Abit is back in the game

Anything bar the 800 mode on the ram will limit the fsb the cpu will do to around 300 to 320. Changing to 800 mode had me over 350fsb but the ram is crapping out due to speeds it just can not reach ;)

I have seen this on a few boards now, all have Award bios, all act the same. I now feel the bios source code may be bugged so trying to alter what is there may be counter productive...a rewrite of the source maybe needed then work off that.

I have a ton of boards here now, all have issues some way or another so i decided to do a round up on the OCZ support forum showing what boots, what runs at rated speeds etc so end users can see whats going on and make informed judgement.
I will start next week.

Tony your the man. i want memory that just works on my AW8D and when I buy the Ab9-Pro come september.

Abit has left me hanging for a week. I go on vacation tomorrow.

Peter let me know that he was going to be gone last Friday and has not returned an email since. He mentioned me needing the beta bios in our last conversation so he does know.

if you look at the mobo and see the two small hs above the cpu. there are 3 reg per those hs. i have not checked under the back hs connect by the heatpipe but i would guess to say there is about 6-8 more regs under that one.

Anyone else has anything to add?

well if you can wait, i read over at abit forums. one user talked to a tech on the phone a new bios will be out tomorrow or monday.

Finally heard back from Abit and they have a good grip on the problem and making hard changes for the fix.

We are on hold for the moment.

so by looking at the board how can we tell how many phases. im just wondering by looking at boards that dont have cooling on the fets how to tell how many phases. its one thing i didnt catch onto at all.

also fugger could you run a 7x multi if possible, when you oc. would like to see if any varince between boards and allendale vs conroe.

o thats what the manual was refering to, i thought the panel was stolen out of my mobo box. For a sec i was getting pissed, like wtf where is my panel...:confused:

nah, lol... the CMOS clear button looks badass though.

though i dont get why they included headphone and mic jack. i mean my case already has those as well as front firewire and usb jacks...

i got this board with a celeron 346@4255mhurtz.
Bios 911 and 2x maxtor diamond max 10 200gb in raid 0 on the ich8r controller.
When i changes volt, divider, strap setting i got failure to 1 disk and can not boot. Looks that to much change in one time is no go..

is this a common thing?

I am pushing Abit harder. Bios could at least give us upward multis on X6800. I already have another board inbound, there may be physical changes to the board itself.

My current board is very stable just cant get past limitations in bus.

what FSB would i possibly be able to attain using a retail E6400 and E6600 on the Pro board?
