When I update my bios (P35-DS3 rev 1.0) from F9 to F11 or F12, the CPU fan is running at 100% all the time.
Anyone having the same problem ? Any idea how to fix this problem ?
Have anybody tested overclocking intel e8xxx series on gigabyte p35-ds3?
i wonder when we get a new bios
tested the f7d Bios but i am back on f7c. For me the f7d is a little unstable. getting bsod by benching spi above 5ghz.
c ya
I got a P35-DS3R rev 1.0 and when i start a cpu stress test the temperature jumps up by 20*C(Instantly) and if i stop the test it goes down right away by 20*C.When it shows 70*C(Under stress) i can put the hand on the radiator and it does not have 70.I already have the F11 bios.Ideas?
20 degrees difference between idle and load temperatures is in fact really good but your idle temp of 50*C points towards bad contact between CPU and heatsink. It's a bit difficult to tell though when we don't know what CPU, voltage, cooling or software you're using.
I suggest you download CoreTemp just to confirm the temperature readings. After that I would recommend you to re-mount your heatsink with a proper amount of good thermal paste (AS5, MX2 etc.).
I have a E4400@3000mhz 1,30vcore
Cooling:Big typhoon.
Right now i have like 30*C per core and should i open orthos it jumps to 50*C then it start going up by 1 degree. So after 10 minutes orthos i have like 60*C and when I stop it ,instantly 40*C ,and again it starts going down slowly .like it should.
I just picked up an EP35C-DS3R, and I'm not impressed. It struggles to get the E2140 to 3.2 GHz. I guess i'm just spoiled with DFI boards.
It isn't a bad board at all, it just doesn't like to boot when trying to get the FSB up there. For some reason, you actually have to take steps.
I should've bought the DFI P35-T2RL.
I am not sure if anyone can explain this but I upped the voltage on my memory (see rig in sig) to 2.0v and I set it to run at 1066Mhz with timings of 5-5-5-15. It boots fine, and windows is stable but the Seagate 500GB HDD I have attached to the Gigabyte RAID controller (i.e. Purple SATA connectors) doesn't post. Is this something that can be fixed?
Hi gang. I just build my new rig with a P35-DS4. Newegg sent me the Rev2.1 board which made my day. I've got the Q6600 with G0 stepping and a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a Scythe 120mm 1600rpm fan mounted on it. Board fired right up, loaded Windows XP Home, and I made it to the desktop without a single issue (praise God!).
Now this isn't really a problem, but it's something I would like to figure out. I've had several people tell me conflicting things about running the fans off the MB - some say it doesn't matter, others say I should run all the fans off the PSU. Now my front case fan was not running at all, not on the SYS_FAN2 or PWR_FAN headers, but when I hooked it up to the PSU (using a 3-pin to molex adapter that came with my Scythe) it runs.
I have disabled SmartFan and set the fans to Voltage in the BIOS. My Quad temps at idle according to CoreTemp are 26/26/28/22. They fluctuate sometimes to 36/36/36/25, but this is only when I'm doing something like surfing and checking email.
I went to the Gigabyte site and downloaded the F11 BIOS update for my DS4. After using Q-Flash, loading the new BIOS update, and then restarting, I went into BIOS and loaded the optimized defaults. However, when I get to the POST screen it still says F8 (F8 is what it shipped with).
Shouldn't that number change to F11 after updating the BIOS?
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.
Anyone?
Hello.
Today, a Gigabyte member send to me beta bios F12b for P35-DS4.
If you want this bios, send me a private message.

Ok, I tried this again. I downloaded the F11 BIOS update and this time I put it on my USB drive. Restarted and did the Q-Flash and now I get F11 in POST. To give myself some peace of mind I ran Prime95. After a half hour temps hung around 46/46/45/42. After an hour temps remained steady at 45/45/43/40. Good? Seems like it.
As for the fans I'm ordering some longer fan extensions, some black sleeving, and a Sunbeam MFPP Multi-Fan port to plug them all into. Plan on doing some major cable modding when everything arrives.
Thanks.
