPU's hz at certain freq's. Weird. BTW.... what happened to the abit forum? Hope it's only down temporarily. They didn't have flaming trolls there either.
Got an e8600 up to 4ghz. Wondering if anyone else is still playing with this board?

I know they have faded away but never the less I am using it as my second machine upon which I play my Fallout 3. Couple years ago I put an E8600 in there with SSD and it feels like a new machine. I also raided some old 74gb velociraptors x3 in there. I'm sure there are other guys out there still messing with it?
I have one laying around. It was a Cadillac of 680i mobos at the time. Great features. Too bad I have no use for it. Maybe I should try to sell it but i don't know if anyone would buy it.
Since I upgrade every few years I still have it running as a secondary gaming rig. Been through it all with that board. Had the snap crackle pop sound blaster issue, had raid error issues, and the hardest build I ever put together. I learned a lot though about hardware. Now I have an overclocked e8600 and two 285s in sli. My main machine now is an i7 classified water cooled system but I prefer the Abit like an old glove. It still has life in her...
