eva2000, would you mind posting a recap of your burn in, with very first attainable speeds up to right now? It would be really interesting to see if it works or not, didn't do much for my 0534 165 :stick:

you guys need to realise, i DID find the max oc, but like i said, i saw a post where some guy claimed to be able to get a lot more oc after tweaking those values. i tried the cpu at every ram speed and divider, as i did with the 0530. its not that i dont know what i'm doing at all, i just have bad luck
burn in hasn't helped much with 0546XPMW as it did with 0544XPMW both cpus adventures are fully listed in my sig links ;)Quote:

max benchable still remains at 2900-2950mhz at 1.6-1.632v probably due to heat/cooling more than anything - this is for 0546XPMW
both 0544XPMW and 0546XPMW have extremely strong mem controllers it seems :D

@terrordemon
then u cant do much about it..sell this one and try with another - thats your best option..and dont buy via ebay, coz the seller will never sell a good clocker :fact:
Tell that to ben805...3.2Ghz from egay:p:Quote:

edit: I think I'm gonna try some burning in, even though it hasn't worked in the past.. core 1 does 3GHz easy at 1.45v, but core 0 fails in a couple seconds. I'm really not expecting to have it stable at 3GHz though
Maybe I have the same bad luck as you. I just ordered two more processors from monarch and am expecting the first one today. Could you pm me the link where the drive settings helped the person oc 200-300 mhz more? Maybe I can get off of the 2600 I've been stuck on for weeks.Quote:

I know that goes against what has been said in here many times, but it's worth a try. I have a cheap 256mb chip at home I may swap out and see what happens. And yes, I have put my memory on a divider and tested to get my max oc.
I think terrodemon is talking abt this postQuote:

This guy is using an expert though, bear that in mind as I see you have a non-expert board
mongoled thats the exact post i was referring to, but would the choice of mobo really make THAT much of a difference?
mag|c, the guy that started the 170 UPMW thread, also had issues with OCing beyond a certain point until he played around with drive strengths settings. My Opt 170 also stopped at 2.6Ghz until I put those settings on Auto. It might not fix everyone's OC but I know it helped mine :)Quote:

Just a quick update on my CCB1E 550VPMW, it is now stable at 2.85ghz with 1.55v. It seems the gskill hz's cant even do 260 on the rdx200 (at least my sticks cant).
hybrid what batch number u have? its strange, coz all vpmw's seams to be the best clockers around.
Its batch 706, 678L substrate.
seems like those optis need a good ram to work quite good.
hmm, strange..i saw L50726 batcher running 3ghz@1.4V..
look in this forum, almost every vpmw is doing 3ghz or at least 2900mhz..

This is the best I can get with my poor little PSU until I get a nice bigger beastie along with better cooling
2.8GHz with 1.5v

... 2.86GHz with 1.6v stupid weaker core 0 :slapass:

Sorry, I have no idea WTF photobucket is up to but it simply HAS to resize that image... to like 72K...
RAM has another 5MHz in it, but pretty close to maximum on the RAM anyway, so I'm not missing the extra multiplier.
Haven't tried for highest benchable... :toast:
Yea im not sure if i have the worst CCB1E in existance or if its the mobo (bios)? Its good enough until my next upgrade anyways. Although it would be nice if DFI gave us RDX200 users a better bios. I think they will forget about us once the RD580 hits. :(
Hi Guys, I've been overclocking my new 170 opty and testing its stability with pi 32m, its max at stock volts seems to reside at 2.8ghz on both cores.
I was pretty chuffed with that and decided to stop there and run prime small fft's and get some heat into the cpu. well after 15mins core0 failed and core1 went on happily. I upped the voltage and yet again core0 failed, I went from 1.3v to 1.45v and still core0 would fail prime. starting to get a little annoyed I knocked it down to 2.65mhz with same higher vcore and to my disappointment core0 failed again within 15mins.
I cant understand why core1 is happy running prime small ffts all day at 2.8ghz stock vcore and core0 will only run 2.6ghz prime no matter what vore I give it. :(
am I missing something or have I got a rather un equal dual core cpu?
Cheers
Anyone know if "resulting sum was 2837XXXXXXXXXX expected 2398XXXXXXXXXXX" errors in prime might be RAM related? I have some dead ram here that won't game for :banana::banana::banana: (not even at 100MHz) but always passes memtest/pi/prime etc up to near 300MHz, 2826MHz 1.45v just failed with that error
edit: hesky that's the way it works, core 1 on my CPU primes at 3GHz stock voltage..
Well, I got a opteron 165 0551vpmw. So far I am at 1.525 volts with 300x9=2700. I hope I don't have to hit 1.55 to make this thing stable at 2.7. Man I must have bad luck or something. I belive this is around my sixth processor :(
I failed prime at everything lower. Although the speed that I have failed has gradaually been longer. I have an Opty 170 on the way tomorrow.
I need self control! I'm on the verge of buying an Opteron 170....should I do it, any good steppings left?
You wont regret it, I was previously using a 146 that did 3200 easily also an X2 3800 @ 2.8GHz but my current 170 is by far the best to use/work with :woot:Quote:

oh wow, those are some encouraging words!!! I'm currently on a 146 myself. I'm about to hit the "order" button.
