i think 250+ 2,5-2-2-X is possible withpout vmod :)
btw: now i can run prime95 at 2,86ghz (same settings like in the link above) with only 1.48V load :D
raiden
I,m getting good numbers with 4x512 TCC5 at 240fsb 6-3-3-2 and 2.85V 2.88G with 25.6s superpi, they run 4x512 at 210fsb 5-2-2-2 .If I drop the multi down to 11 they run 248fsb 6-3-3-2.My utt and bh-6 dont give as good numbers at any speed. The 4x512 pat dissabled at 240fsb give better numbers than 2x512 pat for superpi .2-3s per run.
Managed to break 2.7Ghz on a 400Mhz Dothan 710 nice and stable, anymore and its dead in the water though.

1st tested out with ct-479 cooler and superpi1M.
def voltage, 2749MHz, 1.6v 2966MHz, max screen with inbox 3077MHz.
prime stable with inbox 2850MHz
warm water - primestable - 1.6v 3GHz.
20C water - 1.7v superpi 3127MHz, screen 3224Mhz
6C water - 1.7v superpi 3201Mhz, screen 3300MHz.
water + half-ass peltier (replaced wires on 300w pelt and cold-side is ~15C hotter than it's used to be) - superpi ~3.3Ghz, screen 3400Mhz

btw.. what about this pm780 low-mult-high fsb bug?
:slobber: what can i say, nice overclock Caater
hi all im getting into dothan power and the only mobo i can get is the Asus P4P800-E Deluxe Socket 478 Intel 865PE will this be o.k as i am going to use the asus adaptor and a 1.86mhz dothan.
i will be using geil ultra X bh5 3200 (1gb kit)
and it will be water cooled.
I hope to get above 2.7 with this setup, or am i dreaming.
This should be a big upgrade form a 2944mhz m-xp (34sec super pi)
Dear,
I tried reading the whole thread, but it's damned long.
So I recently bought this setup:
PM760 (2 GHz 533 2 Mb)
Asus CT-479 Convertor
Asus P4P800 Se (Fully Vmodded - bios 1009 004)
I can run perfectly at 13*200 Mhz (2.6 Ghz - 1.5 Vcore). But choosing a higher fsb even 3 Mhz more didn't work. Wel setup loaded windows but was unstable. No problem, just take a lower multiplier, 10 or so. once and again 10*200 works like a charm, higher doesn't work. I can boot up to ~210, but performance is a lot lower.
Memory is TCCD DDR600 running sync at cas 2.5-3-3-7. Not the best timings around, but I'M using this momory to be sure that this isn't the limiting factor.
It's not the cpu I think, because my banias 1.3 also wont go over 200 Mhz fsb. What setting did I miss in bios ?
yo got banias to 200fsb? :o
but.. you are using clockgen or set fsb in bios? if clockgen, try to boot @ 201 fsb, not 200..
Boot to 199 (DRAM at 266 for 1:1) or 201 (DRAM at 400 for 1:1) to get the locks.
199 will give you PAT as well
Is the general consenus that 780 or 770 chips are better for high OC's using water? I know that 780's are the way ahead for DI/phase change, but for more simple setups with water even chillers or peltiers I think I remember folk saying the 770 was more suitable. Also it seems that with these chips it doesn't matter if its OEM or retail, would you all agree?
Pm 770 on P4gd1
LS.
not my best result, wait for 780 D1's coming.....

Do a 3d2001 run...
It's possible,a Zalman CNPS9500 on a M740.

I got about 10 degrees lower temperatures than with the stockcooler.
And a new personal high.

Anybody experience of using the 478 pin packaged dothan chips? Just managed to get a cheap SL7SL (770) off ebay, have only seen one other person when searching the forums, anyone else?
all dothans have 478 pins. they just call it s479 because its incompatable with normal s478. thats where the asus adapter comes into play :)
so whats up wit the two different Intel espec names? For instance the SL7SL Package Type is 478 pin PPGA whereas the SL7SP Package Type is 479 pin H-PBGA. I never really noticed until now so am wondering?
Yesterday is tested 240 2,5-2-2-5 (micron) on p4gpl-x and 750@2,88GHz 1:1....
Aquqmark CPu score was 16K :D
Thats ok for aricooling i think ^^
16k? That sucks!
