I'm also curious to hear about the differences between 965 deluxe and 965pt. Obviously 965pt has just 4 sata ports and no raid. What about overclockability, possibly missing bios settings compared to deluxe and if all bios releases are suitable for all 3 different versions of the mobo?
It's not quite clear in my picture but the memory voltage jumper is there, and also the manual mentions 8 GB max for both deluxe and 965pt, so I'm pretty sure that biostar's web page reports a wrong maximum for deluxe.
My situation is that I ordered the deluxe and received the 965pt. I'm considering keeping the pt if the only differences are the sata ports and raid. This is why I can't test it unless I first decide to keep it. Of course I'd demand a discount in this case.
Arska, basically the PT and Deluxe has the exact same board layout and I would like to believe that they both share the same BIOS. However, flashing the Deluxe BIOS to the PT is not recommended unless Biostar says so. This is because the PT does not support RAID.
I would also say that the overclockability should be just as good as the Deluxe. I'll drop Biostar an email today and update this thread once I got a reply from them.
My bad, I checked Biostar's homepage again and noticed that they do offer a separate smaller bios for the 965pt.
just got 965pt today, i flash it with deluxe bios date 0803. it able to hit fsb 500

but its not stable, but it boot to windows n able to do 1Mb pi, try orthos n it restarted
put it down to fsb 450 n its rock stable with default voltage
I decided to do a vcore mod today. After some research I found a way to do the mod.

There are indeed only 4 SATA ports.
Btw, check a few posts above mine and you will see loserkids doing 500FSB with the 965PT with DLX BIOS. Maybe you should just fire up that board of yours... ;)
Look at this........the board has 4x sata

But it runs 500fsb with the 0914 bios......only no goodies
so this is the way biostar selling the boards now??? OMG but its cheap € 115,-
LOL Aw man. That is not cool.
I'm sure there is a decent price difference. Some kind of $ back is due  :slapass:
Yeah, it's running alright now. I requested a discount due to getting a different model. Nothing much in overclocking department yet, trying to figure out how to get a sata drive recognized (wd2500js). Bios can't detect it, shows only a blank entry for it. I wonder if I should change something in bios to cure that? Not recognized even when sata 2 was disabled.Quote:

551MHz FSB, not bad for a budget board :)
OMG..... did I just see 550FSB on a Biostar board??!
this is sick! 551FSB!!!!!!!!!
Are you hitting 500fsb with the pt and its original 0914 bios? If so, could you share your voltage settings and what fsb do you boot it with?Quote:

Board can apparently be bought in germany for one hell of a cheap*** price of 113€
the webshop you mean send only the stuff to germany and all the others don`t have this board in stock and won`t get it for a long time, I don`t care because this board is to small for me ( my cooler is to big because memory is to close )Quote:

Not a big fan either of biostar, but still looks like a very nice budget board.
