I am now hitting the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION BSODs...so what shud i work upon? Memory ? or is it the proccy wall? my current settings are as follows:
Q9550 @ 500x8.5
Rampage Formula 0803 BIOS
G-Skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ kit x 2 - 8gig @ 1:1(2.1v)
DRAM Static Read Control DISABLED
Ai Clock Twister Moderate
Performance Level 10 with All Pull Ins Enabled(Effective is 9)
vcore - 1.4275(1.40 Real)
NB - 1.65
SB - 1.1
CPU Clock - Delayed 200ps
NB Clock - Delayed 100ps
RAM Clock skew - Delayed 100ps
9 out of 10 that you've got a memory problem. All ASUS boards seem to have memory problems. Take a look at the Maximus II Formula thread or any other ASUS board thread and you'll see that they suffer with memory problems.
It's time that ASUS wakes up and fix the problem in their BIOSes.
You experience the same thing like I do. A DRAM CLK Skew delay of 100ps seems to be right but it doesn't work. Try with only 50ps and disable the Phase-pull Ins. You can try to enable them back later if you have found stability with the Phase-pull Ins Disabled.
You know what. Maybe it was a mistake to buy this board and I should've gone for a DFI board.;)
It's time that ASUS runs more stability tests on their boards instead of benchmarks. Benchmarks are fun but won't tell you where the stability problems are situated. I may be a pain in the ass for ASUS but if they actually run some stability tests they may actually find the weaknesses on their boards and BIOSes and I don't have to be a pain in the ass anymore.:down:
I provide them all the information they need to easily find a solution for the problems. I give them my BIOS settings, hardware setup and tell them what programs I'm using to test stability. I tell them exactly what happens and where the problem is situated. How hard can it be for their so called "engineers" to find a solution for these problems.:shakes:
What do they do with all that information. They simply ignore you because they feel that itch on their ass again and it's starting to hurt. All that information goes straight to the recycle bin. I know that because of the fact that after some time when they can't deny the problems anymore they seem to have lost that information and ask you to send it back to them.:confused:
I have a family to support and simply don't have the extra money right now to buy me a new board and if I have that extra money I'd rather spend it on something else than to buy a new board.:(
This is why I think that I made a mistake to buy this ASS-Sucks board and should've bought a nice DFI board. The DFI Tech Support would have been glad that someone can provide them so much information to improve their products and release new BIOSes that fixes some issues.:welcome:
You can only sell your products when your customers are happy with their purchase and DFI knows that well. For this you need good support and that is what they are giving. They know that guys, who can help their customers to solve their problems that they are having, are necessary and would never ignore you or think of you that you are a pain in the ass like ASUS.:yepp:
ASUS is going to realize this when it's to late and all their customers on the Enthusiast market don't buy their products anymore because there is no support or feedback for their Enthusiast products anymore for those who need it.:shrug:
Who knows, one day sooner or later, I'll be giving feedback and support for one of DFI's boards.:D

A-Grey i did what you said to do and my memory has 11 errors right at the start of the test. Looks like it's time to get new RAMs.
I will run memtest right now to see if it errors at 1080MHz.
Seems its the board....cant even get the ram stable @ 505 x 7......wont pass even a minute of Memtest86.
PS:Is there a diff between Memtest 86 and Memtest 86+? I am using Memtest 86 v3.4 i think

I don't mean to sound rude, but chill on the posts. Rather put your questions into a single post and take some initiative of your own as well. You'll find if you spend some time understanding what you are changing on your own, and then when you are stuck explain what you did and what is wrong and more people will be happy to lend a helping hand.
I personally don't feel that spending time I don't really have is worthwhile when the person isn't making the extra effort of his own first.
You can't always have what you want with ram frequency, fsb frequency, voltage, etc you'll have to find a compromise that works with your board and components. Start with loose performance level and lowest CPU multiplier, ie 6x, and then get your FSB/RAM frequency where you want it, voltages where you want, then setup Performance Level tighter, raise Vnb as you need it, then finally raise CPU mutliplier 0.5 or 1x at a time, and raise Vcore with it, test and find the stable voltage for each multi.
Follow that method and you'll find it's a lot easier.
My RAM passed MemTest86+ at 1081MHz for 40min.

I think you have to buy new memory. Try to get G.SKILL memory.
There is a kit G.SKILL F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI memory available in the sales thread.
Or buy a kit G.SKILL F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI they clock very well. My friend mikeyakame has good luck with that memory.

give this mem testing package a try, its from Micro2000 developers of Microscope diagnostic/testing software.
It's dvd iso of free memscope package, which otherwise requires an email signup and too much spam once they have the address. It does pretty intense memory diag/tests and If it's the same as the one in the Microscope R14 package, it'll thrash your memory and pick up more timing problems/too low voltage than memtest86+ does.
System hardlock is fairly common with these until your mem subsystem is stable. It might not pick up all 4gb, but the 3.3gb low mem is more than enough to get valid results.

Purpose was to test how good are my A-Data's, looks stable - but sometimes in idle I'm getting BSOD's.
Could you guys give me any advice what should I tweak to raise stability?
My current settings:
vMCH = 1.45
vDDR = 2.4
AI Clock Twister = Moderate
Strap = 266
BTW: can low strap be a problem here?
