a little improvement

the jap version of SPI is better under 2003... but it's not the solution :)
took me 34 secs.
and this is total owneage O_O: http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/3233730401/23s.jpg
To have a good Superpi time (1M) :
Use :
* Windows 2k3
* Priority in real time
* a Virtual Disk with ramdisk (for example) + Maxmem=105 in boot.ini
* Japanese version of Super Pi
* minimum resources
They also use a program called maro, I dont know what it is but it helps to boost...
It works with PIFAST (10M)

nice.. you have a link to the macro program..
no, I havent :( ... for the moment :DQuote:

Thanks for the tips :)Quote:

I tried several different RAM disk programs and all resulted in a slightly slower time :( These were all based on the Microsoft reference ram disk driver. Which RAM disk driver works best?
Well I've never run Super pi much in the past because I never had a decent CPU but this new 3500 seems to be doing nicely :)
AMD-64-3500 on an Abit AV8. Running 260x10 (Mem is at 5:4 though) scoring 35s.
System is straight water cooled and so far seems to be prime stable at 1.725v, running 42 degrees under full load.
Will post a screenshot later tonight.

I thinks there was something wrong, because in my opinion the time sucks for that clockspeed (I reached 33s with a 4100Mhz Northwood)
 Nice overclock!
What cooling?
The time seems not very good to me too
Thanks! :toast:
For cooling I used dry-ice and this:
http://www.silentworks.net/sekalaiset/kippo/1.jpg
I wonder why the time is so bad..
I used windows 2003 server, I used tight latencies with memories (2-2-2-5) runningn 1:1, I shut down every single unnecessary service I could find... what else can a man do?!?
Any suggestions for tomorrows re-run?
Ram frequency is too low.......That's why.........BTW , nice dryice tube you have got there......I think one of the best I've seen so far......Quote:

Here's a 30 sec SuperPI of my own:
I know the RAM frequency is low, but i couldn't set the divider to 4:5 after I went over 200Mhz, so it had to be 1:1.Quote:

And thanks, I love my tube also
I have more images about the dryice tube in here,
even though I havent got any updated pics yet (it's now soldered together with silver).

why you do not succeed to activate the 4/5 over the 200 mhz of fsb... ??? my friend burner man with 2.8 533:
http://www.burnerman.com/28a1/4519.jpg
I have no idea. I tried all the settings for mem.freq available, as I recall those were DDR400, 320, 266 and auto. Anyway, all of them resulted in either lower frequency than cpu, or the same (DDR400). Maybe I was a bit careless and missed something in the middle of trying to get this freaking ASUS mobo working at these temps.
Try setting boot up FSB below 200MHz ?
Like 199 and then up it from Windows w/ Setfsb. Should give you the ram divider you want :)
Is this 2.8 533FSB OC with dry ice too?
29 with dry ice and 28 @ 4830 with ln2
Yes it is with dry iceQuote:

I must have been inhaling too much ethanol+CO2-fumes yesterday because I didn't figure that out...
I did some more test on the dryice-leftovers today, and achieved this with the 4:5 divider:

Too bad my BH-5's didn't go any faster, I gave them 3.6 volts.
And here is the newest record on my 2.8A chip:

Just wondering would it pay off to put some LN2 in the tube? Would 5GHz be reachable on this chip?
I got one...:D

Where can I find the Japanese version op superpi ?

EDIT "Hilppa" Yes i do think u can easly reach 5ghz with LN2.
Not a fast time except that it's 80 F and I'm cooling with a 92 mm tornado and a Thermalright 900A... :D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/MaxedAir.jpg
I really think there is something wrong with your system, since here is what I came up with 2.8C at the same clockspeed and some -10 Celcius degree water:Quote:

EDIT: My mistake at this time of the night, didn't notice you had the 2.8A... would you mind telling te FPO/BATCH number of that processor?
Yepp ofcourse "L408B106"
Yess its easy to do a mistake;)..But its seems that ive fixed it with "tonys aka BigToes" unleashing DDR533" BIOS, i can crank up the Mem sped now, at 171FSB(AIR) mem doing 226...but it seems this BIOS have a coldboot issiue? wont let me start....with r404...
For what mobo is that bios for? P4C800**? If you could throw me link to those files I would appreciate it..
Propably no point in asking, but have you set the cpu temp from hardwaremonitor to "DISABLED"?Quote:
.but it seems this BIOS have a coldboot issiue? wont let me start....with r404...
Yepp for the P4C800-E del
Yes its all deiss...damn, id luv to hear what BigToe have to say about this:)
heres the Link
Unleashing DDR533 on P4C
Thought I may as well reply here for my first post.
here's my Super PI bench.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...k/super_PI.jpg
nothing but my video card overclocked.
ram set by SPD.
i think asus probe is accurate as far as the volts go...and thats an idle temp. This is my current top end for stability, but I'm swapping memory tomorow thats rated for 216mhz 2-3-2-6, so this might get better.

mon dieu!
doh
Holy crap. That's about 3 seconds faster than with 2-2-2-5 DDR1 memories running the same speed. Anyone want to buy 2-2-2-5 260Mhz @3.5V BH-5's? :p:
I guess the board (chipset) helps alot too... could someone post some results on 915 chipset and DDR1 memories?
Thats not even DDR2-533, I'm sure its running higher than that, the memory is just running faster than the bus.
I don't get it!!!.......I sure don't like something here....
hmm ddrII ey...these must be running an astonishing speed to get that result.. seems fishy..
Not bad, mate :thumbsup:Quote:

I am impressed by the OCZ EB. At 3.0v I could overclock the 2x512mb sticks up to 260Mhz, which is exactly the same as my previous 2x256mb kit. That's cool! :D

a bit slow i think, cause of timings 2,5 3 3 11
free
Yeah, if you could tighten the timings, you probably would get 1 second faster. And there's no more fsb MHz you squeeze out of this rig??
:D
my nf 7-s insn't compatible with the BH 5 i have, therefore it only runs with infineons, and bad timings.
i think 37s are impossible , hmm we will see.
greetz free
Maybe try an AN7 or DFI LP B?! :DQuote:

oh this is with 2-3-2-6
wow, looks fine.
are all FX so pretty in low voltage, 1,69V 2650MHz is nice

yeah I dont have chilled cooling...this is it for me. the cpu will just not run at 2.7 no matter what volt I give it. I dont have the cooling. But 2650ish is totally stable.
the 940 fxs turned out to be poorly supported...I will probably never see a board with working bus locks (thanks asus, is it so hard to make a handful of boards for us with the via pro chipset?)...

wow, do you use 4:5 bios?
I don't know what you mean by 4:5 bios?
I use 1:1 memdivider, so that CPU is 250Mhz and mem is 250Mhz.
If you mean 533Strap, I was not able to use it after about 4,8GHz.
I had to change to 800strap to make it all the way to 5,2Ghz, which is bad because 533strap is so much faster.
If anyone can tell me why I was not able to use 533strap, please tell me
