I am using that BIOS w/o any problem. This board rocks. It OCs Intel Celeron 440 and E1400 to 3Ghz w/o a sweat. Still going to try to bump it up further...

Nice thanks for the info :D
Guys i have a big problem here.. I've just installed the RE on my system, but unfortunatelly it doesn't boot .. There is no signal on the screen and the 280's fan isn't working...What is going on?? The LCD Poster isn't responding, it just keep counting, and from the leds on the m/b, only the HDD Led is on..I have to do something special to make it work properly?
wrong thread guys
this is to ASUS Rampage Extreme ,an not ASUS Rampage Extreme II;)
good work cheapseats
very nice clocking and efficiency there
nice RAM as well mate
Yes i 've just cleared the CMOS, from the button on the back I/O panel, no luck.. I've already tryied the bios jumper on BIOS 1 and BIOS 2 position, no luck..All connectors are plugged in, im gonna check them again, its the fifth time! Im going to reseat VGA and memory soon..And yes the m/b its brand new, i have just remove it from the box.. One question: When the m/b boot up, all the leds are on? As i said before, in my m/b only the HDD led is on :(
My whole setup is on my signature
I've tried with only one dimm on B2 slot, without the dimms at all, and also without vga, nothing... The bad think is that my stacker doesn't have a speaker so i cannot get the beep codes... But i think that at least the LEDS when i removed completely the rams, should be on, warning me that there is no ram, or something like this..Also i removed the batery for about 5 mins, the same things again...I don't want to say it but i think that the m/b is dead or something like this, im gonna try to reseat CPU right now, and see... Have anyone faced a similar situation with this m/b?
Thanks in advance..
Hey N.I.C. I've come home after 2 months to find my RE wouldn't boot, would either lock up at VGA bios or CMOS error. :shakes: I installed 2 HeatKillers on my graphics cards & thought that maybe that was the problem. So, took an old 7800 GTX I have and plugged that in and I'm back in the bios, update Windows, blah blah blah. So, put the 4870X2's back in and nothing again. Plug the 4870X2's into the Bloodrage and they work fine. So, I'm leaning towards it being the power supply. I'm using an Antec 1000 and will switch it for a Enermax 1250 tommorow. I started having doubts about the Antec when running Furmark last time home and the board would just reboot 20 seconds in. Will get back to you with my findings.
Too bad to hear that, im in the same situation here and i feel you man :)..
My PSU is a Thermaltake Toughpower 850W and i have already tried a Toughpower 1200W about an hour ago... The same things.. The matter is that in my m/b, leds are not blinking or stay on as they should be, for example CPU or RAM leds at least should be on... I don't know, i think it is DOA, im going to do some more extensive tests tommorow, and if the results are the same, i will return it.. Dont forget to inform us about your progress
hi N.I.C. :) no lit LED at any stage for NB/SB/DIMM would seem like no power to these areas, so maybe a board fault unless both your PSUs have same problem.
at default settings (on my board anyway) the LEDs for DIMM/NB/SB should light up green when you very first power up, then flash all colours during CHECK CPU, then go off during the rest of POST, then lit green again when INIT ROM shows at end of POST. If POST hangs before CHECK CPU eg on CPU INIT or DET RAM, the NB/SB/DIMM LEDs will stay on.
Nah i don't think that both psu have problem... i returned the toughpower 1200w to my friend, and he put it on his system, it works fine...we 've tested mine to his system too, no problem... Most probably, the m/b is defective.. That is exactly what i was talking about... My board does nothing of what you said about the Leds :(... I'll try something that came in my mind now, and i'll get back tommorow..Thank you guys:up:

How does it improve older bioses? I would look at release notes but I can't stand going to asus support site.
cheers dino much appreciated :)
very happy with this kit.. the 'real' CL8 4ghz efficiency is coming soon if my NB cooling can keep up :D
1104: "Fixed system boot long time if attached some ODDs without CD inside"
been running 1104 with e86/2x1 GTR, and memory clocking at least as good as 0403
very close to 0403 for 32M speed (+/-0.016s @ 592x7.5)... still trying to catch you in Low Clocks 9.xx :D
same settings working for both but 1104 does overvolt vcore with LLC on compared to 0403
there is also 1M modded 1104 by before.

Anuaja post your bios set up;)
anuaja i do have same setup also. yours bios settings will help me a lot. thanks in advance!
You were testing your friend's PC, is his mobo the same as yours? Any progress lately? Looks like it may be a DOA mobo. But if that is the problem, why is the LCD showing correct info? Wouldn't a DOA mobo render the LCD displaying blank instead? Kind of confusing...
