I laughed my arse off lol - looks like the 980X is decent ;)
I had to bow out of that benching last weekend due to a death in the family... this was a pleasant surprise

I'm sorry to hear this mate! :(
But you found a nice CPU, do you plan on testing some 2D with it?
On a sidenote, somehow this score did not pop up yet on the Lords of Overclocking site...
Your new run says "not FM approved" as well, but damn, almost 42k is nice!
thx, that was the best run using the old drivers.
...so got bored with ambient temps, and currently disassembling a 1/3hp AC. The chiller build ensues :D Should work very nicely on the SR2 hoping for somewhere around -10C atleast.
EDIT: Temps are -15C open air, hoping for a good drop once submerged.
zeneffect is hitting some good numbers with his i5 655k on DICE:

Good DICE runs today ZenEffect!
My R3E's tripple channel stopped working so it might be a little while till I'm back up and running again. Got a bunch of GPUs to test on LN2.
As a side note, I'm going to sell my GTX 480 and need to get a 1200w PSU so if anybody wants the GPU LMK.... The GPU will be up in the FS section this week.
This 480 does 900/1167 on stock cooling 1.30v in 85oF ambient and 1075/1200+ on LN2 at -90oC without OVP or OCP mods.
Gunna try and get some good numbers on my XFX 5770 over today and tomorrow. Guys got some tips/tricks? I've found the Vmod I need also if I can get a DICE container for it!
anyone on the team got a pot with 8600gt & 5770 mounting bracket? I would like to borrow it for a DICE run. I will be paying shipping and a security deposit; just want to borrow instead of dropping $140.00.
edit: also in regards to overclocking my 5770. Linux and I have been PM'ing each other about tips and tricks overclocking it. I can't seem to find a version of msi afterburner that will allow me to get past 1.35 volts though - asked around in the guru3d afterburner home forums too. No luck!
Update: Working on 1000/1200 as we speak. So far I am at 990/1200 @ 1.27v~1.28v, I really started seeing voltage tweaks around a 970 core. I hope I can get a little further on less voltage for the rest of the night!
-End of the night: I couldn't get a stable 1000/1200 even @ 1.30v~1.31v. Its bed time :)
7/29/2010
I got 1010 @ 1.35v~1.36v. Either something is bugging my chip or I just got unlucky with my card. People say they are seeing temperatures of up to 77* at 1.275v. I only saw a maximum temperature of 60* at 1010/1200 1.35v. Seems a little wacko to me!
Someone with ~80 points left us today, we're down to 14520 now and HWLuxx is just 50 points away... :(
Edit: Zucker2k went to OC Forums after getting banned here a while ago. I already told Gatman to stop banning members of the team but he just won't listen... :shakes:
Any ideas what are the best settings to get high AM3 score?
I got 230K with cpu @4.85 and GPU @~900 yet I see others do high >350K with just a little bit higher cpu (like 5ghz) and lower gpu clock?
Is it Win7 or does it work better with higher bus rather then multiplier?
hey all, i have been looking for a team to join, I keep coming back to here...
I feel that i will grow much more working with a team, and there is so much for me to learn. so so much.
i do most of my benching in the winter but i want to start preparing and learning, from the drama over the last few weeks, i realize i know squatz. But i want to learn.....
