Building a Sossaman rig?

Hey guys, I'll have both Sammys back up and running somewhat shortly (hopefully) but I have a quick question that I don't think has been touched upon in this thread... Will either of the onboard SATA controllers play nice with 2TB and/or 3TB drives? I've had some issues with older hardware and newer high capacity drives and I'd like to know if anyone has given it a try before moving ahead with a project I have planned.

mmm.. lemme check with a friend.. I'm quite certain he has a WD 2TB Green plugged into the onboard SI3124 (Intel mobo)

I currently have 4 * 2tb Samsung 204ui's plugged into mine ;) no issues to report

It looks like the supply of cheap CPUs has dried up for now. :(

A couple of 2.16GHz items would be sweeeeet ... but I'm not holding my breath. :(

I googled before - found a site that was trying to sell for ~USD$1200 each... :shakes:

Oh good luck! :eek: There's no point spending $1200 on these, you'd just move on to something newer.

has anyone dropped the guy on ebay that used to sell the chips for $10 a pm to see why they've been de-listed??

Finding someone who wants to sell a bunch of the SL9HM units (2.16GHz) for that price would be oh so sweet ... but I'm not holding my breath.

I messaged the fellow (belmonttech) on Ebay who used to list the SL8WT 2Ghz CPUs for $10 a pop - he is willing to re-list! :D

Of course he won't have any SL9HM chips ... would he?
