There is no sticker for Striker Extreme? Thats a striker not a P5N32-SLI 680i, the P5N32 would say just that on the board.....
This is the P5N32-SLI-E

What you have is a Striker Extreme
http://www.asus.com/999/images/products/1439/1439_l.jpg
Not to mention its not a sticker, because all the Caps on your board are mainly red, and not black like the other? what gives lol
No stickers involved XD
I don't know. I do not have the LCD post in the rear and my Lettering is next to the Green LED...
Must be an "in between" board..
deepsilver you love taking pic's of your pc, hehe (not that, that's a bad thing)
On a side Note, Have you tried to Overclock your e6600 higher than 2.88?
deepsilver, if you stick an 80mm fan in those empty expansion slots you can really drop your GPU temps. like this:
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...JJO/coolin.jpg
Dropped mine by about 10 degrees C :D I ditched the funky green fan, too loud. Now I have a NMB fan there that is totally silent (they only made these for a short while, extremely quiet, only pulls 0.06 amps).
Just an idea :)
SparkyJJO,
is that pulling air into the case or extracting? also, wouldnt the bars make it kind of loud?
take pics with my eos is an other hobby. :D
i don't need more (this time), but my conroe is tested on 3.6 ghz. ;) my old p5w dh deluxe (66 sn) will not go more than an 400 fsb. :(
but a nice and i will try it out. :toast:

Dust on the CPU Cooler Fins... DANGER!!!
relakks. Not that much at all!
It was a joke Yo..
Bam Headshot!
My guess is that its the ASUS P5N-32-SLI PLUS. Meaning its not a 680i, its the frankenstein board that uses the 570 southbridge with the 650i northbridge. Its suppose to be a good board still. costs roughly 220, and uses the striker extreme PCB. If you remove the sticker that tells the model name on the motherboard it shows STRIKER EXTREME, just like Brians motherboard shows.

Ill post my machine soon.
Heres a teaser...

strange asus ay? They just take some of the features out of the striker and called it a P5N32-SLI? and put a sticker over it to cover it up??

Yes, I left the heatsinks attached to the MOSFET banks, but cut the pipe and then closed it flush again so it looks normal.

Cooling parts i used were the
Thermalright VR-1 VGA cooler
Thermalright HR-05 chipset cooler
Enzotech ULTRA-X CPU cooler
that enzotech is NICE, ive never seen such a high quality product before, and im seeing an over 10-15c drop in temps from all the stock cooling! :)
nice setup:toast: . is the front of that case aluminum or plastic?
(im about to order that cace once newegg drops the price 5 bux)
That's a Lian-Li case so, it'll be made out of aluminium. :)
yes it is aluminum, its a great case, just the reversed cooling... i dunno, i have mixed feelings about it, and not just because it makes my drinks hot on my desk  I got that case from performance-pcs
cool, maybe I can get Hank to price match newegg :D
heres mine pc7
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/6...2103ln0.th.jpg
all cool and quiet
You can get all sorts of sound dampening mat. The best are the one's with double layers. First the soft and thick mat that absorbs the sound waves and then the heavy and thin bitumen mat that prevents the case from resonating

Dual Prestonia M0 Xeons 2.66@3.3GHz on PC-DL with a Leadtek 7800GS, not the most impressive Air Cooling setup! Keeps them under 57*C at full load :)
Mine :) Put blue 120mm Fan in front of the case to intake cool air

@Lancer33, Does the Thermalright Ultra-120 comes with dual 120mm fan clips, or just one?

that modified infinity has been such the pwner, that i hate to have to upgrade when the IX-14 is released later this year. assuming the IX-14 is all that it looks like it's going to be that is ...
it's a video editing machine; every PCI slot is full and all cards have 5.25" front panels ... so ... lots of cables.
oh, and pardon the politics ...
:)
cyberspyder,
The Ultra 120 only comes with clips for 1 fan, I have multiple rigs using this cooler so I couls set this one up with clips but you can mount 2 120's using zip ties as shown in the attached photo. Just run one tie through the fans and cooler, use a second tie to lock it and cut everything but the end off of the locking zip tie.
IC, thanks.
StyM, cool decision :). this is smthg like yours, but instead of 2 large ventilators there're 70(!!!) smaller fans :D:

New stuff in it, and fixed some of my wire management etc, new monitor etc etc.
I added a vantec PCI slot fan to blow some air up toward everything, the case is extremely cool now :toast:
what kinda temps are you getting with that ac cooler/ slot fan combo?
(i have the same card and was looking for a cheap backup air cooler)
I idle at 32C most all the time, with the slot cooler its down to 30C however the one reason I wanted it was to move the hot air it blows toward the mobo up and away into the 80mm so it stays cool in the case etc etc.
Works like a charm for how much it cost, would recommend it if you have a need to blow hot/cold air up from bottom of case due to video cards or HDDs etc.
That accelero never goes about 60C even with things like 3d06 maxed out.
Hey Chaos... thinking about getting that case and the Enzotech. How close is the fan to the window and does it have enough room for airflow? And how did you get the window?
ChaosMinionX that rig looks absolutely awesome! Well done!
+1. but it seems to be loud enough. isn't it so?Quote:

Thanks for the props :toast:

I have one of the raptors in that Vantec Vortex.
And dont mind the LCD, the NB temp isnt actually NB temp.
That Alphacool(?) lcd panel looks sweet! How much did it cost?
and informative :).Quote:

I love mine, my only regret is that I didnt have 2 free 5.25" for the larger screen.
The program it comes with lets you create as many display slides you want and time them to stay up for a certain amount of time, run once (i use this to display a custom graphic with computer name) its a really great piece of hardware.
my aircooled rig...

@ChaosMinionX
The LCD Panel looks great
But the Fan Grill on top of your CPU Cooler looks a bit crappy. Remove it! :D

I'll have a Thermalright Ultra eXtreme soon. Then my Sys is completely cooled by Thermalright :D
It is a Lian Li PC7-SE-S. I put the HDD cage in this postiion to get a better wire managment. There is no front Fan in my case.. I removed it.
It is right that it will kill the air flow of the 120mm front fan if you put the cage in this non standard position :)
@tommy
:banana::banana::banana::banana:O :D
Yeah, it's a Dark Power Pro 530W ;)
The Quiet Drive is really good. Can't hear my HDD anymore :D
damn...I'm all WC but I must admit there are some sexy air-cooling systems here. never thought they could look so good :toast:

Just a HR05 and you have your whole pc thermalrighted :D
someone test the termalright hr-09 for mosfet cooling?
A HR-05 SLi will crash into the vga :(.
i thought that it would on mine too but a quick bend and its all good ;)
hopefully you can see what i mean from this http://img171.imagevenue.com/view.ph..._122_445lo.jpg
