Whats the difference between rev 1.0 and rev 2.0 of this board? the newer rev uses different BIOS versions as well... and i noticed rev 1.0 is 24 phase power, rev 2.0 is only 16 phase... so wouldn't this make it worse than the original?

Rev 1.0 is the best IMO, UD7 Rev. 2.0 is the same as UD5 Rev. 2.0 minus the extra water block.
So, yes you want a Rev. 1.0 if you can get one :D
So you were asking about RAID, and moving it to a new board? If so, that will be fine as well as long as you put the same drives on the same ports on the new board, and enable RAID before you get into windows.
rev 1.0 is deff better. LSBMEASAP is 10% correct.
here are the differences between rev 1.0 and rev 2.0 of the UD5:
First off rev 1.0 vs rev 2.0
Rev 2.0 change:
PCI-E has already been done for PCI-E speeds over 103 mhz
16 power phases
actual internal USB ON/OFF charge port
RTL8111E LAN instead of RTL8111D
Check that against rev 2.0 UD7 spec.
^^ He didnt compare rev1.0 UD5 to 2.0 UD5. He said "UD7 Rev2.0 is the same as UD5 Rev2.0 minus the extra water block". He was probably referring more to its ability to overclock.

New beta bios? anyone tested the F8d yet? What are results like. Might give it a go in the next few days.
I think this bios is very good for my 24/7 setting:up:

It's been awhile since I upgraded bioses (I think my current version is F7p) and I forget, do I need to backup my saved profiles? Will upgrading blank them out?
Thanks.
Seem to be having stability issues with F8e. I've been getting random BSODs (IRQ no less than equal error, and Win7 shows them as error 1033 - memory related?) at settings which were rock-solid with BIOS F6. The only reason I jumped to F8 was because of the improved SSD support as stated on FW updates, as well as updated drivers.
Only thing I changed in my system was the addition of the SSD. All other settings intact. Thoughts?
I concur. Might tweak memory voltages and timings to check.
f8d is a great bios, im running my 930 @ 4.5 on air only need 1.31 vcore... I swear this board has the most bios releases out of every board i've owned :D
Hello guys!
I managed to stabilize my 980X 4.5GHz with 1.392v voltage. The Problem is the memory, trying to stabilize 1800MHz (Dominator GT 2000MHz 8-9-8-24), I'm not getting any way, even increasing the value of IOH and QPI/VTT not getting. Does anyone have any tips for me to try here? Thanks!

you need to push qpi/vtt over 1.5v most likley between 1.5-1.6v. Not worth it IMO.
Anyone with the UD7 rev1.0 can try to use IOH core 1.160v?
EasyTune 6 reads my IOH core 1.100v when I set it from bios 1.160v. If set 1.140v or 1.180v from bios, ET6 reads it correct. Only with 1.160v bios ET6 doesn't report it.
This value for 1800MHz (1.50~1.60v), there would be a somewhat exaggerated value which is analyzing a Gunftown?
Yes I have downloaded the blck and increased the multiplier (150 * 30 for example). 1700MHz with 1.375v I've got to QPI, 1800MHz now I can not in any way, even increasing the QPI to 1.455v. But I will try other combinations here, thanks for the reply.
PS: Which setting you use for 215bclk stable, could pass? Thanks again!
I could fill out a template but I dont think the same settings would even work for GT 980x.

Hello guys!
Look at the Hardware Monitor window.
How is it possible for my CPU to use (at stock) that amount of power?
I found a lot of similar screenshots (UD7 + i7950) and the power was always under 200W even with strong overclock.
Is my CPU faulty?
P.S. The values don't change with other bios and in overclock the situation is even worse.
http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/6034/powerc.png
thats heaps weird, checked mine and mine seems correct, are u using the latest version of HW monitor?
Latest version of everything: bios, drivers and HW Monitor as well (1.10.1 as you can see in the previous screenshot).
Anyway that behavior doesn't change with other bios revisions or different (older for the sake of clarity) drivers.
Try booting up from a old PSU, could be your rails playing up.. or its just faulty sensor readings..
