whats the difference between the p4p800se and the p4p800-e dlx?

overclocking wise. The additional raid stuff and other features doesnt matter to me.

do you mean p4c800-e dlx or p4p800-e dlx?

p4p800-e dlx vs p4p800se is the latter has more overclocking options from bios, like multi change, more vcore, etc etc.

Meant the p4p800-e dlx. Is the p4c800 series really more finicky?

I saw that people saying the p4p800-e has no multiplier options with the 1007 bios. Wasnt that fixed with 1008.something? the posts I saw were 2 months ago.

Got a gig of UTT here, and its running like a dog in the P4C :( Need to switch it over to the A64 and give the TCCD a run instead...

The new 750 aint too bad, 2.6 (ish) benchable on stock cooling, 2.86 3d stable and 2.9 pi stable on water, and should be getting it frozen this weekend, so hoping for 3ghz + :D

Ahh, and what a shame I can't change multiplier in bios :( However, I can make startup scripts and they work :) 1st reduce multi, then increase FSB :toast:

But i just cant get my bh-5 stable@high clocks.

stick1: 2,9v=2-2-2-4 235Mhz; with vmod (3,24V) 244MHz 2-2-2-5
stick2: 2,9V= 2-2-2-4 228MHz; with vmod (^) 236Mhz 2-2-2-5
dual: 2,9V= 2-2-2-4 228MHz; with vmod 233Mhz 2-2-2-5

i think theres something wrong with my mod^^
cant believe that 0.34v more voltage on bh-5 gives me only 5-7mhz better oc -.-"

tomorrow i will mod the board once again and hope to get 250+mhz 1m stable. :)

I heard that UTT chips were not good for intel rigs (especially 915P ). Now i am seeing it is a myth ........... 267 Woot :eek:

By the way, is it OK running PCI Express frequency @ 115-120 24/7? For benching it is fine but 24/7? Is only PCI-E video card affected by this frequency or something else too? I never had to increase AGP/PCI/PCI-E before because all boards had working locks :)

I believe it's the other way around -- UTT sux on 865/875, but works well with 915.

I dont know if this is good or bad but I had my 750 Dothan working stable (prime, 3d games, 3d apps, windows) at 1.5 volts (1.488 actual) and now I've reduced the volts to 1.4 (actual 1.402) and it seems stable as before. All of this on 210 X 12 = 2520 at 2-2-2-6 with my 4X512 KHX3200 BH5 :cool:

What is the safe minimum - maximum voltage to run these Dothans 24/7 and what do people usually get with an 750?

Oh, this is with the CT-479 cooler and a P4 heatspreader on top of my precious Dothan lapped good! :)

I have used 1.55v for 24/7. Now using 1.6v and overclocked 730@2550MHz. Just testing the 24/7 limits. I think theres nothing bad to use voltages like that, if cooling is ok.

Im just wondering is there any point to buy ASUS P4GPL-X or Asus P4GD1? Is there really some rate difference against P4C800-E Deluxe? :O And cause P4GPL-X is so cheap, is there some rate difference if comparing ASUS P4GPL-X and Asus P4GD1? PCI-E bus just would be nice. ;)

what do you mean by rate difference??? I thought P4GD1 is impossible to find... at least it is not sold neither in spain, neither in germany, it is like out of stock... :(

I'm still slightly lost when it comes to what RAM would be best. I'm thinking I might go for the Asus P4GD1 with a 740.

Could anyone help me out? :) I've read through the thread, but I'm obviously missing something. I'm getting confussed.

Well you know sometimes different chipsets could make difference to rate. Some says P4C800-E Deluxe is a bit faster than P4GD1 and P4GPL-X. Here in Finland theres no P4GD1 in stocks anymore, but nothing prevents to buy used.
P4GPL-X we can found in stock still. But im thinking is there actually any differences about those motherboards? And P4C800-E Deluxe too? And only difference actually i think theres might come in overclocking, am i right? And wich of those three could be the best and is there big differences?

Edit: And can P4GPL-X boot over 225FSB. My P4C800-E Deluxe can't... And can multiplier be changed in bios?

I guess p4c800 is the best, but p4gpl-x has pcie and it is the difference, so you have an option to upgrade a video later, i am thinking on buying it sooner rather than later

That PCI-E is the reason why im thinking that motherboard too... I'm just thinking is there same stupid problems wich there is with P4C800-E Deluxe. Like that overclocking problem from bios.
