Ok so i dunno wtf is wrong but the board won't boot with my ram over 1135mhz no matter what i put in eventhough i know it can do at least up to 1170.
But as a consolation prize i did some testing with 1T and got 900mhz 4-4-4-12 1t at 2.0v
I somehow doubt that if these sticks can do such nice speeds on 1t that it can't do better than 1135 on 2t.
Well anyway at 900mhz 4-4-4-12 1T I guess I have no complaints cuz that can take me to 4ghz nicely. :D:D:D

Hi , just recently changed from xp to vista and although i can still boot ok at 500x7 i get norton 2007 wont load unless i drop the fsb and also get message saying vista not activated , so i was wondering if it is the southbridge controlling the sata ports ?
Hey can some of you guys post the temps you're getting at around 3.6ghz and what cooler you're using?
MY TTBT is getting pretty crappy temps and i'm just wondering if anyone else is doing any better.
I'm getting about 45C idle and 62C at load at 3.6ghz.
Even at stock clock speeds i can't seem 2 get the idle temps down by much.
I can't seem 2 get any better clock speeds without getting my temps down so some help would be greatly appreciated.
IIRC, SATA ports are controlled by northbridge. Keep it as cool as possible.

Haven't tried any other memory clock speeds other than 400mhz and 480mhz for now. Will try some others later - memtest takes ages to run with 4GB configs!

Started testing by dropping multiplier from 11x to 9x and upping FSB to 400FSB and 4x1GB G.Skill 6400PHU2 2GB HZ Micron D9GMH 629 batch @500mhz 4-4-4-12 at 2.25v vdimm bios set.

Interesting little tidbit of info here.
Check this out. I got another Striker through RMA and started checking it out and comparing it to my old one (that was the 1st batch of Strikers released for retail).
The new board has some discernable differences:
1) The new one is made in China, and not Taiwan like the older one.
2) The new one does not OC worth a crap. 390 MHz FSB is the highest I could get. On my old board, I could get right to 500 MHz.
3) On the new board, no amount of voltage adjustment or anything would help my OC. LAN started dropping, memtest errored out (although I was running at 667MHz at the time on 1000 MHz memory).
In short, I am back to my old board (had to get a new BIOS chip), and I am loving it. The one I received from RMA was junk.
Oh great... so the "new rev" boards are crap?
Or were the new rev boards only for EVGA and other reference boards?
I wouldn't call it a new revision, but it looks like ASUS changed the location of manufacture for sure.
As far as the differences between the TW and CHina boards, I can't say for sure if all TW are better than China boards, seeing has how I only have one of each.

Regardless, on both boards I tried the same settings, with the newer one not POSTing half the time. Of course I tried 12381203832 variations as well, with the end result of me being frustrated wanting to crap on the newer striker.
I am glad i opted to get an early release board in that case despite the few problems we have had .
There's a thread in the ASUS forums that states that there is a rev. 1.03G of the Striker Extreme out.
Lood007- Was yours a rev 1.03? Has anyone actually seen this new revision?

No, mine was not 1.03G. The revision number is right underneath the words Striker Extreme on the motherboard. (Under a PCI-E slot)

I just double checked my board cuz of what Lood007 was saying about his RMA. I got my board back 2 weeks ago and it says Rev 1.00G, made in Taiwan.
Bleh I'm having real troubles trying 2 find a vdroop mod 4 the striker. Anyone else know of one?
With the 1002, you dont need one anymore, right?
I notice when I try overclocking to 3.8ghz or so my voltage dip about 0.04.
