I've got the same "problem".
My other CPU would just error out in prime95, but this one freezes (literally, nothing happens, mouse pointer stuck etc) or BSOD's. I've only seen it fail prime95 ONCE.

Just curious why you're running such a large divider @ that speed? You should be MUCHMUCHMUCH faster @ 1m @ 2900.Quote:

260 2-2-2-6? heh i've got TCCD so it's not going to happen
I'm running a huge divider and terrible ram timings because i wanted to quickly and completely take it out of the equation. I dont care what the SP1M time is, i just care that it runs. I'm going for stability, and once i find the sweet spots on the CPU i will bring the ram up in speed and then i'll tighten the timings.
BTW guys, i'm still running chipset at default volts, should i raise it to 1.75 from 1.65? Since i'm working with such high HTTs it should help. But i've never had an option for chipset voltage before so i want to be very careful with it.
raised chipset voltage to 1.75 and haven't had a BSOD yet :)
What program should i use to monitor temps in windows? I tried to get Smart Guardian but it said NF4 only :(
My 3000+ venice LBBLE 0519CPFW that i got from newegg around 6/12/2005 is slow :( .
2350 mhz @ stock voltage
2390 @ 1.425 volts
2411 @ 1.45 volts
2448 @ 1.50 volts
Still testing my A64 3000+ LBBLE 0517EPAW !

Just a simple 1M SuperPi shot at 3G for now ! Using xp-90 air cooling with a window air-conditioner ! The ambient is blazing hot around here !
http://img279.echo.cx/img279/7471/x9...38p20bx.th.png
PDP XBLK has been tested upto DDR580 @ 2.5-3-3-8 and cpu speed = 9 x 290 MHz w/ 32M SuperPi.
overcrash86 ! Good clocks there with the EPAW  !
gratz guys! EPAW is a damn fine chip.
3 Ghz on air cooling, good job :)
Thanks Man ! But TBH, I really don't know what I can take credit for - that chip is simply awesome ! And I'm enjoying the PDP equally ! A welcome change from my previous rig is all I can say :) !
And this database has been really very helpful  !
Lookin' to go WaterCooling now since temps here can hit 40C !
40C is damn hot bro, where do you live? In NorCal here its just ~75 F average weather. Good luck with teh watercooling. My chip loves volts so watercooling would be ideal for it... but i scrapped my WC plans because i'm moving to a university next year and don't want to have to deal with water cooling when i've only got one 24/7 computer.
HeHe ! Greets currently from India ! But been in hot and humid parts of Southern USA !
Same feelings here about WC ! But looks like I may take the plunge ! Condensation here is a big issue since humidity is very high - live by the shore ! Good luck with the Univ and your latest 0517 !
I received today My new 3000+ Venice 0517 APAW (#0534)
but i still need to receive My Ocz 3200 plat rev2 and My powerstream 520w.
I Hope a New bios for the DFI NF3 Ultra-D release before monday.
TBH, you shouldn't need to raise your chipset voltage to 1.75, especially since you're also running a divider that large. Here's 9x320 (on dfi) 1:1Quote:

I used the MSI board for the previews of the Venices and I don't ever recall having to up the chipset voltages. Just be aware that too high a chipset voltage can cause just as many, if not more BSOD's ;)
On a side note, while I was flipping through some of my old screenshots to show OPB yesterday I came across one which IMO is pretty incredible:
http://img297.echo.cx/img297/3069/15x2500dl.jpg
The memory was my old G.Skill LE's and IIRC they were @ ~2.8V
Gah, 2-2-2-7 at 250 is incredible for TCCD memory.
Well i have gotten 1 blue screen with 1.75 chipset voltage now; getting less BSODs than before though so i think i'll leave it there; you would consider it safe right?
I haven't gotten around to tweaking my memory yet but i lessened the divider to 166 so at least i'm doing DDR520 and i changed timings to 2.5-3-3-10. So they're not completely terrible anymore.
DFI is giving me sloppy Vcore like my Neo2 did; CPUZ reports between 1.520 and 1.552... keeps changing! Better than Neo2 anyhow; Neo2's Vcore would change a little bit every time i rebooted : /
BTW, s7e9h3n, what do you recommend for temperature monitoring on NF3 Ultra? MBM5 doesn't have this mobo listed and Smartguardian is NF4 only.
Time to change your PSU ;) I know it's not for everyone, but my modded Zippy700w is able to hold every rail within .01V FULL LOAD. It's simply the most awesome psu I've every come across...PERIOD.Quote:

Ah, i thought the fluctuating Vcore as reported by CPUZ was a mobo-related problem, so it is the PSU? My Enermax noisetaker is brand new; it was recommended from a good source. It shouldn't have any trouble handling my stuff... 2 HDDs, 2 CD rom drives, 3 case fans.
The MSI utility is called Corecenter (like it says :)). I used it when i was using my Neo2 but it reports bad temps. My 0515APAW with low volts reported as ~46C Idle and as soon as i started running prime95, it instantaneously went up 10 degrees. Once i restarted the computer and Corecenter reported completely different temperatures. ~5 degrees lower idle and load. It was almost random.
IIRC Enermax makes a few versions of their 485W psu. Does yours have 2 12v rails? If so, get rid of it. :p: If you decide that you need another PSU, drop me a PM, I may be able to help you out there ;) (It doesn't hurt that you're local too)Quote:

Just don't try to OC using core center's feature. It's MUCH more stable to use clockgen.....
2.81 seems pretty stable, didn't have enough time to run Prime95 any longer
probably my 24/7 settings for this chip, probably less Vcore after burn in
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...olute035/2.gif
Not bad, not bad at all.....it's nice to see these chips working out for more and more people.
My PSU died on me the other night and so I'm on the family comp. Talking with Andy about RMA though, so hopefully I'll be up and running very shortly. :)
@ Cornelious
Dead PSU, sorry to hear that man. Hopefully you get it back soon.
You check the batch # on your APJW yet?
I just did over 2 hours of prime95 at 2.86 Ghz

this is with the side of my case off and a big fan blowing in... max temp 52C
Hey guys, I don't know, but my CPU seems to be the rare one as noboy has it but me, or at least nobody says they have it.
Mine is a 3200 Venice with stepping 0517GPBW. Nobody has this stepping and I did a search on the net but nothing came out either. Is this a rare one or what?
Well if you didn't come up with anything i doubt my searching is going to yield much more. So i guess it's rare.Quote:

Might be possible to do 3 Ghz but not for today...
Captain, she needs more volts!
Well, now that I've started to talk about it, there's another user's on this forum that he has one like mine, too, but it's not OCing good at all. So, that means it's a rare CPU, a bad one that's why it's rare, not rare in term of being special in that matter. I am running it at 9x290 (5:4-DDR333) with 1.525Vcore. I've tried 245 1:1 but it's not stable, so that shows it's not a very good OCable CPU.
i certainly expected more out of a week 17
My 0517APJW batch# 1127 is stable at 2.81 Ghz with 1.54 volts and 2.86 Ghz with 1.58 volts. And then 2.72 Ghz with 1.42 volts if you want to scale it back that far.
At 2.81 Ghz i'm breaking 50C so it's warm but i think this will do as 24/7 settings.
after burn in i hope for less Vcore
For all you air users, what would you consider the maximum voltage for good air cooling (xp90, 7700) for 24/7 settings? And for running SP2004 overnight?
I can do more if i go over 1.6 volts but i'm hesitant to do so. I saw one post where someone primed overnight at 1.64 volts on the zalman, wondering what i could do with 1.64Volts heh.
Suicide air shot earlier tonight just for fun. Voltage was 1.600v in CPU-Z :D

Muhahah gotta love my noname pc2100 memory! :slapass: The Gskill is headed to OPB's house for repairs :D
Absolute I would say 1,6v
At least I've been running a winchester at 1,6 for 2 months, but at a much lower speed. In my case, if CPu reaches mid 50's it hangs with a BSOD, be careful with this, and it reaches that temp. at 2800 with 1,52v easily
salu2.
I have that CPU stepping, and its doing 2.7Ghz at 1.50-1.52v (burning in at that speed at 1.46v now). It doesn't seem to be the best stepping, but its not a really bad one either. I'd consider anything above 2.7Ghz on air to be a good OCer, especially considering the later weeks aren't doing as well. :)Quote:

We're still fairly even....you're about 10Mhz higher then I am for a suicide shot...now it's bugging me that I've gotta sit here with no PSU.....I wanna go back and play. :(Quote:

Yep.
So your batch # is 1/3 as high as mine and yours is the better clocker.Trust me, at 2.97 i wasn't close to getting SP to run... that's why i called it a suicide ;). Seems like batch# is a variable to me...
My next chip is batch # 0534 so we'll see how it does when i test it out later tonight
if i used 1.64 volts or so i don't think i would have any problems with getting a suicide shot of ~3.01 Ghz.
The batch number theory...Quote:

3000+ LBBLE 0517APDW - 2853mhz 1.69V AIR - =[PULSAR]= XS - Sycthe Ninja 24h Prime stable
Seems from reading about that my 3200+ LBBLE 0517 GPPW might not be too good, as anything 'GXXX' seems pretty poor in comparison.
As soon as I get some time I'll plug it in.
Someone did 1.69V for 24 hours of prime on air? Sounds a little on the high side... with that many volts i'd probably do 24 hours at 2.9 Ghz ;)Quote:

I just got my 3rd venice, 0519CPJW, it sucks more than my 2 previous steppings the 0516EPGW AND 0516EPEW. 2.6ghz Max at 1.56v prime stable is the most I'm getting with the 0519CPJW. It's a 3200+ venice from zipzoomfly, heed my warning and stay away.
OMG, my 2nd APJW sucks hard....
I set it straight to 9x300 thinking it would do it easily with 1.45 volts. Wrong, i had to raise voltage twice to even get into windows, and then it was doing 1.52 volts.
Long story short, i just ran prime95 with 1.52 volts at 2.60 Ghz and it failed in 3 minutes
i triple checked all my bios settings!?! It's my other week 17 APJW but for some reason it is TERRIBLE.

No, it's really nothing. Absolute's problem IMO, is his PSU. Since he's local to me, I thought I'd try to see if I could help him out at the same time clear some old hw out... ;)Quote:

I think what's really important is how many amps the rails are supplying, particularly the +12V rail.
Yeah, hopefully absolute0 will take my old fully modded antec550 EPS off my hands. It's a nice psu with a nice 12v rail @ 36A. Hey guys, noob here, I bought from the AMD Tech Tour the desktop bundle and I got a Venice 3200+ 0519CPIW @ 2.6 1.425V. I'm running some stress tests right now I'll let you know how it goes. Look at my sig for more info.
Finally got it working. My rig running Prime95 as we speak with the following
270x10 = 2.7 @ 1.48V (47C while priming)
2.5-3-3-7 1T @ 225MHz @ 2.7V 5:6
The divider helped a lot because now I can run 1T and I can go to 2.7 without problems. Only thing is that from 2.6 and on the CPU demands more and more power. I'm going to prime it 24hrs and then I'll post.
2.7 Ghz with 1.48 volts looks like one of the better week 19s by a long shot!
Yeah it's been 3 hours of priming and no errors. I'm really happy. Too bad I can't push it to 2.8GHz but I guess I'll have to stop the need for more OCability

my current 3000+ can do 2.72 ghz with 1.42 volts
3200+ in sig does 2.75 with 1.475 as advertised
other 3000+ blows and isn't stable at 2.7 Ghz period.
While we're talking 2.7 Ghz, my APAW fairs best, 2.7 Ghz is fully stable at default volts.
I was gonna say that 2.7GHz @ 1.48v aint that great...but for a week 19...yeah...not bad. :)Quote:

Edit: http://web.telia.com/~u18411604/2700.png
I just got my hands on a 0517APAW. So far I have managed to post at 2.9GHz+ and I can get into windows and prime at 2.85GHz. Will have more screenies later. BTW this is all on stock HS and fan. Will be getting an XP-90 soon to go on it.

Exscape, that is terrific news! I'm glad you chip burned in so well, and i hope mine can burn in that much. I have high expectations for mine.Quote:

what do you guys use for burn in? i've been using folding to burn in my cpu. prime doesn't work for me at all.
Sorry that i dont update the list. Unfortunly im in holiday work for 3 months. And for now i dont have net in my living place. As soon i get plugged in the web ill update it. Btw guys seems 0517 and 0515 are only good weeks.

Looks like its the mobo thats holding me back  try as I may in or out off sync can only only get 2500 stable unless I set the mem to 100Quote:

My new CPU (same stepping, lower batch number) does 2700 @ 1.39v with memory >200 though.
Edit: Oh, and I use prime95 for burning in. Actually I use it for stability testing but it seems to do wonders for the CPU anyway :)
well heres my submission

wat the hell did u do to ur board?? =.= omg
No joke.... geez.... seems a little harsh.
I use CPU burn-in 1.01, but i don't know if there are any better programs around for burning in. I so a 12 hour stint on load, then drop the voltage a notch and do another 12 hours. Maybe its too long a time, but i like to be sure to see if its working. ;)Quote:

i've used cpu burn-in before, but never ran it for more than 8 hours. my 3200 venice can fold at 2700Mhz with vcore at 1.7, but prime95 will fail right away. i can prime95 for hours at 2600Mhz with vcore at 1.5. i'd love to prime95 at 2700Mhz for hours, but that's not going to happen. right now i'm priming at 2600Mhz with vcore at 1.5. i'll let this run till i get home from work today. hopefully priming longer will let me reach 2800Mhz :).
Can you set prime to continue even if it finds errors? For burning in... :)
Not that I am awareQuote:

Well after 9 hours priming it's still stable. I'm going to start doing the burn-in tonight, maybe, hoping to lower Vcore to 1.45. Some screenshots for you guys

that's just awesome at that vcore. are you going to push it more or is 2700Mhz the limit for this cpu? my week 19 3200 venice can't prime at 2700Mhz at all. hopefully when i get home from work prime95 is still running at 2600Mhz at 1.5vcore.
If I push it more it needs more voltage otherwise it doesnt do crap. It booted at 2800 but priming craps out under 1 min. I don't want to push more voltage into it and my voltages above 1.48 fluctuates a lot.
anyone wanna sell me their 3200 venice that's capable of 2800Mhz stable on air. got some paypal cash i want to use :). thanks :).
My friend got a bundle like mine. I dont know if you are interested. It is new in the box. I dont know if it is the same week.

How much do you guys think a 3200+ Venice is worth that will do 2800Mhz+ on air with less then 1.55V? If a chip overclocks well does that mean people will pay more then normal retail value for one? It seems like they ought to when their getting a chip guaranteed for 2800Mhz.

i hope this is welcome here :DQuote:

Its not likely for you to get one that can clock higher then that but it is a possibility that you'll get one that will top out at 2.6-2.7 or less. New or slightly used the chip will still perform the same :p.Quote:
