I just got a tracking number from Clubit for my E6700 OEM :toast: I called them this morning asking when it would ship. They said next week at first, then I told them my retail 6400 showed up already. I said if zzf sent theirs, why cant you guys. They said If I faxed them my ZZF packing slip to show others were sending, they would send mine. Plus all the others that were waiting to ship. I hope I didnt get zzf in trouble lol. Hope everyone starts getting tracking #'s from Clubit!

Also a side note, this 6400 rocks! My first Core2. All I gotta say is wow these things are fast! 414FSB so far on my P5WDH. Cant wait for the 6700!

Retail-3 year warranty thru intel.
Oem- warranty is whatever the place you buy it from gives you and any warranty replacement is done by that retailer. Some have odd rules.

Oem chips are sometimes cherrypicked thru first by the seller for ocing. Retail is factory sealed.

I prefer whichever I can get my hands on first. retail preferably but I dont have a problem with oem since I void all the warrantys and dont need a stock hsf

The person I dealt with was Chu at Clubit. Very helpful. They want them sent out as bad as we want them (well almost). It was a very interesting phone call. Either way hope they all make it out :D

well I guess Ill call tomorrow morning and let them know Id like mine to go out too. paid for nextday fedex dont want it nextday from monday to tuesday trying to get one frozen for the weekend.

Sorry I edited my post to late.
Cherrypicking of oem cpu's somewhere along the supply chain is only real concern.

Retails are sealed so you know they are not some cherrypickers reject.

Just ordered E6400... (clubit.com)

ok, i wanted to get E6600 but i'm on budget here and couldn't fine a retail package at reasonable price. Clubit.com has E6400 retail box for $250 (free shipping) and i could not resist... :)

Now, i need to get a MB and 2G of mem to run my Vista box... According to their web & Fedex Tracking, i should get it on 8/5.

ZZF has the retail E6700 for one dollar more. Their FedEx overnight is also 21usd cheaper. (I checked my old ZZF E6300 order, they charged me 14.37usd shipping FedEx overnight) You're right most places will ship Monday. Retail comes with a three year warranty and the HSF. I have never found an actual difference in the two via use. Usually OEM is cheaper.

You do need to call ClubIT to cancel orders and when I attempted before 6pm est I got forwarded to a full voice mailbox.

If you don't mind waiting til Monday, I'd haunt ZZF and wait for them to show up. I am of the opinion a lot of places that ship FedEx will allow the chips to be ordered the fourth because they won't be going anywhere over the weekend. So it will be order Friday ship Monday.

BTW did anyone receive a tracking number for the E66s Mwave had up the other day?

Yeah I just got an email from ClubIT. Do to the increased shipping cost vs others in the same area, I consider the processor 588usd instead of 567usd. Anywho it's on its way so I should be able to test it well over the weekend.

So come Monday i will be able to pick up a 6300 at $200 right? As right now Pricegrabber has both ClubIt and Zipzoomfly at $237.07 Shipped. Only reason i have waited this long is because i was told price of the E6300 would drop to the Retail price of $180, which i didnt mind the wait to save $40.

Keep in mind EWiz doesn't not have a "live" inventory. They update it during the work day. Right now you can throw lots of E6400s into your cart and purchase them but there is no telling if you'll get them until you get the e-mail confirmation. Good luck. Outside of the "live" inventory issue, Ewiz has been a good store for me.

I knew it, I knew it. ShopBLT is full of it. Yesterday, they had an eta of E6400 on 8-2-06 with over 250+ backorders. On 8-3-06 the shipping date got pushed back to 8-25-06. When their prices started to increase I knew they were having problems with filling orders, I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. Now other C2D CPU's are showing eta's of 8-25. Look else where if you pre-ordered IMO. That ETA appears to me to be a guessimate as it's push too far back to be anything accurate.

Nah... newegg is just keeping their nose clean. Same as they did with Opty 939's... they were the last to get them in stock and then 4 or 5 SKU's showed up in one day. Watch newegg on Monday.

Not good...I even got an order in at ClubIT for a 6400, but decided to cancel it when they refused to ship before Monday (my persuasion skills must suck). I figured BLT would ship mine Monday anyways...gonna give them a call I think.

couldnt agree with this more. newegg knows theyre going to sell a boatload of these regardless so why risk angering intel over it by listing them before the 7th.

I still think its lame for intel to launch the cpu on the 27th and not let retailers sell till the 7th though why not just launch on the 7th and go from there.

I think it's time to take up a collection and bribe the shipping clerk at Club IT. They claim these C2D's are just sitting in their warehouse collecting dust while awaiting the magic 8/7 date.

I say it's time they start getting them loaded onto the trucks. Even if they do, it'll still be 8/7 or later before orders actually arrive. Intel can't spank them too bad if the jump the gun a mere day or two and they would sure make all their new customers happy. Maybe even enough to displace past Newegg loyalty.

If you're listening Club IT, can't you induce a system glitch to make all these things ship now!! We won't tell Uncle Paul!!

I don't know if unboxing pictures count, but if someone who has an order in wants to furnish proof (for instance, if you have a packing slip for another Conroe from somewhere else), you will make a lot of people happy :)

I actually put my E6400 up on eBay just now and will be returning my Bad Axe to Frys.

Just decided after all this drama with my board refusing to go past a 400MHz FSB while the processor was easily doing 3.2GHz (8 x 400) no problem at stock voltage was too frustrating. It wouldn't let me select the 1333 strap, wouldn't allow me to adjust my memory dividers without going nuts, and was generally a hassle to make changes to.

Shame too, because the CPU could dual-prime stable at 400MHz with air cooling at 1.275v and was begging to be clocked up to 3.4-3.6GHz.

Oh well, just going to wait a bit until the RD600 is out before I build out my final Conroe rig. That was the board I wanted from the start anyway. PM me if you're curious about my CPU, I'll be shipping it out today. Thanks to everyone for the assisstance in troubleshooting the motherboard, appreciate it greatly. :)

my order now says pending shipment but I spoke with them on the phone today and through email and they said they were going to get it out for me by tomorrow (Ill become one of their best customers if they do Im sure of that much)

I'm pretty sure ClubIT have only been shipping OEM CPU's. I think they are waiting till Monday to ship ther retail ones.

Proof of E6400 shipment

Think a scan of a packing slip is proof enough that E6400s were shipped out from ZZF?

I removed the address, order number, and packing number. Note the smiley face on the packing slip - that's a stamp applied when the packing list has been checked, far as I can tell.

Mine has an S-Spec of SL9S9. B2 stepping. No installation guide or sticker came with it in the box, even though it's retail. Need to ask Intel for one, I suppose.

Currently, it's running at ~2.53Ghz (19% burn-in). RAM's at 396Mhz base clock (2x1GB Geil DDR2-800). That's as high as I plan to take it. :-)

[EDIT:] Fixed the image so it wouldn't be so messy. Didn't realize images were in-line viewable and not just attachments.

I just sent an email to Club IT reminding them that thier competitors have already been shipping this week.

At this point they've basically met the intent of Intel's embargo and should just start getting the shipping process started.

I don't expect they'll do anything but who knows.

Besides that, they could be swamped on 8/7 trying to get all these orders out the door.

Years ago Buy.com had a 19 inch crt that people were going nuts over and had it cheap.
Hundreds ordered it, ONLY 25 got it. I was one of the unlucky ones even though I had an email confirmation my order went through.
I will NEVER deal with them again.

BTW I got an email confirmation and tracking number for my retail 6700 from mwave. Be here tomorrow. :)

HOW DO YOU OPEN THESE INTEL BOXES?

can it be done without tearing cardboard? does the key lie in those circle cuts?

Haha. I ripped mine when I was opening my E6300. I didn't try to use the circle cuts. I just cut the blue seals the pryed the top off. Now my box looks like crap.

i mean, there were intel SEAL stickers on it
how does that mean anything if you have to rip the cardboard to open it?

at least with my PD box, u tear the factory seals on the side w/o the bar codes and stuff, and then just open it like a normal box..

Tiger Direct told me in their chat that they will recieve the e6600 on the 8th....Im hoping to get one from BLT though, I want to wait till tomorrow to see if they are shipping them tomorrow or not, before I cancel the one on tigerdirect

i got tired of waiting myself so i canceled my order with TigerDirect too. With the 7th right around the corner im going to wait to see how much Newegg lets them go....i believe thats the best move for now

I always slide a knife underneath the little holes and seperate it that way. My boxes look brand new.:p:

The resellers that are holding inventory for pre-orders will start shipping tomorrow 8/4. They'll want to solidify the billings before 8/7 and 1 business day ship ahead won't piss off Intel. If they wait till 8/7 they may get cancellations due to local resellers having stock (ie Fry's) and possible special lower launch pricing from others (ie Newegg).

Because we'll have a new wave of resellers show up on 8/7 they'll likely come out of the chute aggressive to make up for lost ground. I bet Newegg comes out "swinging" on Monday. They'll want to show the world that they should have placed orders with them and I wouldn't be surprised if they sell at cost for a few days. However they'll gradually increase prices over time until they're at the high end of market by the end of the month.

I think those that buy early on 8/7 will get the best deals.

I have no basis for my prediction other then instinct.

Just ordered a E6400 from ClubIT and cancelled from Monarch. However I heard their In Stock system is delayed so could it maybe not ship out tommorrow? I hope they actually ship something.
